I have just heard of powder cleansers. Am I way behind the times? Or are these new? Can someone explain the benefits to me? I would think they would be messy and useless as opposed to a cream/liquid cleanser - please let me know what you think!

Well Celestfey your not alone, i haven't heard of them before either, until i got the lastest body shop catalogue. I'm very curious to see how they work etc, obviously you add water top the powder in your hand. Like you said they would probably be messy.

Interesting concept though.

yes i saw a powder cleanser in the body shop while having a browse, wasnt quite sure how it works. Thought i may give a more 'scrubbie' cleanse...????

I agree, might make them more scubbable! Interesting concept with a bit of a novelty factor. Personally I couldnt be bothered with the mess!

Interesting concept but i think anything in a powder form just calls for trouble with me! i am too clumsy and my bathroom would turn into a snowstorm.:drunk:

I have a product by Dermalogica called Daily Microfoliant. Its a rice based powder that i sprinkle into wet hands and it forms a lightly textured cream pretty easily. Just keep the jar opening away from the water. I use it after my cleanser. Its designed to light buff the outer most 2 layers of dead skin cells. It's great for exfoliating junkies and those on courses of peels and micro who just can help themselves. But thats not a cleanser now is it??:shake:
Id be interested to see how well the cleanser version works :) Specially for oil based foundations?.. .

Hmmm thanks for the low-down. Think I might stay away - cleansers for cleansing, exfoliaters for exfoliating for me!!

Powder cleansers are a little messy and do require extra effort as you have to mix them up etc (which frankly I can't be bothered doing).

There are a lot of products coming out in powder form these days. Dermalogica have the Daily Microfolient which is a powder that you mix water with in order to make a scrub and Beauty & the bees masks all come in powder form that requires you to mix with water. I have had both of these products for a while now and almost seem to avoid using them as I am too tired or lazy to mix them up and fandangle around with them. :ashamed:

Just to quote myself :chuckle: the lady in the body shop used the whitening range (forgot the name) powder cleanser on my hand, the powder dissolves as your cleansing so gives more of a exfoliant/microdermabrasion effect at the start but should be good at removing make-up.
