I love anything Vanilla and have heard that the Annick Goutal Vanilla Fragrance is beautiful. Has anybody tried it, and if so what did they think? (sometimes they pair Vanilla with over-empowering scents).

It's gorgeous, but it's not a "sweet" vanilla (like the Body Shop etc). A bit more grown-up and spicy.

Ooh I have been wanting to try the Annick Goutal fragrances for ages but never seem to get around to it. I love the bottles. Is there a sweet smelling one that I should try?

Yes bottles are gorgeous. Wasnt her daughter involved in the latest offerings? I remember my first trip to Paris staying at Concorde Lafayette. They had mini versions of the L'Eau Haadrian (spelling??) in the bathroom, needless to say I snaffled them each day so that they could be replaced!:p

Oh the vanilla is gorgeous. I think you hit the nail on the head...it's a bit warmer, deeper and spicy than most vanilla scented things out there that tend to be rather sickly sweet so if you like those ones - may not quite be for you.

I love it during winter because it's a bit more heady, be interesting to see how it went in summer though because on me, I find rich scents a little over-powering if it's hot outside.

I really like the Le Chèvrefeuille - it's honeysuckle (allegedly) but I think it just smells sweet and lovely!

You'd probably like Petite Cherie PCC, it's quite sweet - notes of Peach, Pear, Musk Rose, Vanilla, Fresh Grass.

Edited to add: Vanille Exquise would be good for you too.

I love Annick Goutal's perfumes as they're classics and would never go out of style. She uses natural ingredients to create a rich blend that lasts a long time. Unlike the commercial scents you smell these days that are too heady and full of aldehydes.

Annick's vanilla scent is very warm, comforting and classy. I also spray it with more light perfumes to create a scent I could wear in the autumn/winter months. :)

I posted before but it's not showing up.. hopefully this won't be duplicate!
