So it's Valentines Day and I am here at my desk feeling strangely content. No Valentine for me this year. But why choose one when you can have ten?
In honor of my wonderful single mates (numbers are dwindling these days) who exude sheer brilliance I am celebrating with a ˜loveless dinner gathering by my baby up-ground pool.
What more could one want than an al fresco dinner (fancy french for a BBQ) with loved ones and a romantic swim at dusk. So there will probably be no saucy fondling or sweet nothings (well not unless you count a few hugs and beer induced ˜I love Yous'). And yes the romantic swim involves an oversized chlorinated up-ground pool from Kmart but there is indeed love in all this I tell you!
Stuff the cliches of romantic dinners and roses¦ Love is a random hug when you need one, passing you a wad of loo paper when you ran out in your cubicle, sharing the last beer, holding hands, holding back your hair when you vomit, feeling ok about being snotty nosed in their presence, a cup of tea without asking, putting you to bed when you are drunk, playing sad music so you can cry after a break up, telling you that you rock, doing the dishes when you are tired, changing the loo roll after they used the last bit and just pure and simple hanging out.
So for all you singles out there happy Valentines Day!
