Do you wear your fragrances according to the season? A lot of people I know just wear whatever whenever but I just can't do this. I must have fragrances for winter and fragrances for summer. I like something lighter for summer and something stronger for winter. Does anyone else do this?

I have quite a varied collection of fragrances. I don't specifically have seasonal fragrances but they more depend on my mood. Some are definately for wear in warmer weather though - I'll wear Be Delicious on a hot day when I feel playful, or Island Michael Kors on a hot sensual day. Whereas Cinema by YSL can be a moody evening fragrance in the summer or gorgeous on chilly winter days too.

You are right Celestefay mood does play a role in determining which fragrance to wear. At the moment I am obsessed with my Jo Malone fragrances (probably because they are new) and I think they are divine for summer.

I am cautious of wearing anything too strong on my skin in summer as it seems to turn out really strong on my skin and once I gave a friend a migraine! The stronger fragrances don't last long on my skin in summer either as the heat makes them evaporate quickly.

I'm exactly the same. I tend to wear 'warmer' heavier fragrances in winter, and more fruity, breezy ones when its summer. It does depend on the mood though.:p

Absolutely! The only one I really love all year round is Narciso Rodriguez; the rest are very seasonal.

(Incidentally I also do this with wine... had a bubbles phase during December, riesling during January, and am obsessed with pinot noir at the moment :chuckle: )

There are some fragrances that I have that I'll wear any time of the year... but there are some that are definatley summer or winter fragrances. For example I have a Lancome one. I can't remember what it's called but it's in a big Orange bottle. It's really citrus-y and I can only wear it in Summer

I basically adhere to seasonal appropriateness, although I find that some lighter floral frags can carry through both summer and winter. Aquatic or beachy notes of course feel out of place in winter, and I don't like gourmand (vanilla, cinnamon, sugar) in summer. But there are quite a lot of perfumes (usually fairly generic florals or white florals with a white musk base) that can be worn all through the year.

I dont adhere at all to this!

I find that some of my more "winter" fragrances (and I am an Oriental girl at heart) can be more noticeable in the warmer weather when body temp is hotter. Seem to get more comments on them. Afraid I dont own too many "lighter" fragrances!

I like to wear any scent more in winter than summer. For some reason all my fragrances appear to smell better on me in the colder months. I am a bit reluctant to wear heavier scents in summer because when I have done in the past people have complained that I give them headaches.

I do tend to wear certain fragrances in winter that I wouldn't in summer...particularly rose-based scents and orientals. I associate Stella McCartney with winter, and Agent Provacateur. In summer I lean towards the light white florals. Agree with you on the mood thing though too PCC, and even outfit choice.

Renee Jasmine could be my year-round fragrance note though. Really loving it.
