My boy is always telling me that he likes my hair better in a ponytail than blowdried/out. I always thought he was a bit mental... but apparently nearly all men agree!
According to this Cleo survey, 94% of men prefer ponytails to all other hairstyles.

Which kinda makes me think: why on earth do we bother mucking around with blow-waving and GHDs and whatnot? We could just stick it in a ponytail and be hot!

No my boy loves my hair out, especially straight after the hairdressers when Its been perfectly straightened. So thats just tough coz I'm not straightening it all the time, its such hard work. He also prefers me to walk around nude all the time, as I said... Tough!

Boys dont understand fashion though, they probally think its hot because it doesnt take as long hence no need to nag us when we are getting ready to go somewhere.

I agree that most men prefer a women with her hair in a ponytail than all nice, sleek and blowdried. When I do get a compliment from a guy, its usually when Ive just pulled my hair back in a pony and not feeling very sexy, then when Ive spent an hour in front of the mirror blowdrying and straightening.
The only reason I spent and hour blowdrying/straightening my hair is to make myself feel good ! :)

I agree!
I tend to get the most attention when I'm knocking about with hardly any makeup on, ponytail and the whole jeans and a tshirt look... but also never feel very attractive when I look like this!
*hmm mental note* maybe i need to start doing this more often? :ashamed:
In saying that whenever I do take the time to make an effort at work with doing my hair and makeup the guys tend to comment and ask me if I have a hot date!? I never do!
Hmmmm, I'm not too sure about this one... My ex always prefered when I had my hair down and slightly wavy- although he doesn't speak for all men, I just don't really get how they can prefer a ponytail to be honest.

I don't get it either. I think girls with slim faces and striking features look hot with a slick pony tail but it makes me feel big. I have broad shoulders and feel much more comfortable with my hair out!! My ex loved it straightened but I normally wear it curly and one day he said 'I love your hair straight but I actually think it suits you better curly'???!!!! So despite this barrage of guys who seem to prefer pony tails, I am going to stick to wearing my hair out!!

Yes, that was an interesting survey, talked about hair colours too!
I always wear mine in a ponytail for work. Depends on where I am going or wearing as to whether I wear it out. Looks good but a lot of effort!

VeeE my boy prefers this too - 'au naturale', straight after it's been washed and is all soft and wavy. The girlier, the better.
He does like the whole ponytail thing but more ponytails, plural, like two low ones. It's my standby do and NEVER leaves the house, so doesn't make an appearance very often!

I hardly ever wear my hair out because I hate it flying in my face or getting in my food. The thing I love most about my ponytail is that my hair looks perfectly groomed at all times. I am one of these people that likes to look completely groomed at all times whilst in public. Because my hair is fine it tends to go very ferral if I wear it out and the wind gets in it.
As for Men prefering hair in a pony or out I don't even consider it. I say girls wear your hair the way you like it and if a man likes your hair one way I would be determined to wear it the opposite!

I have always found this facinating, how we go to so much effort and guys seem to notice it more when you do nothing!! A few years ago (pre husband) I went out in Adelaide on a week night when my friend was in uni, with no makeup, shitty hair and no effort made at all with clothes, and I managed to pick up! So there you go.

My thoughts exactly PCC! My best buddy is a boy (who I'm in love with, but that's another story...) and keeps telling me how he likes me hair and I keep smiling and nodding and doing it how I like!
My hair is shortish so when I wear it in a ponytail I feel a bit stooopid. I'm growing it so it will be better hopefully in a few months. Also I have curly hair which doesn't like to be tamed. I prefer to wear my hair out and be able to touch it and mess it around if I want to. Also I love my the way my hair looks in the sunlight with the sun glinting off different colours and this only really comes out when it's down. And I'm going to stop typing now because that's enough!

I wear mine in a ponytail for work, because it gets in the way and drives me batty.
The husband likes it down and straightened, he LOVES it like that, but it's soooooo much work.

My boy hates it when I straighten my hair. I have naturally curly hair and he loves it when I let it go wild.

I used my GHD to curl my hair for the first time ever last night, and my boy loved it, which was a surprise cos he appreciates very simple average clothes, hair and makeup on a girl, ie, straight hair and jeans and a t shirt... which is not my style at all!!

I got hit on soooooooo much on Wednesday, more by sober men than the inebriated. It was ridiculous - I was working. I had my hair up in a ponytail, no makeup. I was wearing black pants, a black polo, and there were gorgeous, tanned, dressed up, made up women with amazing figures everywhere. They were out to impress, and quite a few were looking to score. I am on the short side, somewhatly lumpy, and I was not in any way, manner or form dressed to impress. And yet................
