So it's Valentines Day and I am here at my desk feeling strangely content. No Valentine for me this year. But why choose one when you can have ten?

In honor of my wonderful single mates (numbers are dwindling these days) who exude sheer brilliance I am celebrating with a ˜loveless dinner gathering by my baby up-ground pool.

What more could one want than an al fresco dinner (fancy french for a BBQ) with loved ones and a romantic swim at dusk. So there will probably be no saucy fondling or sweet nothings (well not unless you count a few hugs and beer induced ˜I love Yous'). And yes the romantic swim involves an oversized chlorinated up-ground pool from Kmart but there is indeed love in all this I tell you!

Stuff the cliches of romantic dinners and roses¦ Love is a random hug when you need one, passing you a wad of loo paper when you ran out in your cubicle, sharing the last beer, holding hands, holding back your hair when you vomit, feeling ok about being snotty nosed in their presence, a cup of tea without asking, putting you to bed when you are drunk, playing sad music so you can cry after a break up, telling you that you rock, doing the dishes when you are tired, changing the loo roll after they used the last bit and just pure and simple hanging out.

So for all you singles out there happy Valentines Day!

The lovely little things I do, or I have done for me??

- I make cupcakes or honey crackles randomly for one of my besties becasue I know she loves them

- Both of my best friends have (on a few BIG night occasions) stripped me, put me in the shower, washed my hair, and put me to bed when I'm 'slightly' intoxicated..lmao

- When I see my boyfriend he will randomly have a Bubble O Bill for me. (I love Bubble O Bill)

- I started a fight (in a drunken state) for one of my besties when some guy was being a looser!

Lovely things that get done for me:

- being invited over to watch my favourite TV shows on my friends 'home theatre'

- being told I deserve better after being treated rudely by a boy (i know it but nice to hear it)

- being sent Suga lollies from my friend in Melbourne for no reason

Things I try to do:

- making something yummy when I'm visiting 'just for a coffee'

- offering to babysit so my friends can have 'dates' with their hubbys

- taking my friend out of the house to a movie/coffee/pedicure so she can have some girl time (she's a stay at home mum)

- sending cards to interstate/overseas friends just to say 'hi' - so nice to get something in the mail these days!

What lovely friends you all are and have. Sarah I haven't had a bubble o bill in years! Might have to get someone to go and get me one! Just love the bubble gum nose!
