I really like Dr Hauschka skincare - I tried them off and on for the last year but only in the last 2 to 3 months have I just used the following products -
Dr Hauschka Cleansing Milk
Dr Hauschka Facial Toner
Dr Hauschka Quince Day Cream
I use the cleansing milk every night with a face cloth, it is good, all natural, effective.
I use the facial toner morning and night - the only toner that has refreshed my skin, kept my skin hydrated and ready for my moisturiser in the morning and at night the toner is enough to leave my skin feeling soft and supple. The Quince Day Cream is wonderful to use - protective, nourishing especially effective in the air conditioning environment I work in and light enough when I spend the day outdoors, and I can comfortably add my Clinique Super City Block over top without feeling like I have layers of moisturiser on.
Other products which I enjoy from the Dr Hauschka range are:
Lip Balm, Toned Day Cream and Revitalising Eye Cream.
These products are good value and the result you get out way the cost of some of these products - you won't regret it.
Please share your experiences.

I have used the Translucent Bronze Concentrateand it's very good. I mix it with moisturiser and it gives me a little bit of colour and makes my skin glow. Very long lasting too because you don't need much...I am keen to try the cleansing cream after reading some reviews on the forum.

Just loving the Cleansing cream that I use in the shower, it is great and very well priced. I saw a book on the Dr Hauschka story in Borders tonight.

I just love the cleansing cream and the rejuvinating mask, this mask has done wonders for the acne scarring that I have acquired over the years around my mouth and chin. I put a thin layer of it on under my moisturiser and make up and leave it on all day to do its work, apparently you can do this intensive treatment for up to a month. I simply can not express the love I have for this product! I highly recommend it :worship: .

Bpj, could the mask have anything to do with the blemishes you mention in your Ask Aliision (where you refer to the Even tone) ? You may want to tell her your current routine just in case it's something else.

Ah yes, perhaps I should. I guess because I haven't had problems in the past with these products that I have grown complacent. It is a possibility that they could react with even skintone serum. (Haven't used the mask for a while, but do use the cleanser, 'cause it makes my skin look so healthy).

I absolutley love the cream cleanser and the cleansing milk. My favourite moisturiser is the quince day cream as it smell amazing and is very hydrating. The rose day cream is also gorgeous. Thinking I might have to order the limited edition Dr H set.
Thought I would add my Dr Hauschka reviews here as well.
Cleansing Milk- not a huge fan of this, I think it was a bit too rich for my combo skin.
Cleansing Cream- not bad, love the smell and the technique (very relaxing), but I think I prefer Jurlique's cleansing cream. Also you can make your own version of this at home.
Quince Cream- fantastic for combo-skinned people during the warmer months. Very light yet hydrating.
Rose Cream- my combo skin loves this during the colder months even though it's quite thick/heavy. Leaves a lovely glow on your face too (I'm wanting to try the Toned Day Cream as well, which is the Rose cream but with a tint I think).
Translucent Bronze Concentrate- fantastic product, really natural bronzed look, mixes with anything.
Facial Toner (combo/oily)- love the smell! I only had a trial size so it went fairly quickly but it worked well, particularly with the Rhythmic Conditioner ampoules.
Rhythmic Night Conditioner (normal skin)- these were interesting, still not sure if they did much but my skin looked nice.
Revitalising Eye Cream- was light but hydrating, I'm not big on eye creams though as a general rule.
Bath oils- I have a little set of them and the ones I've tried so far are the Lavender (yummy) and the Spruce (also yummy). Really relaxing together. You can apparently also use the oils as a steaming concentrate for your face (haven't tried this yet).
Am about to try the Apricot shampoo and the Jojoba and Marshmallow conditioner. I have the Neem Hair Oil sitting in my hair right now. Hopefully the hair products will be good too!

There is a starter pack for oily/combo/acne skins which has the full routine in mini sizes. The products are Cleansing Cream, Clarifying Toner, Normalising Day Oil, Facial Steam Bath, Rejuvenating Mask, and Cleansing Clay Mask.

Hey RBB, the cleansing cream is great. I tend to use mine as a mild scrub as it is slightly granular. You do have to get past the "fermenting" sort of smell, but it is quite comforting though. Only drawback is it is a fairly small turbe. I use about the size of a 10c piece on damp skin in the shower.

Is the cleansing cream good for oily skin? Raspberryberet, I know you are combo and Kate recommended it for you but my skin is plain oily :( Despite this I love cleansing creams/milks and am always on the lookout for ones suitable for oily skin.

It's fine for oily skin Sapphire, but it's perhaps not the type of cleanser you are thinking of! The biggest ingredient is almond meal, so the texture is grainy (but soft - not scrubby). You can't use it for makeup removal, I find it's best used in the shower of a morning.

Yar, I'm combo but erring on the oilier side, so double-:(
Have you tried U/C Ultra Cleansing Milk? It's very light and has done wonders for me. Foams up a tiny bit when you apply. Also you don't need to use much moisturiser afterwards, you skin feels hydrated but super-clean.

Thanks Kate and RB - I use the UC gentle cleansing gel, which I love - it just doesn't feel luxurious like creams and milks! Maybe I will try the milk when my bottle is finished.

I am a huge Dr Hauschka fan now (thanks Kate). The cleansing cream smells a bit funny due to not having any artificial colouring or preservatives but it is a magnificent product. I just love it. I also am madly in love with the toner (it softens the skin like nothing else) and love the quince and rose day creams. The Dr Hauschka Lip balm is also awesome.

I have had the travel sizes and they were so handy. I recently got the limited edition jubilee pack thingy with the Cleansing Cream, Toner and Rose Day Cream all in 30ml sizes. All the products are in the original packaging that Dr Hauschka products were in when the company was launched.

I think Dr Hauschka is my HG brand.... I have tried lots, but I keep coming back to this brand, surely that should tell me that I should stick to it, not cave into my temptations - that normally screw up my skin and then I come back to Dr Hauschka and that makes it all better again. I think Dr Hauschka is an outstanding brand, one question to those who use it how long do the products last for you... they are so concentrated you only need a little but that is one concern and that is the cost.... but if they is the only thing that is annoying with the brand to hell with it, I love it! GO HAUSCHKA!!!

No I haven't! Hence why I bumped this thread up. Every keen to try it though. I need a new morning cleanser. I was using Lush AOBS and I like it I just hate using it. But I think this cleanser will be similar as the main ingredient is almond meal which is the same as the Lush cleanser.

For you girls who swear by the cleansing cream so much so that your skin goes haywire when not using it…Do you mind me asking what else you use on your skin? I don’t think good skincare products should make the skin dependant on them like that. I don’t doubt the quality of Dr H – I love the line too – but it could be something else that is troubling the skin and the cleanser acts as a band-aid solution. Or maybe not, it just struck me as odd!

I find it's not so much that the skin is "dependent" on it - it's more that the cleansing cream makes such a positive difference to the skin that you really notice it if you stop using it.

What a pity :( I don't like using too many different products on my skin at once, so I prefer to have the same day and night cleanser. I also like a simple routine.
I find that Dr Hauschka does offer a simple routine.
Mornings 1, 2 + 3. (cleansing cream or milk, toner, moisturiser)
Evenings 1 + 2. (cleansing cream or milk, toner).
Other products such as eye creams, masks etc are all optional its up to you if you use them... I've used the revitalising Eye Cream before and it is a very good high quality product but I don't consider it necessary to use these products.
I use the cleansing cream every 2 or 3 days in the morning - as suggested this is an outstanding product and one that your skin will love you for!!!. Every night without fail I use the cleansing milk with a face cloth to rinse if your the type of person to use makeup then the milk cleanser is perfect, I don't wear makeup- I can go weeks without using any but I like that the milk is nourishing your skin. I tone morning and night. Moisturise in the morning using rose day cream (winter season) and quince day cream (Spring, Summer and Autumn).
What I like most int he Dr Hauschka does offer variety according to your current skins state. I know for sue my skin changes with the seasons. But over all I am lucky I have good skin - but sometimes it does suffer a little sensitivity. Dr Hauschka looks after my skin very well.
:glee: As you can tell I am totally in love with Dr Hauschka products ... rave over and out! :worship:

I am in desperate need of a new facial mask and was wondering about the Dr H. Rejuvenating Mask and Cleansing Clay Mask.
Any reviews on either of these? What do each of them do exactly?
My skin (as many of you would know by now :)) is very oily but also prone to redness. So I am always on the hunt for something to combat oil and occasional blackheads/small pimples, but ALSO to calm the appearance of the skin. This is no easy task, as many oily skin products can be too harsh on me :(
Thanks in advance :)

The rejuvenating Mask would be beautiful to use on your skin it will moisturise, clarify those annoying spots and it is great for those who have sensitive skin too .. take the time to pamper yourself if I were to use one of Dr Hauschka intensive care products such as a mask it would be this! Good Luck let us know if you have great success with this.
Note from Dr Hauschka website:
"After cleansing, apply Rejuvenating Mask liberally to the face, the areas around the eyes and the neck. Leave to work for approximately 20 minutes and then wipe off with a warm, damp cloth.
In the case of specific skin problems such as open pores or scarred skin, the Rejuvenating Mask can be used as a four- to six-week course of treatment several times a year. Apply it very thinly over the affected areas. The skin acquires a visibly finer texture."

i am thinking of trying some of these products, i like the fact that they seem very natural. the bath oils look good.
precious star, have you tried any? :glee:
I have had the travel sizes and they were so handy. I recently got the limited edition jubilee pack thingy with the Cleansing Cream, Toner and Rose Day Cream all in 30ml sizes. All the products are in the original packaging that Dr Hauschka products were in when the company was launched.
I love Dr Hauschka, now one of my favourite skin care brands (one in a list of hundreds anyway:ashamed:)
this pack is super glam! ... the small sizes would be great, is the toner in a amber glass bottle?
No I haven't! Hence why I bumped this thread up. Every keen to try it though. I need a new morning cleanser. I was using Lush AOBS and I like it I just hate using it. But I think this cleanser will be similar as the main ingredient is almond meal which is the same as the Lush cleanser.
this is totally me, I prefer solid cleanser, like lush because they do last longer for me but I am noticing how crap my skin is without using dr hauschka! :explode:
wow i haven't used AOBS for years & years !!
it took me a while to get used to the Dr H one ,but long term my skin is great for it , i didn't really notice until i had run out for a couple of weeks & my skin turned sh*t  :redcheeks:
hope u love it as much as i do :spin:
My skin is what yours is when you run out of product... I ran out months a go and since then my skin has gotten progressively worse, I've probably caused more harm than good, I have sampled, tested all kinds of products and some have given temporary great results but nothing quite like hauschka!!! :shakehead:
I find it's not so much that the skin is "dependent" on it - it's more that the cleansing cream makes such a positive difference to the skin that you really notice it if you stop using it.
I totally believe that this is true! :redcheeks: my skin is a catastrophe! (sp?) without hauschka my skin is spotty, red/blotchy etc .... I have had short term success with some products but dr hauschka just seems to have the long term magic that most of us are in search of... I been depriving my skin of good quality holistic skincare for almost 3 or 4 months and I cant say its been worth not spending that little but more to ensure that I have good skin 95% of the time!

Hi
I'm fairly new to the forum but have to say that i really like some of the Dr Hauschka products. I always use a drop of the Lavendar Bath oil in the sink when washing cleanser off my face and its really nice and soothing and hepls wash off my cleanser. I also really like the Rythmic Night conditioner as a toner in the evenings instead of moisturiser but it takes a little while to get used to not using a night cream but when you stick with it your skin feels really smoothe and calm the next day. I've tried some of their mositurisers but i have oily skin and find the moisturisers a bit heavy for my skin but i see they have brought out a lighter version of the Rose Day cream so has anyone tried that yet? Would be curious to hear what thats like?

Kelly, have you tried the Dr.Hauschka Normalising Day Oil? I know it sounds weird to use an oil on oily skin, but I find it really helps to balance your skin's oil production.

Hi Kate
I have tried the normalising day oil from Dr Hauschka and actually liked it but living in Ireland the climate is quite moist here and i find that anything with oil in it makes my skin quite oily. That said when i used the normalising day oil (think it was a couple of years ago) it actually wasn't too oily which was strange. I really love the Dr Hauscka range and find they seem to be one of the few 'natural' skincare ranges that are ethical as well as kind to your skin. Have you used the Light version of the Rose Day Cream ?- am dying to find out what its like. Love the original version's scent but again it was too heavy for my skin:shakehead:

I haven't tried the Rose Light, no.

Kelly. I would suggest that you use the quince day cream with a little bit of the moisturising day cream. this combination is light but moisturising - particularly useful for people like yourself that suffer from oilier skin types but require moisturisation because of the environmental conditions you live in.
glad to see another fan of dr hauschka on the forum!

Hi Kelly :penguin:
Ive tried the rose light and i tend to get an oily t-zone, its really gorgeous, nourishing but light. I saw an ad for a free sample, so went to the website and asked for a sample to be sent and they sent me a whole bunch

I recently got the Normalising Day Oil which i've been using for the last 3-4 days. I have oily skin with some congestion and have been using the Normalising Day Oil with the cleansing cream. So far, so good. I'd tried this before but found it greasy on my skin but i was recently advised to use a very small amount of it on my skin when it was still damp from my toner and that seems to make a difference. I'm delighted as i love Dr Hauschka but hadn't really been able to use it as i found their moisturisers were more suitable for drier skins. Fingers crossed this continues to work for my skin

Ive just tried a sample of the rose eye cream, which is really nice, felt like it has firmed the skin a little after application and my skin lapped it up.

I've tried a few more items in the Dr Hauschka range:
Trial size of the Toned Day Cream - gives a lovely natural finish and has a lovely scent. A little heavy for my oily skin but would be nice during winter i think
Body Silk (Powder) - this is lovely to use and i use it in my hair when i want to get one more day without washing my hair :redcheeks:(don't stone me girls), i use it before bed and it gives my hair a little volume.
Trial size of the cleansing milk - really lovely make-up remover. I take this off with a microfibre cloth or muslin cloth and don't need to use a moisturiser in the evening after using it.
Might try the eye cream and the lip balm next..

I couldn't resist and ordered the travel size pack normal/dry this morning. I can't wait until it arrives, just love getting new products to try.:penguin:Here's hoping my tempremental skin likes it. I've been using the Ultraceuticals Pharma range for the last month or so and whilst it is OK it hasn't done a great deal for my rosacea. So guess it's back to searching for my HG products! Open to suggestions:question:

Yes I have a weird obsession with Klorane dry oat shampoo. When I was younger I used baby powder but it is a bit messy to apply (tip - don't apply when wearing dark clothes). :)

At boarding school I once slept way past wake up time and didn't have time to have a shower before uniform inspection (where they would inspect our uniforms, ensure our hair was tied with a ribbon and our shoes polished). I put Baby Powder through my hair and I couldn't get it all out and my hair went grey!! I should have just rocked up to uniform inspection late as I got dentention for two weeks for "being stupid" with my hair!:chuckle::chuckle:

:chuckle: Yes I was going to say that the powder thing only works on very light hair but you said it for me! I'm glad I found the klorane, that's all I can say now, lol.

I have recently used the Rose Day Cream Light (Trial sample) and am really pleasantly surprised. It's quite a creamy consistency but i haven't found it anywhere near as heavy as the original. i usually find creams too heavy for me but have found this really nice to use and doesn't seem to be causing any greasiness or shine like i usually get. I have found this more suitable for my oily skin than the normalising day oil which is really weird !?! Will get another sample and use it and if i have the same result i'm going to buy this..

Hi Mel :waving:
As a rosacea sufferer you probably already know this but your skin would need to avoid things like perfume, colour, foaming agents (such as sls), harsh abrasives at all costs. Have you posted in the Ask Lady Allison thread re a skincare routine? I imagine the Dr H cleansing milk would be lovely for your skin and the rosacea and I believe they also have rhythmic something or other product for redness. Clarins also do a Skin Repair Concentrate that some people swear by, and of course there is MD formulations, Skinceuticals and Murad which are more expensive options. A great cheap cleanser that is great for sensitivities is Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser and I have found Avene wonderful too.
PS I do not have rosacea but very fair and delicate skin prone to sensitivity. :)
I recently bought the bath care kit (oils) for my partners sister. Haven't tried them myself, but they smelt devine!

Hi Sapphire :waving:
Your skin sounds like mine (only that I have rosacea to add to it) :explode: I have asked Allison for a routine and she recommended Ultraceauticals. I have tried the Pharma range which as I understand it is a half strength line. I wanted to try it before buying the professional line in case my skin didn't like it. So many products seem to dry my skin out especially wash off cleansers. I have tried the Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser and I don't know why but my face ended up like a tomato after I used it every time. I have often looked at Avene but am yet to buy anything.
I am someone who also gets bored with products which I know isn't so great for my skin either.....
Thanks for your suggestion, I really appreciate it.

No worries Mel. :) I know Loolabelle really likes the carnation and rice milk cleanser by Mario Badescu - she has easily irritated skin and swears by this. Have a look in the MB thread. :)

Paid my first visit to Kit today and got me some MB samples so will try them out tonight. Love getting samples. The girl at Kit was really nice and gave me quite a few to try as well as giving my Mum some too :clapping:
I have really liked the Dr H stuff as well so I think it may be hard to decide which to try next.

Any of the masks are god for any skin type - Susan Kurz book on Awakening beauty (dr hauschka way) says if your concerned about what specific mask would be most appropriate for oilier skin it would be - either some home made formulations including organic honey spread evenly across the face for 15 to 30 minutes... or honey, wheatgerm and goldenseal powder - mix together and apply to skin for 10 min.
cleansing clay mask is the best option followed by Rejuventating Mask - which revitalises dull skin, shrinks pore size - if inflamed and finally softens skin.
The clarifying toner works wonders on skin that needs a little pampering if skin is slightly oily and/or can be sensitive (I have used this before, especially in the past when my skin was really stressed, its super soothing)

Thanks Alice - i'm slowly working my way through the Dr Hauschka range at the moment and the rejuvenating mask is one of the products that i haven't used. Love the fact that you can get the products in trial size as well. I actually have the book by Susan Kurtz and i'm going to try some of the masks and the homemade cleasner that she describes..
