I love the Thalgo range and find they are the thing to have clear up my congested, combination skin. All of their products are marine-derived, and are very effective in clearing up any skin concerns while being so gentle and pampering. In particular I love the Plasmalg gel, which comes in a big tube, can be used all over your body for a detoxifying effect, or on oily skin to detoxify, remineralize, purifies and encourages micro-circulation. It looks like a brown gel and smells just like the sea (a bit gross and alge-like at first but gets better after a while). You can either let it dry as it is if you don't mind your skin having a tight feeling (this is more as a treatment at night) or apply moisturiser straight over the top immediately after applying the gel (while the gel's still wet). It was only about 40 dollars for a massive tube and has been wonderful for my oily skin. Other ones I'm trialing atm are the Ultra-Matte Moisturising Fluid, the Intense Regulating Serum (SUCH a good serum for oily/combo skin), Pure Radiance Exfoliation Cream and the Deep Cleansing Mask. Has anybody else tried Thalgo and if so, what did they think?

Mmmm sounds good! I have a slightly oily t-zone so this sounds like something to try. Sounds weird though, the smell of the Plasmalg and then rubbing moisturiser into it!!

I haven't tried anything yet but would love to.
Melita, which do your prefer out of Ultra-Matte Moisturising Fluid and the Intense Regulating Serum, in terms of regulating very oily skin? What is the difference? Thank you!

I'd say that the serum regulates the oil of the skin better, although coupled with the moisturiser the products seem to work more powerfully together. The serum is just the same consistency as most serums, clear and you don't need much and smells beautiful. The moisturiser is white, creamy and really makes your skin look hydrated and is one of the most effective moisturisers for mattifying skin I've ever used (the other being Clarins Hydra-Matte Day Lotion). The good thing is both these products are very suitable for combo as well as oily, sometimes I think they claim to help both but more swing to either type.

Just to continue raving on about my new-found skin care faves, I just gave myself a mini-home facial with the samples that the Thalgo lady gave me. I double cleansed and then exfoliated with the Pure Radiance Exfoliation Cream. This product is so, so good. The granules are really fine which makes the skin so much smoother (no harsh scratchies) and it actually heats up as you work it and gives a warm, tingly feeling in the skin (this is supposed to help it penetrate deeper). I then put a warm towel to my face and then applied the mask. Miss Thalgo lady (if only I remembered her name) said to apply the Intense Regulating Serum, the Pasmalg Gel and then the Deep Cleansing Gel, and you've got yourself a mini treatment, more effective than just a mask. My skin felt so good after taking it off, then I just applied the serum and gel again and the moisturiser and voila! My skin is looking the loveliest I've seen it in ages. I am so impressed with these products.

I have to say that I quite liked this range from the samples that I tried recently. I got them with a purchase from another web-site and put them away for a few months and tried them last week.
I got the absolute rehydrating Serum, the anti-wrinkle serum and the energising vitality face cream.
I tried the Vitality cream first and found that it smelt wonderful and applied really nicely. Although being a thicker consistency than I expected, it didn't sit on the skin, but sank in. I am partial to soothing scents, and this really made me feel special! I tried it at night, and the next morning my skin looked smooth and calm. I tried the rehydrating serum next and used this for about four days, morning and night. I only needed the smallest amount as it spreads really easily and again, absorbs nicely. I didn't notice any real difference to the rehydration of my skin, but I dont think that it's dry either - I think if I wanted a serum I might go with one that had more active in it - a Vit C would still be my top choice.
The anti-wrinkle serum I;m using to use up. I dont need it and it's not doing anything much for me, so i can't comment on that. Again, the smell is the benefit here for me.
So....I would purchase (and just might) the Energising Vitality Cream, and I have also looked at their range of cleansers as I need a new one of these too!

My beauty therapist always does my facials with Thalgo products, and although I haven't bought any yet (too poor!) if I did buy one it would be the exfoliating cream, it's such a divine texture. The products all smell incredible too. If you're thinking of buying any of these products, do it!!

I gave a good friend of mine Thalgo's Soothe Travel Kit for Christmas. She had never used Thalgo before and absolutely loves it, she was glowing brightly one night I saw her when she had used it. Its great!
