Have any Adorables tried any of these? I am particularly interested in the clear skin ones.

Dont know the ingredient list with these but if they contain anti-oxidents and zinc they would be a great idea. All of these are superb skin supplements.

According to Adore web description, it contains:
"Vit A 1250IU, Zinc (as Amino Acid Chelate) 12.5mg, Evening Primrose Oil 250mg equiv. Gamma Linolenic Acid 25mg, Echinacea purpurea extract equiv. fresh herb 5000mg."
I actually take Blackmores supplements- the bio zinc as well as the evening primrose plus fish oil, so perhaps this combo is basically the same thing...
Has anybody else had any luck with any other forms of skin suppliments?

Sapphire, your combo is fine, and getting more zinc. Vit A is helpful in a supplement but can be toxic in too high a dose and should be avoided in pregnancy too. A general multi vitamin would be ideal to include too.

Thank you, Luisa. I think the bio zinc I take has Vitamin A in it too, plus magnesium and some B vitamins. x

I have never taken any supplements except for vitamin C. As I have to take a lot of medication every day for the rest of my life I have never been interested in taking anything other than what's absolutely essential.
I am thinking I would like to try some of these supplement thingies. I will discuss it with my doctor just to make sure it's ok first.

Flaxseed Oil is also apparently excellent for your hair and skin. It contains all the essential fats like Omega3 and 6. Although if you are taking fish oil it'll prob have the same effect.
I'm currently taking Nails, Hair and Skin from Blackmores and truly believe my skin is improving. For the first time in ages I haven't developed any nasty time-of-the-month spots.

That's great, Jaime- I've really liked the bio zinc. My skin and nails in particular have been fantastic since using this.

Sapphire, that's great news about it containing all those things, Blackmores usually have good amounts of each in their supplements.
The Hair Skin and Nails is particularly good too as an all round supplement for each of these concerns. It contains silica and was clinically tested. You need to complete two bottles (a twelve week course) but then only need to take again when you feel they need a boost.

Luisa, you are so informative re these things :)
What about the bio zinc and/or epo/fish oil- how long should I take these. And should I take them every day? I have been using the bio zinc for quite a few months now, but the oil one only for a month I think.

Hi Sapphire,
Yes take each day and with the zinc make sure you are sticking to the recommended dosage. Keep up with the fish oil, it's a great supplement for everyone to take as we dont eat nearly enough oily fish to be getting this with a supplement. You can take up to three a day, I would take at least two in divided doses after something to eat.

I recently broke out really badly (still recovering :( ) after 3 weeks of using ultraceuticals (could be product or could be coincidence, not sure) So i tried a month supply of these tablets. I think they helped a little, no miracles or anything. However my whole office & my household all got very very sick with the Noro (flu) virus & i was unscathed !! i think those capsules have the highest content of Ecchanaeca then any other product on the market. So i would buy them again for sure !
A cheap website to get them from is **********.com

What products were you using, BecQLD? Ultraceuticals products are very strong so there is potential for disaster if you're using the wrong products for your skin condition.

I was just using the milky cleanser, exfoliant, toner & ultra moisture moisturiser.
After i began to beak out i began to use the oil free moisturiser & got some clear skin tablets.
I persevered for about a month, but still continued to break out alot :(

That's unusual... there's not actually anything in any of those products that would clog pores. Are you usually breakout prone? Did you have a consultation with a beauty therapist before purchasing?

Yes the lady at the counter was very helpful & helped me alot. She also said it was very strange too, as i was using nothing with active ingredients.
It just didnt seem to work for me.
I used to break out alot as a teenager & when i was pregnant i had terrible skin. But i went on the Yasmin Pill a few years ago & my skin has been Perfect since.... up until about 3 weeks into using this product :( I kept using it for a further maybe 2 months. But it didnt clear up. I am a week into using my YUVA products & it has eased alot i think. Hopefully in a few weeks i will be back to normal skin. Fingers crossed

Were you menstrual or premenstrual when you tried them? I have a rule NEVER to try new products if I am because my skin can be a bit temperamental anyway. Also, did you try new makeup at the same time? Were you stressed or unwell? These can all make a difference.

I would have to admit that i am having quite a bit of stress lately in a relationship, but would that cause a horrific breakout ? I know it can bring out the occasional spot, but a whole breakout :(
Get stressed, break out, get stressed about skin.... talk about vicous cycle !

Being emotionally stressed can do crazy things to you. If it can make you skip periods or alter your cycle (as it has done for me in the past when I was very stressed) then of course it can make your break out. The skin is part of the body and as such is intrinsically linked to our emotions, health and wellbeing. Think of it - if you get a cold the body reacts; if you are stressed, the body reacts.
Also, remember that taking supplements takes a while before they have an effect, usually around 12 weeks or more (Allison or Kate can confirm this or correct me!). So as hard as it is, you do need to be tenacious!
