Hello!

I am just about at the end of my current shampoo/conditioner - being the Sebastian Body Double. My hair is so fine and this did slightly thicken it. However, made it slightly knotty as well and really didn't do anything much to the condition of my hair. So I'm not repurchasing.

With the Kevin Murphy thread it got me thinking "which range or single products work the best?"

I'm thinking GHD, Kevin Murphy (although gets mixed reviews from other forums), Kerestase (tried this years ago when I was a poor student and only found it so-so - but I am talking over ten years ago). Oh, and Fredrick Fakkai.

Which products will you re-purchase again and again? My only repurchase would be my Sebastian Body Double Thick-In light spray - brilliant for thickening on special days!

I think GHD products are REALLY nice. I love the shampoo and conditioer that i got a sample of... it made my hair super soft.
I also am really enjoying using Aesop

I have heard good things about the GHD range too. Love the Hairscreen and Staying Alive from Kevin Murphy and will try out some other things in his range (too bad they come in particularly small sizes as I have very long hair!). The salon ranges really do make an impact on hair health and condition but I have also been super impressed with the Alchemy range of shampoos, conditioners, leave in and mask products. Really worth a go, leave hair in top condition and contain no nasties.

Hi Melissa - it might be worth giving Kerastase another go, their Bain Satin line is beautiful and they have a volumnising range as well.

But at the moment I'm using Alchemy and I love it! Like Luisa said, if you like natural products you'll really like these. They're available from Adore. You can't go past the Macadamia & Wheat Conditioner, it's fab.

For styling I'm keen on Tigi Root Boost for texture and volume, KMS Hairplay for definition and Redken Glass Smoothing Serum for shine. But my next order is definitely KEVIN.MURPHY. Probably a bulk buy-up!

Melissa I have baby fine hair also. It is very healthy and soft though. I guess sometimes you just have to make the best of what you've got. I love the Cow Shed range from Kit. I have honestly never used a conditioner like it in my life. It feels like silk upon application and after use my hair feels awesome. It's a little more expensive than average due to it coming from the U.K but I would definitely recommend it to anyone to try. You can also but little 100ml travel bottles for around $20 each. I make sure I apply a mask to my hair atleast once a week which helps it stay healthy.

For volume I use a volumising spray at the roots prior to blow drying. However when I am going out I use hot rollers to give my hair a bit of oomph!

I have used Nexxus in the past and it worked very well. My hair is fizzy and boofy the day I wash it but gets oily quite quickly. I hate washing my hair often as its quite thick and im growing it so its a real effort to do anything with it. Im on the hunt for my holy grail hair products at the moment.

Is Alchemy good for think, wavy, dry but oily hair?

Has anyone ever heard of or used the brand nuk (think that's how it's spelled). My hairdresser uses it but doesn't sell it. It isn't available in Tassie.

Hi Tim Tam, the Lemongrass (for oily) or Mandarin (for everyday, all hair types) shampoos should be fine for your hair. Although I love the Macadamia and Wheatgerm cond, it may not be suitable for you. Another lovely one is the Avocado and Jojoba. Just make sure you are applying to just the lengths of hair to avoid an oily scalp whichever product you choose.

Thanks pickcupcake, I will look at the Cow Shed range - forgot about Kit to be honest, was in all the time when it first opened (buying the Korres range at the time amongst others). I remember years ago using a Goldwell Avocado Hair Mask which was very good too - I really need to keep a list of all this stuff to go back to!;)

Just got my fredrick fakkai (trying saying that when your drunk!!!) glossing shampoo and conditioner.

Will post my review when I've tried.

ps....also got some Jo Malone samples of Jo Malone's Ginseng day cream (which apparently is better for night???) but gets great reviews on makeup alley .com, and the green tea eye cream. Small plug for rammyrunner as she threw in a beautiful box and a free body lotion for free - and a melted choccy!!! Love it when they do that :encore:

Hi pinkcupcake,

The samples are just gorgeous! I already had the Jo Malone perfume and bath oil - now I have the ginseng day cream, and the green tea eye cream and they are just as gorgeous. The day cream smells adorable, I have been using it at night and also during the day - it goes on smoothly, and sinks in nicely - no oilies for me. Again, it smells lovely - like my grandmothers old creams. The eye cream sinks in well, and I can see howit has smoothed out my eye area - which can be a bit dry. All in all, I am loving these, will definately repurchase both, although Im sure the samples will last a while!!

PS...I am now a Jo Malone all round fan!!! (but yet to try the Molton Brown night creamthat I ordered:fish: !!!)

Thought I'd update.....

I've been using the Fredrick Fakkai glossing shampoo and conditioner on and off for two weeks (approx) now. I have to say that I am suitably impressed.:hearts: It doesn't make my fine hair "fluffy", and leaves it with a clean shine. It is easily manageable after this, but extremely soft (which is good when wearing it down, but hard if you want to wear it up, as it slips out :( ).

It has a pleasant smell, which slightly lingers on your hair, but is not overpowering like some cheaper shampoos. It blow drys well too - but am refraining from making big claims here as my hairdryer is less than impressive (cheapest one I could find at the time...in between jobs, and just haven't got around to buying a decent one!!:o ).)

just looking through these old posts to see if there was some info for me , there isn't so i'm going to revive it to ask around:spin:
firstly has anyone with fine hair used the following Kevin Murphy lines with any success ?
KEVIN.MURPHY Anti.Gravity & the Angel hair wash & rinse
& i'm in the market for a new hair dryer was wanting to know if it is worthwhile to get an ionic one . I have fine hair that is layered , above my shoulders & i either style it "messed up" or I blow dry straight with a round brush , also is there any point in using / getting a diffuser.
thanks guys:kissing:

Ive got this one too Melissa. Ive never used a volumising product befor but i like this one. I spray it on the roots and a bit through to the ends just through the top layers of my hair.
