My favorite restauant in the whole world is Quay, which is in Sydney. They make the MOST delicious food albeit a bit pricey...
I also really love Courgette in Canberra (they also have cute waiters) :hearts:

I was just thinking about this! I am going to my favourite restaurant tonight... Nataraj on Camberwell Rd in Camberwell!

They do just about every food you can imagine, it has a lovely atmosphere and a great beer garden out the back. The waitresses COULD be a little friendlier but I just love this place.

Also for cheap and cheerful, I love the Lipari in Geelong, which does the best pastas and schnitzels... all home made and delicious and cheap! Great atmosphere too.

I love the Copperwood resturaunt in Kalamunda, Perth. At a very close second comes Armarettos italian resturaunt in Osborne Park, Perth. They arent too exxy either.

I love the Ottoman in Canberra for somewhere really nice. I also rate Tilleys for the cafe experience, it's gorgeous inside, they play beautiful music and you get a great mix of people...plus my sister works there so I get my food free ;) .

Best meals I've had have been at Flower Drum in Melbourne, Pier in Sydney, and Fee & Me in Launceston. But these are all a bit too $$$ to visit regularly :)

Cookie does fantastic Thai food - best in Melbourne I reckon.

My local Chinese takeaway is the best ever - I can't ever find anything that matches up to theirs. :worship:

I'm not going to go into Townsville restaurants cos no-one will have a clue!! But I spend a lot of time in Brisbane and Sydney:

Brents in Toowong - around the corner from my old flat, it replaced Bruno's Tables which was my all-time favourite place. I was so sad when it closed but Brents was a fine replacement, with divine French-inspired food. It's the tiniest, cutest, blink-and-you'll-miss-it, but check it out Brissie gals, especially good on a date!! (I took more than one unsuspecting customer there, it gets em every time).
2 Small Rooms in Toowong - only been there 3 or 4 times but the food was awesome each time. The atmosphere is so great (I'm a sucker for good atmosphere) and it's one of those institutions that has been around forever. Glad I've experienced it!
Radio Cairo in Cremorne - a casual North African restaurant but so much fun to go to and the food is divine. Apricot popcorn shrimp is da bomb!
Shinju Teppanyaki in North Sydney - the funnest Teppanyaki I've ever been to, with the funniest and most talkative chefs....and awesomely kickass food.

Am a Brissy girl too, but have never tried 2 Small Rooms, have heard of it but never been...think maybe I should though.

I love Cinco Bistro in Camp Hill for a special night out, and Ben's vietnamese in South Brisbane for a cheap and very yummy meal, with hilariously bad karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights!

I love my restaurants and eat out often. Here are my favourite Tasmanian haunts:

T42 on Elizabeth Street Pier - Just love the grilled blue eye and pumpkin and pine nut risotto.

Blue Skies on Elizabeth Street Pier - awesome seafood and atmosphere. Their seafood platter for 2 is amazing. Easily enough for 4 people.

Mures Upperdeck on constitution Docks- again more seafood but fabulous. My favourite meal here is the butter prawns and they do pretty good sweets to.

The Revolving Restaurant Wrest Point Hotel Casino- dine whilst you slowly revolve around the room enjoying 360 degree views of Hobarts spectacular waterfront.

Cafe's:

Jean Pascal's Patisserie Carlton Street Newtown- the most beautiful litle cakes and biscuits and great hot choccies.

Mummy's Cafe Waterloo Street Battery Point- A really retro little cafe that provided good food at very affordable prices.

Jam Packed at the IXL Building- Great for late breakies or yummy panini's and things. I adore their scrambled eggs and they make Honey and Banana Smoothies to die for.

My favourite Melbourne Restaurant is without a doubt The Empress of China in China town- The best Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life. Love it and the service is brilliant every single time. I always go at least twice when in Melbourne.

I'm a Sydney girl and some of my favourite are:

Hurricanes @ bondi beach - for some flinstone type ribs! sooo yummy
Trio @ bondi beach - fantastic cafe looking onto the water
Nicks @ king street wharf - quieter than the one at cockle bay and always has beautiful fresh seafood

Often go to the Gold Coast and my favourites there are:

Saks @ marina mirage - to die for balmain bugs!
Marios italian restaurant - i dare u to finish a main meal pasta!

As a Melbourne girl I think we are spoilt for choice. I really enjoy:

The Graham, Port Melbourne - Restaurant is terrific and there is a relaxing, fabulous wine room at rear. Both with open fire places. Food and Wine in both areas amazing.

France Soir, South Yarra - Traditional French fare with attitude to suit.

David's, Prahran - Some of the best Chinese Cuisine I've eaten

Di Stasio, St Kilda - Great Italian food and wine list,

Old favourite has to be upstairs at the Stokehouse in St Kilda with views to dye for. I could go on forever................:typingb:

Im from the Northern Beaches in SYD and they have some great restaurants with amazing views

Across the road from my house is H20 which is right on Narrabeen lake. I go there for Banana Bread drenched in berry & passionfruit sauce and served with natural greek yoghurt. I insist this is better than S**. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Jonahs at palm beach is beautiful, and great for celebrity spotting.

But my favourite restaurant in the whole world is La Grillade in Crows Nest

Sydneysiders - you must must must go here!! its the most romantic place I have ever been. the food is beautiful, but the mood, you just cannot go past!! They also have a fantastic bar and wine list. One of the best in Sydney, its their specialty

Sahara - Parramatta - Turkish Restuarant
This is definitely my all time favourite place to eat! Great food, great service and great prices. My best friend and I go here for lunch/dinner on our birthdays.

The Opium Den - Potts Point (Kings Cross) - Thai Restuarant
Yummy food, great atmosphere, good prices - only downside is the pushy staff. I had my 22nd birthday here.

hmm actually I don't. I don't venture to Freo much its a bit far out for us, but I was dying to try Little Creatures for dinner (only ever had drinky poos there) and was pretty disappointed, wasnt exactly what I thought the menu would be. So we had a drink there and then walked up to Char Char Bull. I thought the wait staff were nice and professional!
Cicerello's is apparently nice on the waterfront there - but mainly seafood I believe.
I've also been told the main cafe strip has quite a few nice little resturaunts.

Actually I think Allison might be more clued up on that area - I'm more of a 'north-of-the-river' girl!

Same with us, Little Creatures was packed and noisy so we headed to Char Char Bull. Would like to go back to LC just for a few beers and snacks though.

Yep, I think Allison did a pretty good run-down on her top picks so I'll do another search.

OMG!!!

BrisVegas gals or those about to visit - listen up! :shockedhair:

I FINALLY tried out a restaurant in Brisneyland famous for making TO DIE FOR desserts on the weekend!

It's called Freestyle Tout - there are two, one at a suburb called Rosalie and one at the oh-so-trendy Emporium in the Valley (Fortitude Valley for those not in the know).

You can't book (unless it's a party so over certain numbers) but the line moves rather quickly.. most people only go for dessert as that's what they do best and can I say I agree!

I couldn't choose what to eat but after 15mins of back and forth menu envy issues I went with the Rubharb and Apple Crumble served with vanilla bean custard, berries, berry sorbet and vanilla bean icecream. Seriously to die for! I did have menu envy at the Choc Fudge Brownie my friend order, but gals... there's always next time and PLENTY more desserts to work my way through! :glee:

My SIL took me to the most amazing restaurant i have been to for a long time. Its called "Siana" and its in Brisbane on the river. I can't give too many more details because i just followed her and i have no sense of direction.

We had the Good Luck platter
-steamed pork buns
-tandoori naan (i think)
-crispy wontons with avo and mango (so good)
-some steamed chicken things
-steamed vege thingys

we also ordered san choy bow too because we were really hungry. It was a very filling lucnh but kinda light at the same time, almost everyhthing was steamed. I was so full afterwards but it was so nice sitting there looking out over the river and drinking my giant fruit drink.

I think its the only place me and my partner go to. They make wonderful food and you pay as you feel. For ages we would go there and not pay cos neither of us had money, now that we do we give them a good cut. Lovely people too.

Tiamo's is cheap but a lovely Italian restaurant on Lygon St. It has atmosphere.

Bosari's is also on Lygon and a more snazzy restaurant - also very nice.
