Without seeing your concerns of irruptions, particularly those involved around the cheek area, it is difficult for any of us to gauge whether the cause is simple outbreaks, acne, hormonal pimples or indeed rosacea. (pronounced rose-asha)

For those of you with persistent problems, checking your skin care routine is without question but sometimes warrants a trip to the doctor and other health professionals to check out what's going on on the inside.

I came across an interesting and easy to understand run down of the condition which can sometimes be overlooked.

Has anyone heard of it or suffered from it? We would love to hear your thoughts.

I have a slight problem with rosacea on my cheeks where my blood vessels are enlarged which create a red mark on both sides of my cheeks. It hasn't worsened yet so I am still able to cover it up with make up. But I have been considering IPL laser to remove it. would any of you know about the results or side effects of IPL?

Hi Ladies!! Have we all recovered from the excitiement of the introduction of the dancing fruit?!! :yellow: :carrot: :apple: :chilli: :strawberry:  I know i havent!! :chuckle:
I have used IPL and more recently VPL (variable pulsed light) to treat various skin rejuvenation concerns in particular surface vein therapy. I think its a fantastic, non invasive treatment. It will only treat the thin, red or reddy purple capillaries (veins is really the wrong word but most commonly used to describe the look of these distorted vessels)

Do your research on pulsed light treatments as there are alot of machines used out there. Look for something that gives a safe delivery into the skin. The VPL system that I use breaks each "shot" (flash/pulse of light) into a series of "micro pulses", thus giving the skin the energy it needs to treat the concern with out generating too much heat in the skin tissues.the vessle is then slowly broken down and re-absorbed by you body as a waste product. Sound quite vicious but not all all.

It does hurt! (each flash feels like a quick little poke with a charged electrolysis needle, a hot little flick. The treatment is over soo quickly that it really isnt too unbearable at all! Depending on the vessel and how long its been there you may need a few treatments (normally 4-6) It's in completely safe for less severe forms of rosacea. I would never use it if the skin was completley red and inflammed, better used on the thin spidery beginnings of rosacea.

Afterwards the treated area will feel a little warm and tingly for a few hours afterwards and the progression of the results really varies qute a bit from individual to individual. Fatcors like circulation to the are, immune response etc play a key part also.
Post care is pretty minimal except for SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN! and no exfoliation of stimulation till any tingling has subsided.

Hope that helps. I will look for the link to the system I have so you can have a bit more of a read.
