Well, I can't sleep so I'm pondering the important questions of the universe. How do you all feel about wearing/using a piece or accessory that is recognisably last-season or even seasons old? A certain hairdresser friend was bitching about a client who still carries a Gucci bag from last year, and I couldn't help but think "uhhh YEAH, if I spent one or two grand on a bag I'd want more than six months' wear from it too!". But then again, I cringe when I see those graffiti scrawl LV bags still going around....even the colourful Murakami (sp?) print has had its day, I think. So, other than the obvious (LV classic monogram/jeans/ballet flats/trenchcoats/etc) is it ok to keep recycling seasonal items?

i think its more how you 'feel' about the item i guess.....do you still feel good in it???

thats what you do have to take into consideration when spending your weeks wages on one accessory, i tend to stick to cheaper 'now' items.

For this reason if I'm going to buy something expensive I try to choose something that looks more classic and timeless, rather than something that screams "hot right now!!". I think it's perfectly acceptable to wear things that are a season or a few old, as long as you mix it up. You know? "In a "these shoes are from 2005 but I got my bag yesterday" kind of way. I don't know.

It's each to their own and I think anybody who bitches about what other people wear are sad and trashy. Everyone has their own style that can be appreciated.

Agreed Toastie. I reckon better to spend money on classics rather than trends. But I don't notice whether someone's carrying last season's bag. If they still love it they should use it!

I'm with you Toastie... keep it classic and timeless!

My favourite handbag is my Pink Oroton Hobo - I got it at least 3 years ago now, and use it regularly... it's not obvious that it's Oroton and the style/shape/colour suits me so I guess it never looks out of date - at least I don't think so!

I guess if some people can afford to splurge on trend items that most of us know are going to date in a month or so, then those are the people can afford to buy the next 'it' item... and good on them! :hearts:

I agree, big money should really be spent on classics only, but I agree that if you have a fab item that you love, you should keep using it, even if it is seasons old.

I think that bitching about other peoples' fash choices is low too! I was so unimpressed with the Gucci bag comment.
