Do you have a pedi once a week/fortnight? Do it yourself? How often? Do you use a foot cream every day/night? Pumice in the shower? How often do you change nail polish colour? What's your bank account password? Haha just kidding (what is it?). Are you into your feet or do you sorta neglect them?

Tell us everything!!

Hey Ozkat, I think PCC did a thread on this a while back..might be worth doing a search?

LoL I just felt compelled to put a foot-based thread in this section since I was the one who suggested the new section....I'll feel bad if it stays empty! So write in it, dammit! Write I say...

Cripes, now I'm scared - yes ma'am! :chuckle:

I think feet generally get a rough deal (ha ha). I don't look after mine like a should. I do apply a moisturiser at night and occasionally pumice, but don't get pedis as I don't want to subject anyone else to my clompers. I rarely have bare toenails and change colours once or twice a week. I always come back to reds and pinks - regulars are OPI's I'm Not Really A Waitress (deep shiny metallic red) and My Throne For A Cranberry Scone (erm - cranberry).

Adore has some great foot creams, I'd really like to try the the Burt's Bees one.

You're a crack-up ozkat :chuckle: I have no footcare routine :ashamed: , I just like to keep my feet clean by exfoliating with the Mecca Barefoot Beauty Foot Scrub, I don't take care of them as much as I should, I'm always in thongs and have a very obvious tan mark in the shape of a V on the top of my feet.

Haha I don't get pedis either for the same reason!! I have (and don't get freaked out now) two toes that are webbed together....not too noticeably, but you would definitely notice if you were looking at my feet for any length of time....and I've had the Asian "Beautiful Nail" experience where the pedi girl notices it and says something to her tiny mean counterparts about it! At least I'm imagining that's what they're talking about, and that's enough to put me off pedis for good! People don't need to be dealing with my freaky feet.

I usually file my dead skin (God this is a lovely topic ain't it?) about twice a week. Currently I'm using a Dr School foot file from the party feet range, it's purple and it's pretty darn fab. I do that before my shower at night and then I usually extend my body moisturiser down to the feet. Once or twice a week I'll put some Lucas paw paw ointment all over and put socks on (squelchy and gross). I usually do a proper pedi with soaking etc about once every ten days or when I have a uni assignment to avoid, but I change my polish colour about twice a week.

What foot routine??!!

Mine only consists of applying nail polish and the occasional rub with a Heros sponge (black volcanic rock thingy). Am wanting to try the new Manicare ceramic foot file, looks awesome!

OzKat I haven't met anyone who loves their tootsies! I know a few people with a hint of webbing...I think it's pretty common, you're not alone! If it makes you feel any better, my feet are so wide I don't need skis :)

Does the moisturiser-sock-overnight deal work for you? Haven't tried this but do like the look of Benefit's Sandal Scandal, a gorgeous foot cream with cute booties to match.

RBB, my problem too! Need to know where you buy your shoes!

It's such a pain, isn't it??

I've had success with Midas and occasionally Mollini, and Camper for casual (v. exxy though). Really have to hunt in the other stores, so many brands and styles I love the look of but can't wear (the pointy-toe continues to mock me!).

Hey thanks! Wincing just thinking about the pointy toe ones! Still on the hunt for something black and strappy for evening that I can actually get my foot into!

Those pointy toed shoes mock me too!
My feet are small (6) but very broad so much so that all of my toes are practically level with each other. They were a benefit to me once when I was a young ballerina. All the other girls were binding their feet covered in blisters while I wore no padding with my pointe shoes purely because I could distribute my weight across my foot instead of just my big toe! :ashamed:

Boots, joggers & thongs are my friends BORING!
Surfbrand Sandolls do a really wide fit & some funky styles.
Mollini & Pulp quite good too.

I got the Sandal Scandal pack a while back!! Gorgeous packaging but for my money it's no better than any thick moisturiser and a pair of ordinary socks (I use ones with pom-poms on them - gotta look cute! :carrot:). My feet feel soft the next morning but after a day in thongs they're usually back to their scrungy state. Probably better than if I neglected them though! I find the pumicing more effective than overnight moisturising.

I just pumice every now and then when they feel a bit gross, moisturise daily and apply polish probaly once to twice a week.

I was very naught a while back and didnt put a base coat on before my polish and now i have some staining on my toenails, thankfully its nearly all grown out now that i am using a basecoat ..phew! :o

I have wide feet too! It's a pain. Diana Ferrari are good, as with Mollini and Midas as already mentioned. RMK are good sometimes as well.

As for my footcare routine...sometimes I wax my toes, lol. Otherwise I'll use a pumice stone occasionally and paint my nails every now and then. My feet don't get much attention.

im actually the opposite to most of yu gals. i have really skinny feet! and they are tiny as well same as u Medusa size 6. I love the pointed toes as it makes my feet bit longer and it looks good on me.

i have to admite i do take really good care of my feet! i have a whole routine that i go through every week sometimes more than once a week depending on my mood. i soak my feet in warm water first. then i use the pumice to scrub away any dead skin. afterwrds pat dry them and i put the cuticle oil and massage them into my tootsies. leave that for 10 mins or so and then i wipe clean and apply my favoured nail polish ( pink or reds or orangey colors). top coat. Finally before i go to bed i apply a foot cream and somtimes wear socks. :shockedhair:

yikes that was a long one

i look after my feet better in summer, i use a pedipad in the shower every couple of days & a foot scrub once a week & use a callous remover [ one with a blade] about every 2 weeks & a cream every other night & always have polish on my toes.I try to have a pedicure once a month
In winter this is halved if i'm lucky:shakehead:

I have a bit of an issue with my feet being touched too, Rosie....i have some eczema scarring on my ankle and although it's probably nothing that anyone else notices, whenever I have a pedicure from those Asian places and they start talking Vietnamese or whatever, i always imagine that they're bitching about my scars! :chuckle: The Asian places have turned me off pedicures for life i think. I've had pedicures IN Asia too and they're just as bad. What's WITH the giggling?!

Where I live in Townsville, thongs are basically the uniform (closed in shoes are not the norm!!) so I try to keep my feet pretty well perfect. They're always painted and moisturised and i use a pedi paddle about twice a week. It's annoying though, i hate doing it!!

I keep thinking I should buy a pedipad, but I never seem to get there, slack! I must admit though that I wish I lived somewhere I could wear thongs year-round. I probably could here (NW Tassie) but my tootsies would get very cooooooold! And I'd have to give up my uber-thick woollen socks - which I :hearts:

And the giggling - I know what you mean. I used to have manicures with a Filipina, she'd sit there and giggle with her mother and sister while she did it (they worked together), always just after she'd done something to my hand, made me really self concious!

well my routine is a bit of a rub with the pumice stone when i can be bothered (or my heels look a bit manky!)

then it's the nail polish but i normally only do them when they start to chip so just depends! have just chipped two toes so it's time for a pedi... although have been thinking bout hitting one of those little asian nail places too ozkat but i'm the same - i don't like how they talk in their language in front of you - i want to know what they are saying!!! :penguin:

i also find in winter i have to get onto the footcare a bit more cause (and this sounds horrible) i wear closed in shoes more for work inwinter and if my toenails get too long and my shoes are too tight they cut into the skin on my other toes! ow! :shockedhair: so i always know when it's time to freshen up the tootsies...

Before I jump in the shower I swing my foot up on the bathroom cabinet and I grab my tweezers and I pluck any hairs from my toes and the top of my feet. Then I body brush (most days) which includes my feet. In the shower they get a scrub with the scrubbing brush. After drying, I check the cuticles and they get a quick push and if there is hard skin, about once every couple of months, it gets removed with this really cool blade I got from priceline and then the same cream as the rest of my legs which includes fake tan when needed. Often in the night, as I go to bed I rub a thicker cream in them and then rub it off on the sheets in the summer and do the socks in the winter. I don't paint them. They don't look too bad for old feet.

There that's what you get when you ask for every little detail. :waving:

At night, when i'm sitting ont he side of my bed just about to fall in i do the following routine.

-i have this huge flat embry board thing, so i use this in my heals and around my toes
-cuticle oil on nails
-nice thick heal cream (i'm currently using a no name stuff, but my face is the TBS hemp protector)
-then the same pair of socks every night becuase they have the cream in them all the time
