I am on the hunt for a pair of the must have shoes of the moment.... Ankle boots. I just love the look of them and will no doubt be purchasing a few pairs. I really want a red pair and a black pair to start with and then perhaps some chocolate ones. The only thing is that all the ones I have seen in the magazines have insanely high heels on them. Now heels that high will only mean one thing for me and that is a broken neck and or legs. Anyone spotted any ankle boots with a more manageable heel?

I have purchased a pair of Robert Clergerie black suede ankle boots with a 10cm thick heels. They are so yummy I can't wait for the chill in the weather so I can strutt my stuff.

Sorry I just don't get the ankle boot thing - too many 80s conotations :shakehead: Some of them are way wrong. Please stay away from that runched at the front look :vomit:

I don't get it either Medusa....I fully accept that they're "in", but they make me shudder with the 80s-ness of it all. But don't mind us gals, I'm sure you'll all look great!

I think the ankle boots with the dramatic heels are fabulous, but because I'm so tall I can't wear them. The ones without heels don't really do it for me. I hate it when that happens! Usually I find a shoe I like then hunt down a similar one that doesn't have a heel.

Toastie if you love it, just wear it! Don't let your height restrict you. Look what happened to P. Diana & Nicole K forced to wear flats by their insecure husbands. :shakehead: Be the statuesque goddess you are & be proud, I say!

I never thought they'd be back... but have bought two pairs already... well one anyways, the other is on layby..
Have got a red ankle boot, sort of scrunch style, pointy with a low heel. Love them! :hearts:
PCC this might be what you are looking for. They also come in black & grey. I got them in Melbourne at Laurent Shoes & thought I'd look so cool in Bris Vegas as being the only one owning them, but them spotted them in some stores here! :explode:
I've seen them at Wittner Shoes & Betts...
The others I have on layby are black, pointy, with a slight buckle on the side & high but not too high as I'm tall. Can't wait to pick them up!

I do the same thing! Thank goodness ballet flats are still in - these are my wardrobe staples!
Sorry, can't get into the ankle boots - I think it looks good on Kate Moss etc but not sure it would on me! Good luck though!

Ankle boots are gorgeous on tall girls! The taller, the better, I say!
Not for me though...sounds silly but I don't like my legs. Too stumpy. I like knee-high boots for the glam cover-up factor (heel as well as biker/motorcyle, for my 'don't come near me' days) and ballet flats with tights.

I got some ankle boots today! They are charcoal grey suede! I love them even though I will probably break my neck in them. I however will wear mine only with bootleg jeans or loose fitting pants so people really won't know they are ankle boots.

Me either Medusa. I have a couple of pairs and they stay firmly under a pair of pants!

Under pants is cool but I always see them advertised with mini dresses & I can't see how anyone other than models or skinny teenagers can pull off this look.

Well girls my " ankle boots " ( as they are titled ) actually come 6cm above my ankle bone and will be worn over opaque black tights with below knee length dress/skirts. They have a 1930's look and I think they are fabulous.
The wonderful aspect to this forum is how we can all be our own person and express our differences without fear or favour. :bunny:

I love ankle boots!
I used to have a pair of black Victorian style lace up ones with a 4 inch heel, they looked awesome under a long skirt :glee:
Of course the ones I have got now are by Red or Dead and are bright red with spiky silver heels!

Can you take a piccie once you've worn them with the outfit - I want to see how they work (you can leave your pretty little head off!!!)
This chick on the tram last night had leopard ankle boots - I wanted to take them off her and let her know this was for the greater good - ankle boots I can stomach, but not in animal print.

I own one piece - an leopard print cross over slinky sleeveless dress with splits up the thighs. Wore it to my birthday party. I think the style of the dress plus the print makes it look damned hot!:whipcrack:

Very noice RB, love the round toe.
I love leopard print! I have a pair of leopard print ballets with black trim. I don't know about boots though, that would look a bit hookerish.

I want to get a pair of nice black ankle boots that I can wear with a long black "floaty" skirt, I would love to find a pair like I used to have, very victorian looking but with a killer heel, hubby called them my miss whiplash boots!! :redcheeks:
Do you ladies have any ideas where I might find some?

Can't help with Madame Lash Boots - but I did need to tell you that I saw the most awesome ankle boots today (not that I need any more footwear). I have never really been an ankle boot person - long or nothing for me but these one today were like boxers boots with laces right up the front. Actulally now that I have written about them they don't sound that flash, but boy were they cool. I want want want them **James, how come we don't a emoticon that is salivating?**

me and my sister own like 40 ankle boots, ranging from flats to skyscrapers. They are so comfy, but you can't even take a step without party feets, buy em with every pair of shoes you get, EVERY!

I've come across some on Ebay - try looking in vintage, or searching for granny boots.
