Hi all,
I am driving myself nuts trying to find a thread where someone posted a budget skin care range that had very similar ingredients to Proactiv Solution. This is for my lil' bro; he is using the Proactiv but is going to stop soon because it's just too expensive for him. He is also using Cetaphil to cleanse and moisturise with, and also uses Benzac AC (I think he recently went up to the 5% strength because it wasn't helping much).
Is there a budget skin care range out there that can help with this, or did I just dream up that particular post?!?!?!
Thanks in advance!!

No you are not imagining it, we did talk a while ago about Proactiv. Maybe do a search for the name. In the meantime, Benzac actually has the same ingredient, benzyl peroxide. Cetaphil is an excellent cleanser but once a day I would be inclined to recommend Phisohex (contains triclosan, an antibacterial agent) and use the Cetaphil in the morning. I would avoid the Benzac wash if he is also using the Benzac pimple treatment, too drying. Make sure he is using the pimple treatment just on the spots, it's amazing how many people spread this around the face too. Good luck!

You are not imaginging it, I said it.
It was an Avon line, go to the Avon thread in skincare.

She got a stern talking to about the towels, don't you worry! :shakehead:
I would really like her to stop using Proactive as she doesn't have oily skin, its just hormonal. She has really dry skin (cracked lips, scaly hands & legs etc) she has allergies to stax of things thats why I always buy her really simple natural products. She says her skin has improved but I can't say the same. Of course she slathers the foundation on which is not likely to do her any favours. Alas I can't be more of an influence as she lives interstate with her mum 90% of the time.

It's hard but you have provided the advice and the products, hopefully one day soon she will realise that the harsh products are not suited to her skin. The foundation cant be helping, the pigments tend to be drying, hopefully she is using a moisturiser/sunscreen underneath.

That's definately the one, thanks Medusa. I think my mum will be extra pleased she gets a lot of Avon. Mum is at a loss at the moment trying to help him so I'm trying to help out by recommending products spoken about on this forum.
