View Full Version : Tanning body moisturisers question

Hi all,
I have just purchased L'Oreals Nutri Summer "build a tan" moisturiser in the aim of getting a healthy colour, and have a question; can I just rub a tanning moisturiser on and then get dressed straight away? Or do I need to wait for a bit for it to dry? Will I rub the tan off by dressing too soon? It doesn't specify on the tube and I think this topic was touched on somewhere in this forum, but I can not find where it was.

Hi BPJ,
You can pretty much get dressed straight away, although personally I like to give it a couple of minutes to soak in - not because it will get on your clothes, more just because I don't like the feeling of my clothes sticking to me :)

Hi BPJ, I don't think this should be a problem. The actual tan wont be visible until after about 2-3 applications. You certainly wont get 'streaks' if you dress too quickly. Although I probably wouldn't do it too often, I know some of these products can rub onto clothing. Back when I was using these I did a workout one day, and when I took my training bra off there was a 'tan coloured sweat mark'. (Noice) :chuckle:
I just treat this like a body lotion, and I generally don't like to dress until the lotion is dry anyway, feels sticky.

I am going to try and answer this when I stop laughing about your "training bra"! That's what we used to call those first bras that you get when your boobs start growing!
I have been using the Palmers Natural Bronzing moist with self tan and my colour comes up in a couple of hours. My legs are really pale so I only use this once or twice a week. I agree, I leave it for a few mins before getting dressed. However,I did apply it once before going to bed and didnt have any probs.

I've been using the Nivea one, and found that it is quiet "watery" compared to most, so it dries much quicker than others I have tried. Great if you are in a rush. I also think its a great product. Ive been blessed with a Moon Tan (extreme paleness!) and found that it gives the right amount of colour.

I've been using that L'Oreal tanning moisturiser for a while. I usually wait 5-10 minutes before I get dressed because it does stain your clothing. My sports bra got a little on it too :clapping:

Now with summer around the corner (even though it doesn't feel like it today brrrr) & with the explosion of tanning moisturisers on the market, I was wondering if anyone has tried a tanning moisturiser that doesn't have that fake tan smell after the moisturiser's fragrance fades.
The first one I tried last year was Johnson's Holiday Skin - quite nice & also gives a bit of a shimmer. Next, Dove brought out one, so I tried that one. It was a bit thicker than Johnsons & I found it more difficult to get absorbed, but the fragrance was quite nice. But still, once that fragrance fades, you're left smelling of a fake tan the next day.
Has anyone tried Garnier, Palmers, Neutrogena or L'Oreal? I've heard Nivea's is meant to be good as well. I can see myself roadtesting all of these though lol!!

Bluemelon I'm glad you asked this!! I have been reading lately that there is a newer ingredient being used in fake tans that does not have that smell. I can't remember what it's called but I'm pretty sure the new Le Tan Gradual Tanner has the new ingredient, whereas the others (Nivea, Dove, Johnsons) etc have the old ingredient. I am doing some research at this very moment and will get back to you!!

OK i just did a bit of quick reading, and i think the main gist is that the standard ingredient in self-tan is DHA (dihydroxyacetone), which reacts with the amino acids in your skin, turning it brown. The DHA is what stinks. Apparently this newer ingredient, Erythrulose, has no smell and produces a more natural looking shade of brown. However, most products still have DHA even if they contain erythrulose. I think erythrulose will become more common in self-tanners, but until then I suppose we need to read ingredient lists very carefully and look for ones that have erythrulose higher up on the list, and DHA lower down.
My apologies bluemelon, but looking back on it I think that the Le Tan product did have DHA in it.
I think the trick is just to go through all of them and find what is best for you. Everyone's skin has different acidity levels etc, so products will smell different on everyone. I've heard people say that Nivea has no smell, whereas on me it is absolutely rank and disgusting. It's all a matter of trial and error I think.
Believe me, if I found a gradual tanner that had no smell, I would shout it from the heavens, because the smell absolutely stresses me!!!

Thanks for your quick reply! Sorry, I went off to watch the footy grand final, because my team Port were playing. I didn't realise it was going to be such a painful game - I am going to have to drown my embarassment and disbelief in some beauty therapy I think lol :redcheeks::redcheeks::shakehead:
I think you're right - everyone's skin reacts differently, so it's going to be a matter of trying different brands. I think I might try the Nivea one next. Lucky they're not too expensive, so it's not too much of a problem to chop and change between brands frequently. Thanks again:)

I've been using the Palmers one this last week or so and have been quite happy with the results. The colour isn't too bad and the smell just smells like the normal Palmers smell.... just make sure you do wash your hands - I forgot one day and had little brown palms! :chuckle:

I don't know what it is about me, maybe it's my skin's chemistry, but EVERY fake tan or tanneriser smells absolutely foul on me after a few hours. The only one that hasn't been stinky on me so far is the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze gel, and I think that's because it has a high alcohol content and so the alcohol smell sort of covers up the tan smell. But seriously, there must be something rank in my skin, because I can't wear TBS Body Butters either - they lose their scent and smell RANCID on me after about twenty minutes. Bleuch.

Well, I've made a find! A few days ago I picked up Target's own brand of Tanneriser called Holiday Glow (imaginative name) and I used it this morning. It had NO discernable smell at first, not even a faint lotion smell. As the day progressed, I could sense only the tiniest bit of fake tan smell, but I had to literally put my nose to my arm in order to smell it. The only downside is, I don't think I am any browner at all. :( Maybe its DHA content is so small as to be negligible. But on the upside, my skin is VERY soft and feels incredibly moisturised. I'm going to buy some more of this stuff.
OH OH OH OH guess how much it was?!! $1.54 on sale! Yes that'sright! $1.54 for a big bottle!!! I think its regular price is $5.99 which is still awesome. I also picked up Target's own brand of self-tanner mousse, but when I got home I realised the shade was "extra dark". Hmm. Might give it a whirl on my legs tonight....or maybe not....

No they don't, it's part of their suncare range (even though the tanneriser and self-tanner have no SPF) which comprises about four or five different products.
BTW I used the mousse formulation self-tanner last night, am VERY impressed. Nice deep brown colour and was very easy to use and apply. Who knew?!

Wow, that sound nice. Maybe with the tanning lotion it will take quite a few applications to get some colour. That's why I tend to buy the lotions for medium to dark skin as oppose to the ones for fair skin, because I generally get the colour I want after 2 or 3 applications. Kind of defeats the purpose of being a moisturiser in that you're meant to use it every day, but it's just so much more goof proof than using a self tanner.

I hate tan marks they always happen to me no matter what I do! I've been using Dove Summer Glow and it's really good. The colour developed the 1st day even though it says it colours in 5 days  It doesn't smell rank on me but I have tan marks under my arms where my bra goes, so one bit is brown and the other is white! So bad! :shakehead: Does anyone know how to get rid of fake tan? I heard whitening toothpaste helps, haven't tried it though...

You can buy self tan remover for your skin from chemists, priceline etc. Adore stock Modelco and St Tropez.

natural_beauty, most toners that contain alcohol will get rid of it fairly quickly. It's such a superficial layer, I usually find that one good exfoliation will get rid of an application of tanneriser.

Oz when you wash your hands after youve finshed self tanning (and of course you then need to moisturise your hands) just lightly blend it in between the fingers, and around your wrists etc.

Has anyone tried it?

I think i would have to be the worst tanner ever!!!! I never get a good application, it's either streaky, orange, uneven or i completely miss an area or all of the above.
I think i have a dodgey spray nozzle on my can because its just so weak in areas and really strong in other. So i think i'm goning to go back to the Palmers tanneriser and see how i go. Wish me luck!!

Hey PP - I could never get those tans in a can to apply evenly. So what I do is get a couple of those cotton pads/wipes that you apply toner/makeup remover on & I spray the tan liberally on there & apply it on my skin. I get a more even coverage that way. Otherwise there's no way I can get those spray cans to do an even half decent job - they are horrible. I know I end up going through quite a few of those cotton pads, because you need to use 2 or 3 at once so it doesn't go through on your fingers, but it's better than having streaks and spots on your arms and legs!:redcheeks:

That does sound like an interesting way to apply the fake tab, but i think the reason i'm having no success with the spray cans is because i bought the wrong one. I bought the Loreal dry mist one and i think its just too dry. So i'll use it all up and then see what i can have a go with. Its really frustrating when it never works out.
Ozlicious
08-10-2007, 05:14 PM
PP I have never been able to get a very reliable, even application from a spray. Get yourself a gel or creme formulation and just use your hands to blend! So much easier! Then you can graduate to a quicker-drying mousse once you feel more confident.

Tanline is quite good & is the one I use. I did try the ModelCo one, but found it a tad too dark for my skin. Tanline also has something called Plantolin in it, which makes your skin really really smooth - I love it. I guess that with any self tanning product, you need to have patience with it & it can get really frustrating at times. That's why I've been using the tanning moisturisers lately because they are so much easier!

Oh good i thought it was just me that coulnd't work a spray can tan. I think i need to be more accurate with my application of the tannerisers also because i can't get it even enough.
My friends uses the Tanline spray and absolutely loves it , but she is nowhere near as white a si am. But i'll just have to trial and error an see what ilike best.
With the tannerisers should i continue rubbing the cream all the way in? making sure its gone from my skin because its so thick and creamy the Palmers one and takes forever to absorb.
bluemelon
08-10-2007, 05:38 PM
Yeah I think you should try to get it absorbed into your skin as much as possible, because even though they do have lower concentrations of tanning agents than self tanning creams/lotions, they still have the potential to streak (I learnt that one day when I didn't rub the cream properly around my wrist area & had lovely golden wrist bands!).
So far I've tried Johnsons and Dove, and I found Johnson's absorbed easier and quicker because it's not as thick as the Dove.

Ohhh Medusa! I feel your pain! But staying as white as possible can be fun in its own way (shut up, it can!). You can exfoliate all you like (well you know, as much as your skin can take) without worrying about stripping off your tan, and you dont have to worry about actives causing your tan to have a patchy appearance - you just have to concentrate on letting all your beautiful new white skin cells come through!

Hi everyone
I was wondering if anyone who is familiar with Nivea's tannerisers can clear up what the difference is between the Nivea Body Summer Beauty lotion, and the Nivea Body Sunkissed Skin lotion. Both seem to be moisturisers with a hint of self-tanner, but from what I understand, the Sunkissed Skin also has a skin firming effect? Is this right? If anyone has used both - is one better than the other?
Thanks:)

Thanks - yeah I noticed that the packaging was different for some of them. Some have a straight bottle & some have a curved bottle. I ordered the Sunkissed Skin one, so see how that goes. I got it in medium-dark, even though I'm fair, so I can get a result quicker ;)

Finally got around to applying the Nivea Sunkissed Skin lotion this morning on my arms. Firstly the fragrance - to me it smells like apricots. I noticed there is a sticker on the bottle which says 'new fragrance', so that must be it!
Consistency wise - it's fairly runny & similar to the consistency of Johnsons Holiday Skin. I think it may possibly be a little more runnier than Johnsons. But I don't mind this, because I've been using Dove's tanneriser prior to this, and I found it to be pretty thick for a lotion. For me, Dove is borderline between a lotion and a cream. Nivea is definitely a light lotion. Because of this, I found that it was easier to blend into my skin & it also got absorbed quicker. Also, it didn't feel as sticky as Dove.
Colour wise - very nice. I got the one for medium-dark skin, so it's developed into quite a nice colour after one application - very natural & no streaks anywhere. I also applied some on my legs over the top of my Tantowel tan, and it has evened the tan out quite nicely. Also, from what I recall from using Johnsons, it gave me a slight shimmer on my skin, but this one doesn't. But I don't mind that.
In terms of the skin-firming component, I reckon it's going to take a few applications to see any results from this. But for me, tanning my skin makes it look firmer anyway, so I'm a satisfied customer! So far, I'm happy with it - I guess it depends if you prefer a more runny tanneriser or a thick one, as I can't really pick out a colour difference between the three brands. But I've just found that this one got absorbed quicker and better, and is also less sticky.

Hi Oz - honestly, I could hardly smell the fake tan! I couldn't believe it, considering it should have more self-tanner because it is the medium-dark one. I'm not sure if it's because of the way it's reacting with my skin, but I have no issue with it. Hopefully it's like that on everyone's skin, because then it's definitely worth a try if you have issues with that smell. I find the Dove one quite strong as well.

I'm now a Palmers Natural Bronze convert. :worship: Everything else (tanning moisturisers and self tanners) these days goes orange and streaky or doesn't work on me at all (I'm looking at you, St Tropez). I'm naturally quite pale with olive undertones, so I don't know why my favourite tanners have started doing this. Maybe it's my older skin. :redcheeks:
I'm now a beautiful soft bronze after one coat, even used it on my face with no ill effects, and I have oily skin. I liked it so much I bought the supermarket out of their shelf stock. Ummm... it was on sale, so that means I can buy more, yes?

With self-tanning moisturisers, do the ones that say 'normal to darker' indicate that the product is for darker skin or does it mean the product has more of the self-tanning ingredient in it so you get a faster result (even though it's a self-tannig moisturiser).

Hey Oz,
Im using the nivea one and its sooo hard to rub in completly, anyone else find this? Its really runny and smells like yoghurt.
The dove one does give a fab colour.

I actually found that because the Nivea one is runnier, it's easier to rub in & gets absorbed easier and quicker. To me, it smells like apricots - have you got the one that says 'new fragrance' on the lid?
The Dove one is great in terms of the colour, but I found it took ages to get it rubbed in completely because it is so thick, and it also left me feeling sticky somewhat. And the self tanner smell (after the nice fragrance fades) was quite noticeable. I don't have that problem with the Nivea one though - maybe it's because different skin reacts differently to the product ingredients.

Yes I found with Dove it gave a nice colour, but took ages to develop, even after a couple of applications. I felt like I was rubbing it in for ages too....

I just hated the Nivea, but then again I haven't used the "new scent" one - the older one I used was the most foul, horrendous scent on the face of the Earth. The colour was so-so, could have been darker for my tastes.
Dove gave a nice-ish colour, but it was so thick and took SOOOO long to sink into my skin! Like HOURS! And even then when I went to bed, the outside of my leg would be all rubbed off from sleeping on my side. I also hated the smell (the smell of this self-tan has actually turned me off all Dove products - they are SO heavily scented with that Dove smell) and the tan smell became really bad on me.
Palmers - I adore the consistency, it sinks in so quickly (you just need to keep rubbing, but it sinks into my skin in about a minute) and my skin doesn't feel sticky and lotiony for ages afterwards. The smell is pretty wrong - like bad plants mixed with chemicals - and the fake tan smell is there afterwards, but it's not too bad. I love the colour this gives!! One application is enough to give you a definite colour, and I think two or three consecutive nights would give you all the colour you needed. I wish they made this one for the face!!!

Is this the cocoa butter tanneriser, or is there a new one out? I wasn't too keen on the cocoa butter smell - I've got the Leg Gloss, which looks like melted milk chocolate, but has that cocoa smell that I'm not very fond of.
The lovely girls at Kit sent me a sample of the Kit tanneriser, which I haven't got around to trying yet, but it smells just like coconuts!

Just got a question for those of you who have tried Kit's tanneriser. I tried some today on my arms & I found that it's on the thick side (similar to Dove, but not quite as thick). But despite this, I found it got absorbed super quick. Now I'm wondering whether I applied it evenly all over my arms, because it got absorbed so quickly that I couldn't really tell where I had applied it!
Did anyone else find this? Other than that, I'm loving the fact that I can't feel anything on my skin (no stickiness or greasiness or any type of residue, unlike Johnsons and Dove) and the fragrance is really nice. I can't smell any hint of fake tan, so I'm thinking that the concentration is very low & I don't have to ever worry about streaking.

OK, just an update on the Kit tanneriser sample I used up the other day (seeing as tannerisers are my current obsession lol!). I love the fact that it absorbed so well & left no feeling of having anything on my arms - and my arms feel sooo smooth. But....because it absorbed so well, and so quickly, the palms of my hands also developed a lovely tan, even though I washed my hands well. The colour is really really nice, and I didn't end up getting the streaks I thought I would. And I like the fragrance as well. Also - no fake tan smell after!
So now I'm 90% certain I want this. The 10% uncertainty is because it was on the thickish side & also that it tanned my palms as well. Hmmmm......what to do, what to do...... I only got the Nivea one a few weeks ago, but think I like this one better And I really want to try the new Palmers olive one you guys mentioned.
bluemelon, I have used both the Kit and the Palmers' Olive one, and for the price I think the Palmers' is waaaaaay better!

Yep the sunless goddess - I'm pretty sure it's just a taneriser and that's how I've been treating it - it fades so much nicer as well unlike others which are obvisouly patchy. Colour is nice and golden and natural, it's much lighter than the Kit one and the Palmers and absorbs lovely - my skin is so soft the next morning still from it.
It doesn't smell at all like fake tan, just like Summer.

My Nivea tanneriser tan just doesn't last long enough & now I'm not too keen on the colour either. I can't believe how quickly it fades. The sample of the Kit one lasted 5 times longer than this, and the colour was beautiful. Dove & Johnsons definitely last longer too, but the fake tan smell is stronger. So I guess I need to find a comprimise one in the middle - one that smells not too bad, but lasts a while!
I have been really lazy with my tanneriser, but over the weekend I realised with horror just how pale my legs are!! Last night I put on two coats of my Palmers Olive Butter Tanneriser and now I have lovely brown legs. The only problem was that I had one dark brown knee, but i fixed that with a wee exfoliation this morning.

Well, my journey with tannerisers continues after my not so great experience with the Nivea one. I now have Kit's Tan Building Body Lotion & I have to say - best by far.
I had tried a sample about a month ago & even with that small amount, I was very impressed. I'm glad I've got the full size pump now. It's on the thick side (similar to Dove), but I find that I have no problem with application & get no streaking whatsoever. The scent is meant to be an exotic tropical scent, which it is, but I can also smell a bit of musk in it.
Anyway, what I love most about it is the gorgeous colour (no orange at all), the way it makes my skin feel so smooth (because it has a bit of AHA in it as well), the way it absorbs quickly & leaves absolutely no stickiness or residue at all (it's totally matte!), and the colour also lasts quite a few days without reapplying. And the fake tan smell is nothing like Dove's. Definitely found a winner here.
I also got Mecca's Sunless Goddess tanning cream before Christmas, as I had a store credit. This one is definitely a full tanning product on my skin - gave a very distinct colour the day after. I ended up missing a couple of spots, but fixed that up with a couple of applications of tanneriser. So this product is good for getting a tan quicker.

I can't rave enough about the Kit tanneriser! I've been really sloppy as well with a couple of applications & thought - oh oh, I'm going to end up with blotches and missed spots, but I never have. And my skin feels so nice with it on - so much smoother. I had those goosebumpy things on part of my left arm (keratosis pilaris), and they have virtuallly gone since I've been using it. I think the AHAs in it have really helped, and I think that's why it is so good overall.

Yeah agreed! I think my skin felt the smoothest and most supple with this one - it is definitely more than just a tannerirer which I think is the only let down with the other ones.
I do hate the container though - I wish it was a tube or a tub. The tanning glove I've been using gets me a far better result as well, so will use that with the Kit which I will go get after work or tomorrow after my hair.

It is expensive, but it is so worth it. A little goes a long way as well - it's thickish, but spreads well. I got one of those little sample containers of it & managed to get 1 and a half arm applications (ie I did one application on my arm, and the next day did another with what was left, but just fell short a little). That's a point Oz. Skins will react differently to different tannerizers. Mine looks great with the Palmers but may not suit someone else. When all else fails, you could try a wash off variety like Chi Chi Solarium in a Bottle. VeeE bought one from Sugar Baby which smells good too. Good luck!
bluemelon
28-01-2008, 11:39 AM
Agree with Luisa - everyone's skin will be different. It's a matter of trial and error I guess.
Honestly, I don't believe there is any self-tanning product that gives an exact replica of the 'true tan' look, but some do come close. For me, Kit's tanneriser is great - colour wise and also application wise. Because it has AHAs in it, it smooths out your skin so you don't get any blotchiness.
I also got fairly good results with Dove and J&J. Dove was a bit too thick and sticky though, and had a strong smell after. The Nivea one had too much of a red-orange tinge to it & just faded very quickly.
So after trying all these - Kit definitely wins hand down. It's more expensive, but worth it.

But I still woke up this morning with the damn tan smell!
Oh and BTW do any other pale girls ever think that tanneriser is just as much trouble as real tanner and you should just use self-tan if you're going to use tanneriser anyway?! Cos that's how I feel sometimes! I'm pale enough that tanneriser shows up streaks and blotches on me so I always think "why don't I just tan properly, then i wouldn't have to do this for four or five days...". Ahhh well.

Well last night I found my Kit package in my GARAGE!! Obviously the postie had put it in there thinking it'd be safe and dry and I'd find it eventually. Lucky I went in there last night!! Anyhoo, I had a shower and applied it last night. I am impressed - my arms do look nice and hydrated and quite a nice colour. It still took a while to dry on me, but I did like the initial smell.
Ahhh well.
I don't get the whole "tan" smell thing, I don't notice it? I find I still smell like the scent. The lotion is a bit different and you're hands afterwards are like when you've used mouse, but easy to wash off. My skin and colour are always looking best with this, but I cna't do my whole body, but thats with anything. Going to get another spray tan I think.

I think it's something in my skin that brings out the tan smell really badly, which is why I can't apply tan in the morning - I will stink all day. Other people notice it on me too (ie my brother - he even joined a facebook group called "you might be tan but you smell like a dumbass") but my mum has never noticed a fake tan smell on herself at all. Weird.
Even after i have had a shower and gotten rid of all the fake tan residue, i can sometimes still smell it in my skin if it's a humid day.

Well i am super paranoid about bad smells. I wash my hair probably more often than normal because that dirty hair smell almost makes me want to gag.

Hey Oz - glad you finally got it. I didn't find I had any problem with streaking/blotching with the Kit tanneriser because of the AHA's in it. And there was one time I applied it so haphazardly that I was sure I would get streaks, but I didn't. Just make sure you continue to exfoliate while you use it & you should be right.
I didn't really have a problem with the fake tan smell of the Kit tanneriser. You still get a little, but no where near as bad as Dove or a full on tanning product. Maybe you're just extra sensitive to that particular chemical - it does happen. Smells that most people are OK with make others nauseous.

Yeah I think I am particularly susceptible to tan smell! I really think there's something in my skin (maybe cos it's oily, I dunno) that exacerbates the smell. I also still do have some blotching around my hands and ankles/feet - but that happens to me with every tanner on Earth. Because I am highly unco.
I bought the Nivea 'new scent' one today which I have actually never tried, so I'll try that next!

I got a tan today - god it looks so much better - this is how I am sposed to be - at least my olive genes are slowly coming and not completely dead and will look like my mum.
I am working around in stripey white Bonds and nothing else admiring myself :chuckle:

I had a wonderful tanning experience on Saturday night. I had decided to stay in for a touch of pampering, and do a proper exfoliation (with a Riffi mit) and then have a bath and tan. I had packed all my bubble baths though that usually sit around the bath, so had a quick hunt to see what I had lying around, unpacked. And found - drumroll please - Shizen Never Oily Bath Oil. I squeezed some in the bath, then read the back of the bottle and saw that you can apply it to your dry skin and massage in before jumping in the bath. So I did. And geeeeeeeez - I felt so luxurious and smooth and hydrated! Had a soak, got out, used the St Tropez moisturising lotion sample from the Adore weekend goodie bag, then applied the St Tropez whipped mousse. I thought it was going on really dark, but in the morning it wasn't so dark and I realised I should have done a second coat. Anyhoo, it left my hands pretty brown so I used the sample of the tan remover too, which was fab and left my hands all fresh and normal-coloured. And no streaks!!! As I said, next time I think I will do two coats, but I was sooo pleased with the result and the Shizen bath oil!

How devine C! :whipcrack:
The Shizen Oil sounds fab!
I love the St Tropez tanning mousse but would never apply it without the tan remover for my hands. It is such a great efficient product.

Is this a good product for us virgins of the bottled tan? I would love something that is relatively easy and dries quickly and I can see what I'm putting on. I always end up with yellow ankles!!!

The Napoleon or St Tropez mousse would be good for you Catherine. Mousse dries super-quickly and you can usually see where you've rubbed it in. Only problem is that sometimes it dries TOO quickly and goes streaky/blotchy before you've had time to rub it in properly.

I have to share something funny with you guys. On Friday when I was in the city I went to Chemist Warehouse and there was this really old guy there (he must have been in his 80's) asking the sales assistant about tanning moisturisers. I was wainting on some scripts and about 20 minutes later I went back down the aisle and here was this old guy still asking the SA about this tanning moisturiser. All I heard him say was " I don't want it to look un-natural on me, just a subtle tan! Sorry if I sound ageist but I thought it was hysterical!!

Well I've used the Kit about three times now and I do like it, but it's not really any better or worse than any other. The colour is maybe a bit nicer - browner - and the initial smell is very nice, but in the end it's almost the same as the other ones!

Catherine I think you would be fine. I am not very skilled at tan application, but it looked fine - I just made sure I rubbed it in quickly and properly.

I think I iwill give this a go because usually I am so impatient and something that works really quick is a good thing.
