I'm thinking about getting the Burts Bees Banana hand lotion, has anyone used it? What's everyone's favourite hand cream? My absolute fave is Crabtree and Evelyn hand therapy, but I must have a million hand lotions. Always looking for one more though!

Ohh I can't wait for Miss Luisa to answer this one! She is obsessed and I mean obsessed with hand care products!
As for my preference I like to use a good old body scrub on my hands and then slather them in hand cream (my current favourite is by La Mer). I finish with a slick of Solar Oil on the cuticles and pop on my cotton gloves for an overnight treatment. My hands feel super soft after doing this.

Hmmmm...this is a hard one, there are so many great hand creams out there!
May have answered this in a similar thread but....I like Neutrogena Norweigan Formula Hand Cream (you only need the smallest amount) for hardcore rescue, and L'Occitane Verbena Harvest Ice Hand Cream Gel (beautiful lemony scent and helps cool down warm hands; I keep it in the fridge!).

Ozcat this is very difficult as it depends onwhat is going on with my hands at any given time.
I love Jurlique Lavender hand cream, Alchemy Lavender hand & cuticle cream, Dior hand cream, and as a treatment, the Prai Duo consisting of a heat resurfacer ( it's a cream in a tube, as you rub it in the product acts as an exfoliant and generates heat ) [B]hand cream[B] nourishes.
Of course I also love the Alpha-H hand cream.
The more I think about this thread the more creams I could name .... no I will stop here! :hearts:

I could be here all night so check out my exhausting post in the Hand Cream thread. Current fave (and it has to be good to make it into my must haves) is the Mecca Hand Elujah Age Defying Hand Treatment - absolutely bloody marvelous with so many active ingredients. Scent is intoxicating too, I want a fragrance that smells the same!
PS Just put some on, this one is beside my computer (where you know I spend too much of my time!!)

At the moment my fave is Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Hand Therapy. I don't normally like lavender because it reminds me of toilet water, but this is really nice - I'm actually onto my second tube now and that's a first for me in the world of hand creams! I have also ordered the Shizen one, so I'm looking forward to trying it.

Well I was out today and I needed hand lotion so I grabbed an Innoxa one from the chemist. Saw that it had essential oils and whatnot so thought it might be ok. Texture is horrible and ultra greasy. I just read that the third ingredient is MINERAL OIL. So I probably should have read the ingredient list before I bought it.
Why the flip do they keep putting this crap in products? It feels horrible on the skin and has no benefits!! Grrrrrrr. I'm not even going to use this crap as a foot lotion, it's going straight in the bin.

I :hearts: the Nivea moisturiser, I buy the one in the white bottle with the blue lid (the dark blue bottle is a bit greasy for my body but would be great for hands) and I go through about a bottle a week!! Constantly applying it to my hands and forearms during winter. Not a fan of the garnier handcream, there was something I didn't like about the smell...and the texture.

One of my pals is a fan of that one too Elizabeth, must get hold of some.
At the moment I'm using L'annine Lemon Oil Hand & Body Cream from Kit. Seriously moisturising (more of a barrier cream though) and smells citrusy-fresh. I like the old-school tube too.

Well, not like I need anymore hand creams but I have picked up a few obscure ones in the last few days. As well as my Alpha H Hand and Cuticle care I now have added:
Neostrata Hand and Nail Cream (this one is an AHA based one for brown spots (which I dont have any yet!)
Sohum Tiare Flower Hand Cream - this one has shea buter and almond oil.
In Essence Hydrating Hand Cream - in their newer body range. Smells lush with essential oils.
Hamilton Skin Therapy LIght Cream - this is new so I couldnt resist. This has all types of parafin, glycerin, shea butter, Bitamin E and dimethicone. Think is is fragrance free.
Your Pharmacy Total E cream - also has evening primrose and rosehip oils.
This must bring my current rotation of hand creams to about 40 - now I stop counting!!

:redcheeks:Yes, way too many!
Ok my top ten are:
1. Mecca Hand-Ellujah Age Defying Hand Treatment - surely the best I have ever used.
2. Qtica Overnight Hand Balm- superthick and this one repairs cuticles too, noticeable difference next morning.
3. Aesop Resurrection Hand Balm - lovely texure and devine smell.
4. Ahave Advanced Hand cream - this one feels like it offers the most lasting protection, feels like a silicone glove.
5. Ahava Dermud - Dead Sea mud based, this is a great treatment.
6. Palmers Olive Butter - I buy the tube and it is a sensational product for the weeny price.
7. Apicare Rescue Cream - found this in New Zealand, honey based and effective.
8. Le Couvent Des Minimes Nourishing Hand Cream - like L'Occitane Shea cream but has honey in it.
9. Anatomicals Help the Paw - have this one on my desk at work, scent is invigorating.
10. Aveeno Hand Cream - oatmeal base and very soothing.

I spotted two hand care products today which I had never seen before - both from Manicare at the chemist. :glee:
The first was a Rejuvenating Hand Masque which you leave on then rub then excess in until all gone. Was around $10, and I was fascinated by this and think I'll go back and buy it. The other was a Hand Scrub which looked like it would be a lovely texture, and is probably made to be used before the hand mask. I often use a hydrating mask, then slather on a serum and then hand cream for a total hand treatment, but this first product sounded like it cut out two steps!

I have used both of these Melita (surprise surprise!). The hand mask is great as thick treatment or just as a hand cream. It has a good texture and smell and is quite an effective product and in a huge tube. The scrub is great too although any scrub will do. I have used the foot one in their range on my hands. It contains menthol and aloe vera. I recently repurchased the In Essence Hand scrub, which has pulpy woody like shavings infused with lavender oil that makes the most sensational hand scrub!

I think I need slapping. I really do. I :hearts: my MMS stuff, but for some reason, I never tried the handcream.
Today I thieved Mum's (she has HEAPS) and it's bloody brilliant! I use my normal creams/butters/lotions on my hands, but this stuff kicks bum over them (and they are MMS too!)
My skin feels smooth, soft and even the sides of my index fingers (notoriously bad for exczema/dermatitis) are feeling better, after 1 applicaiton. Must acquire more............

I feigned embarassment but on the inside I was like "Yeah baby!!!! Those hundreds of dollars worth of scrubs and creams just paid for themselves!". I didn't remind myself that they paid for themselves with one compliment. From a friend. A female friend. That's just too depressing.

I bought another tube of Aesope Resurrection Aromatique hand balm today, I absolutely love love love this product! It won't quite oust my beloved C&E or L'Occitane hand creams, but it's getting there. I've been picking up some slack with the housework lately so my poor little mittens need some TLC and this is just the ticket.

Just ease of use and the fact that you need to fold it down to get the cream moving downward. That and that damn silly cap they insist on putting on it. Usually takes a couple of goes to get it on! Am also not a fan of flip tops that do not have a strong enough hinges to cope with constant openings and don't get me started on jars!:explode:

This is probably a dumb question but here goes anyway.
You know how we all talk about body oils, dry oils, bath oils, cuticle oils, cleansing oils etc, i want to know if there is a product out there like a "hand oil", i realise there are cuticle oils which i use anyway, but what i'm want is an oil that is absorbed quickly and makes my hands really soft. I also want to put it on at night before bed and sleep with the white gloves on so my hands are really smooth in the morning. I slather my hands with cream twice while in bed for going to sleep and my hands just soak it up like crazy, so i want something more replenishing and softening.
Any suggestions would be great!
PP, I used to use the OPI cuticle oil all over my hands :redcheeks: works wonders.
I just wanted to say that I am sooo dissapointed about the much raved about Mecca Handcream... it might be really awesome, but I wouldn't know but there's no way I am putting that stink fest on my hands :chuckle: Sorry to all the lovers of this stuff, I wanted to love it too, but it smells horredous!

PP I think any kind of moisturising body oil would work well on your hands. Try the TBS Monoi Oil or the Monoi Balm - the balm is a cream but it is super-thick and oily, a very good handcare product. I also like to use an oil and then a thick cream over the top to "seal" it in! Just make sure your oil has no mineral oil in it or it will not moisturise!

I totally agree. I dont think the consitency of an oil would do much especially if we are talking about the underside of your hands. Stick with a balm.

I'm using just my Nivea Creme tub on my hands at the moment. It's the blue one, like $4. It's pretty nice actually.

I am back to using the Clarins Hand and Nail cream.
Had left this one behind years ago but am really liking it again. Great texture and if it helps my nails, then that's a bonus!

I must dig out my badger cuticle balm, mine are in a sameful state :shakehead:
With all the stress of trying to do calculations I have gone to town on them, picking at the dry skin and hangnails rather than slathering cream on them so my hands now look like a road kill :shakehead: :chuckle:
Anyone got any quick emergency fixes?

I love this one to Celeste! Have you noticed you and I have very very similar tastes in skin care and products in general?

I'm quite interested in the Dove Proage hand cream. Anyone tried it before? It has 4% AHA's in it as well. Where's Lusia? Surely you must have tried it? :chuckle::whistle:
Ask CeeJaye Trash - she has used the neck serum and body wash, might of used the hand cream.

Yeah that's right. I remember her saying she did like the serum. It will probably be cheap so I might just buy it anyway and try it out.

Hey Trash! I have used the body wash (fabbo!) but have not even seen the hand cream but I must admit I wasnt looking. The Alpha H one (lost in the house somewhere) has a heap more AHA but the Dove one sounds good.
