PCC it's so torture to make you remove all your nail polish in hospital! When I was waiting around in a hospital last week I saw a notice for people who were having a scan for something or other, and it said "when you come in for your scan, please make sure you are free of makeup and nail polish" and I thought "geez what kind of cruel system makes people go out like that?!!"....especially since you could run into a cute doctor!!

Torture I say.

Luisa it's Maybelline Wet Shine in "succulent". I know it's funny cos it's a cheapie, but I looooove their bottle shape and brushes. Something about the brush just makes it go on really well! Nice shine when it's dry as well (duh it's called Wet Shine lol).

Well this morning I switched my toes over to Christina Fitzgerald in 'Hazel', an orangey red colour. Her polishes have the most amazing staying power, they can literally last five or six days on your fingers without a topcoat.

My nails are bare because they've all started breaking off :question: - some of them are VERY short!! Major TLC needed.

Thanks for your suggestions girls! While I was at the Chanel counter yesterday, checked out their dark colours but dont want an actual black, more a seriously dark, dark red or berry colour.

Saw something interesting too while in town. A woman had the most bizarre metallic orange colour on her toes, like metallic paint! I was captivated (but unlikely to try on my own toe nails!!).

I dont mind orangy colours on my fingernails but prefer something darker on toes. I think it was the fact that it looked like metallic car paint that would scare me away!

Zoya produce a stunning metallic deep orange named Gabrielle, it is soooo fabulous. Although I adore it orange is not my thing.

Ozcat you need to try Qtica nail developer to build and stabilize your nail plate. Nails begin to grow really fast and strong.

I got my China Glaze from a nail wholsaler (nail tech in the fam). It is a professional polish so maybe you could get it in a nail salon? Do a search.

That colour was my toss up yesterday. Coral won out!

I have Revlon "Poised in Peach" on my toes and fingers, it's a quicky that you can put on in two seconds before running out the door. Dries quickly too. Although I definitely wouldn't call it peach - to me it's a shimmery shell/beige. What is it with nail polish colour names? "Rose" is rarely rose, "lilac" is hardly ever lilac, and "peach" is not peach!

Very nice and wearable, but I'll change it when I do my nails properly tomorrow.

I have this image in my head of a kind of hot salmon-pink. Erm, I mean hot shrimpy-pink.

It's a bright coral creme. A summery kind of colour really, you know, best with tanned feet. The colour is almost OTT but not quite - great for toes I think!

I did both fingers and toes yesterday in a L'Oreal bright cherry red (can't remember the name, sorry!). It looks cute but is way more of a summer colour, but I was getting sick of plummy/blackish reds so I wanted something bright for a few days.

yes it is! Looks great on the toes, but I was bored one night so I thought I would try it on my hands. I told myself to be brave and wear it to work but I chickend out in the morning! Besides I cannot stand the feeling of nail polish on my hands, it just feels wrong to me.

Even though I always have my toes painted I so hate the process. It takes soooo long & I can't do it around my boy as he hates the smell and its too risky to do with kids around. My toes are screaming for a redo though.

M, $40 sounds expensive but the consistancy is quite luscious and has great coverage. Chanel polishes hold well, never chip and last longer than other brands.

I also love OPI's Suzi loves Sydney and It's a Doozi, says Suzie.

I do too Medusa, unless it's one I wear obsessively often. I think when you have so many nail polishes, they never get all used up and so it seems a waste to spend so much on each one. I'm a fan of Revlon - at around the $12 mark I think they are really good quality. OPI have great colours but I don't find the quality any better or worse than Revlon or Maybelline type ones. Having said that, I have a couple of EL ones that I wear really often and they are beautifully textured. Also must consider the design of the lid and brush!

I've got a Red Earth one called "Pearl" on my nails at the moment, it's a pearlescent (funny that) pink with a bit of lilac shimmer. Very pretty but I have crappy inflamed cuticles at the moment so it's only picking up the reddish pink bits in my skin. :( So it's time for it to come off and for me to have naked buffed nails for a while.

I have a Chanel polish on my toes at the moment. I got it in Sydney on the weekend I can't remember the name of the shade but it's black!

At the moment i have clear acrylic ovelays with a gel topcoat. My natural nails are soo brittle and weak and just DO NOT grow!! I need these bad boys to have any chance of nail length at all.

I have Maybelline "Cherry Rain" on my fingers and toes, gave myself a mani-pedi today (GOD it takes a long time!). I bought it this morning along with Revlon "Cherries in Snow". Yeah they're pretty much identical colours. Go figure!

I am actually painting my nails while online! I painted my ridge filler base coat last night and have just put on a coat of OPI Chile O Caliente? It is a coral/pink with a bit of shimmer. It is fairly sheer so will need three coats. Medusa, must be the colour of the polish. I had OPI Equadorable coral on my (daily typing) fingernails for six days before the ends started to wear. Try slipping your top coat on under the tips as well to give them a better seal.:waving:

My toes are in OPI Kanga-ruby! I LOVE this colour. I spent a while doing it too, 'cause I wanted the 'pedicure' look (without having to pay for it:redcheeks:) I did base coat, 3 layers of colour and super shiny top coat!! Looks so good. I also did clear on my fingers just so they're shiny!

I'm giving a massive shout-out to the products I have on my fingers right now!!!! I have Cutex Nail Whitener on, with Sally Hansen Mega-Shine over the top. These are two of my fave nail products. The Nail Whitener gives the nails a really lovely pure clean look, and counteracts any yellowness or dullness. It gives them a healthy vivid colour, and it plays up the white tips so your nails look rather french-manicured. It has no shine though so I put a topcoat over it, and the Mega-Shine (in the silver mirror bottle) is my favourite. My nails got a couple of compliments today! Yay!

I would like to confess that i have tacky silver nail polish that is all chipped. I really need a professional french manicure, i think i need a splurge. or i might just wait tilli go on holidays and get some of the Bourjois french manicure paint with the curved brush tip.

I have CDior Rose Rose on my nails today, a beautiful coral/pink pearl colour. Not a patch on the lasting power of OPI though, already chipped and I barely touched my computer today!

It is amazingly reflective. When the light hits, you see a flashes of pure coppery gold. This polish also works well on the fingers. :penguin:

Well, TBA, I'm glad you asked! I bought a new dress! It's grey and very flattering, it's from a brand called Piper, which I've never heard of before, but they make lovely stuff- good quality and inexpensive. I also bought a pair of silver Steve Madden (:hearts:) heels.

I'm giving a massive shout-out to the products I have on my fingers right now!!!! I have Cutex Nail Whitener on, with Sally Hansen Mega-Shine over the top. These are two of my fave nail products. The Nail Whitener gives the nails a really lovely pure clean look, and counteracts any yellowness or dullness. It gives them a healthy vivid colour, and it plays up the white tips so your nails look rather french-manicured. It has no shine though so I put a topcoat over it, and the Mega-Shine (in the silver mirror bottle) is my favourite. My nails got a couple of compliments today! Yay!

Hey Ozzy, thanks so much for the tip, picked the Cutex Nail whitener up the other day and I love it! I quite like the matte look so just wear it alone. Makes a great base coat too! Thanks again!:waving:

Lol ;) - not the entire collection - just the Australia collection (I think it was about 12 colours). TVSN (on Foxtel) have special packs which are available exclusively to them - they don't normally sell the individual colours. When a new collection is released, such as Australian, Russian etc, one of the packs includes all the colours in that particular collection. A bit pricey, but I was able to pay it off in installments. But it's a nice collection, especially the shimmery colours.

With My Private Jet - I do find it sheer also, but I applied about 3 coats & I found that made it more opaque. I actually thought it was a black colour, but it seems to be more of a sheer charcoal grey-mauve colour with glittery bits.

I love that one! I've had it on my toes for the past couple of weeks, until I took it off last night.

And Luisa - I'm glad you like the nail whitener! I know it feels funny to use Cutex, but hey - if it works...... and they actually have a topcoat ("Diamond Shine" or something) that I like too. Very strong and shiny. The best thing is, they are so cheap I can replace the topcoat every month or so (I hate using old topcoats).

Purple Pleasures by Revlon on my toes today.

I don't wear anything on my finger nails except clear polish or if I am going somewhere special I will have a french mani. I keep my nails quite short as if I grow them I always end up scratching myself. For some reason I feel that coloured polish on my fingernails makes me look like a street worker!

I got the most amazing french pedi in Dubai - was soooo cheap too!!

It STILL hasn't chipped yet and it's over a week since I had it done, AND i have been wearing both closed and openetoed shoes!

I do however want to find a new toenail colour to wear when it does chip but not sure what colour! Something I can get away with at work... but that still looks HOT of course! :chuckle:

I often do my own French pedi and I find it's really hit and miss - sometimes it will look so great and I can't stop staring at my feet, and sometimes it will be really wonky and I can only stand it for a day or two before I take it off and replace it with something else. It's such a great thing to be able to do though, because I hate getting pedis but I love Frenched toes (not too white tho or they remind me of Victoria Beckham's long, ultra-white French toe tips, yuck!)

When I was doing it I kept having to wipe off and start again. Haha, the first one I did, I put white about half way down the nail!! Eww.
I don't like them ultra white either. I use quite a heavy pigmented (but still very sheer... that doesn't really make sense) pink over the white and it looks nice.

Speaking of french tips, Sephora has this cool 'pen' that you can use to create the white bit at the top. It's like a thick felt tip, so easy to use and creates a good straight line.

I want one too, that would make a French pedi soooo much easier!!! I have trouble controlling the flow of polish on the brush (eg have to be really careful not to load up the brush too much OR not put enough polish on!).

Oh, and today on my toes I am wearing Chi Chi in "Fashion Police", a bright, almost flouro coral. Nothing on my horrid horrid fingers :( They're letting the whole look down big-time. :redcheeks: I have a couple of nails that have broken off to a ridiculously short length! :explode:

Well up until this morning, I had Chi Chi in Fashion Police layered over Revlon Rosefire because I was too lazy to take off the Revlon and replace it :redcheeks: but it looked yucky because the one underneath was darker and I could see a bit on the edges. Yuck!! So this morning I re-did them properly in Christina Fitzgerald 'Hazel', a dark reddy-orange-flame colour.

Funny, I have had three shades of orange on my toes in the past week!!! Something to do with the tan, perhaps?

M.A.C Whirlwind on my toes today! A metallic green colour

Popped into Sportsgirl this afternoon and bought two of their nail polishes, which I only just put on.
Fingers - "Gold Coast", which is buttercup yellow. Not sure how I feel about it - it's cool in a fashionista/music vid kind of way....sooo not sure if I can pull it off quite frankly.
Toes - "Fanta", a creme flouro orange. Cute.

I put a layer of Revlon's "Kiss Me Coral" (a sheer shimmery pinky coral) over the Sporsgirl fluoro orange one and it now looks a lot more wearable!

I did my toes this afternoon in Maybelline "Cherry Rain" which is a gorgeous glossy cherry red. I love my summer reds creme and glossy and bright, with no shimmer!

Last night I painted my toes in "It's all Greek to me" A deep fuschia pink with shimshim, and on my finger nails (THIS IS BIG FOR ME - I can be a bit of a neglect to my fingernails) I filed and buffed them (pretty badly but still!) and have "Got a Hot Date To-Knight" on them - lovely creamy baby pink.

They're lovely - haven't chipped or gotten weird marks or finger prints on them - I can see I will become an OPI freak!

Currently only some Revitanail clear polish.

Will put some colour on them tonight in preparation for the week...not sure what colour though...
