Do you have a favourite fragrance of all time? Is there any one fragrance that you can't run out of?

I have so many favourite fragrances. I have favourites for certain moods and I love some fragrances simply because they remind me of someone or something.
My lasting favourite seems to be Creme Bouquet by Stila. Its notes include:
Pink Lilac, Lily of The Valley and Vanilla.
Also I would be interested to hear about any new fragrances that have been launched that anyone has had a chance to road test!

The one which has the most memories attatched to it is Femme by Rochas as I bought my first bottle on my first trip to Paris. Notes of peach, plum, jasmine, rose, patchouli and musk.
My lasting favourite is L'or de Torrente. Difficult to find here although I do remember seeing it in the old Grace Bros (now Myer store) in Sydney. Made in Paris but widely available in Asia and the US. Beautiful bottle with gold leaves forming the atomiser. Contains rose, iris, tangerine, lychee, kiwi, blackcurrent leaves, magnolia leaves, vanilla orchid, white amber and woods. So distintive and the Eau de Parfum strength is so long lasting.
Never without either of these in my perfume wardrobe.

I am so obsessed with perfume! I have many faves:
- Dune by Christian Dior
- j'adore by Christian Dior
- white musk from the Body Shop
just to name a few!
I also got that tester pack of perfumes from the Body Shop - I have so much fun creating my own fragrance! :p

I'm a fragrance floozy, I don't think I've ever actually used one up and then repurchased! I get bored of them by the time I get to the bottom of the bottle.
Wait - I tell a lie. I used to wear Eau Dynamisante all the time back in the day when I used to work for Clarins (this is going back 8 years) and I still really love it.
Favourite of all time would have to be Bvlgari Omnia. Without fail, I always get comments when I wear this perfume, even from the people that always smell it on me. Oh.. I love it!! :D

Oooh, I like this one too! The bottle and fragrance are so distinctive;)
There is a new one out now, in the same shape and design, but white and silver. I haven't smelt it, but if it's half as good as Omnia, then I'll have to have it! :D

It would have to be a perfume oil from Saudi Arabia - I can't even remember the name of it but tried it at a 'Ladies Night' end of Ramadan celebration a few years ago. The perfume was wonderfully complex but clean at the same time (a woody, slightly spicy scent with musk) - the perfect kind of perfume to me! The were only three singular notes in the perfume, but effect was so striking...its the kind of smell that subtely lingers in your clothes and hair and causes people to ask, 'what is that beautiful smell?'. I didn't want to wash after trying it - that said, the smell lingered for about 48 hours (and yes, I did wash!). I've tried hard to find something like it, but so far no success. If anyone has any idea where to buy Middle Eastern perfumes from in Melbourne, please let me know!
The closest I could find is Narciso Rodriguez musk body oil...my boy likes this smell and I also like the way my clothes retain the smell after I've been wearing it...I also love the gorgeous bottle.

Myer had it last year when I bought the EDT, it was roughly $300ish...I nearly died looking at the price. I tried some of the tester...*swoon*, a worthwhile investment. It's called Narciso Rodriguez Musc for Her - I know Sephora definately sell it, but they don't ship to Oz. I couldn't find it in Myer Bourke St a few weeks ago...tried ebay as well, without any luck. If anyone finds out where to buy it here, please please let me know. I'll worry about the cost later...

Hi Kate,
Have you been to Kleins Perfumery and inquired about it? They were really helpful when I was looking for a fragrance I couldn't find anywhere and they tracked it down for me and ordered it in. Might be worthwhile asking if they can help.
My cousin is a perfume buyer and travels the world sourcing different products. I will ask her over the weekend if she knows where you can get it. I am sure she will know how you can get your hands on it:)

Off topic, but I love this forum...especially the perfume threads. Pinkcupcake, I am so envious of you, having a cousin who is a perfume buyer.
You may have already seen this website, but check out: http://luckyscent.com/
I can spend a dangerous amount of time on this site, looking, reading reviews and wishing for Paris Hilton's income.

Don't wear it now but definately everytime I smell a whiff of it on someone else - brings back great memories - Tommy Girl! haha I wore it in High School so I'm instantly transported back to hanging out with all my mates sweltering during summer and actually hanging out in the library because it had the best air-conditioner ;)

I am glad you have fond memories of fragrances. In my experience, the fragrances that I wore MANY years ago have me almost gagging now! Think Lou Lou, Opium, Poison...you get what I mean??

I know what you mean. I often wonder what the hell I was thinking when I wore some of the fragrances I did as a teenager! Red Door, White Diamonds, Passion & Opium. I feel like I was 14 going on 70! No offence to the people who love those fragrances!:redcheeks:

So right Luisa!!
Oooo Poison, that's a scary scent to smell now. I know some people love it but I def have a gag reflex with that as my Mum wore it ALL the time and I used to choke on it as a kid because it's so heady.

I missed this thread, dagnabit (Kate I've been using this in a sentance every day).
The one I continue to buy is Kenzo Parfum D'ete. It's so light and pretty.
Happy-memory fragrance is Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, from when I shared a place with two girlfriends. We all wore it - I think it soaked into the walls! Good times, good times.
Evil-memory fragrance is White Musk oil from the Body Shop. Sorry, I think someone else posted it here as their favourite??? Reminds of evil boys and their evil ways.

Remembered another one that brings back memories...Chloe Narcisse. This was my first grown-up fragrance. It's very heady though and used to incite migraines! But must give it a re-sniff for old times' sake.
My fave would have to be Anna Sui, Sui Dreams. I love the bottle and it's nice a sweet without being sickly:hearts:

Have another two that I would never be without.
Shalimar from Guerlain, recently bought another bottle and CD Dior Addict. Absolutely love these two and very much my signature scents. (though absolutely loving CK Euphoria at the moment, maybe I will be including it in my all time faves too!)

I love Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue.
My ex BF once did one of those chain emails where you answer some questions about yourself and then send it to your friends to do, and one of the questions was "What is your favourite smell in the whole world?" - and he said "My GF's perfume". I thought it was really sweet.
I aslo love the smell of Cacharel Anais Anais. I personally wouldnt wear it, but my mum does, and everytime I smell it I think of her :hearts:

Ok I think my absolute fave fragrance would have to be the very gourmand - Serge Lutens Rahat Loukoum and it is a France exclusive....very posh I know!! :D
The notes include: almond, cherry, honey, vanilla....mmmmm.
The bell-jar bottle with stopper is just so beautiful and I cherish every drop!
At the moment it is my treasured bottle of Guerlain Apres L'Ondee. I think it is so classy;) .

I love Coco Mademoiselle too Melissa9419. It's a gorgeous scent. I actually got a 3.5ml Parfum strength bottle with my Chanel Christmas Minature set. A tiny day lasts all day! I am on to my 3rd bottle of the edp now as I have to keep re purchasing.

LMAO pcc!!!! That is so funny because the first perfume I ever had was Poison - when I was 13!!! My dad bought it for my Mum and she hated it so I took it. I wore it every day until the bottle ran out!!! It never even occurred to me that it was a bit heavy for a 13 year old to wear to school in year 8, lol. My Mum didn't mind either, she's way into fragrance and was glad to get me started on something good early:chuckle: . Whenever I see my bestie from those times (we're not close anymore but I run into her occasionally) she asks me if I'm still wearing it, she says it's the strongest memory she has of me!
LOL I get embarassed when I think of what an 'old' fragrance it is.

How hysterical! I have friends from high school who now tell me they could always smell me coming before they could see me:redcheeks: (bless me). It is so funny when I think of fragrances I have had in the past and when I think of them now I want to vommit! It's interesting the way out noses change over time. What was gorgeous at one point in your life may be hideous at another.:waving:

I know, I am even finding that my nose changes over the course of a year or so...I used to love love love Sheseido Relaxing Fragrance and I wore it the other day and thought "my God how did I wear this?", it was just too...something! But if you'd told me two years ago I would grow out of it I would have thought "never!".

I've worn Diorissimo for nearly twenty years, so I guess that might be by sheer force of longevity the 'favourite of all time'; and two of my other long-term loves (SL Un Lys and FM Lys Méditerranée) are likewise lily/lily-of-the-valley compositions. But I go through so many phases depending on mood and weather, I don't think I really have 'The One' fragrance. Right now, I'm in a phase of craving dry woody/smoky scents but that could change next week, tomorrow, or in the next fifteen minutes!

Ozkat, I do hope you are right—otherwise there will have been a lot of unhappy people in my general vicinity over the years! :chuckle:
There is a 50ml EDT available of the Caron Muguet du Bonheur, very reasonably priced online. I am trying to resist by telling myself (a) I do not need another lily of the valley fragrance just now, and (b) I don't generally buy the EDT. But it has been very hard!
