As a person who always favours expensive brands I decided today (just for interest sake) I should buy some inexpensive products and put them to the test. I hightaled it down to Priceline (as forum user assure me ths is the place to go for the cheap thrills) and browsed the shelves. I couldn't believe how much stuff they have that I have never bothered looking at before. Anyway after an hour looking this is what I left with:

Priceline Vitamin E Facial Wipes $3.99 (pack of 25)

Priceline Vitamin E Facial Moisturiser $4.95 (50ml) looks almost identical to The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream and even comes in a pink container with a black lid.

Priceline Vitamin E Facial Mask $4.95 (100ml)

Priceline Vitamin E Face Scrub $4.95 (75ml)

Swisspers Cleansing Eye Make-Up Remover Pads $6.95 (pack of 30)

Andrew Collinge 1 Minute Wonder Deep Conditioning Treatment $9.95 (150ml)

I am going to give these products a thorough going over and will be interested how I find them. Will report back with my results.

Anyone else tried any inexpensive products of late?

Sorry, I thought considering I also purchased hair care product I shouldn't list it under skincare!

I am currently using Olay gentle foaming cleanser and I'm surprised how good it is. I got it in a bundle with the Olay SPF30 moisturiser for only $13 in Target. I thought it would be good for my boy to use. I normally use a milk cleanser but had run out so started using his. It reminds me of the Clarins one I used to use. It doesn't strip my skin and leaves it feeling really soft.

Hey girls, watch those Swisspers Eye Makeup remover pads. Fabulous idea but they are quite abrasive. If you use them, make sure you hold the pad over your eye for a few sec before doing any rubbing!

Thanks for the info Luisa! Will be sure to watch that! I hate anything on my eyes that is too abrasive! We miss you and can't wait to have you back on the forum full time! Happy Holiday!

Last night I sat up watching the tennis (love it with a passion) and decided to give my Priceline cheapies a try. Here's what I used and my opinion of the products:

Cleansing - Started off cleansing with Cetaphil. I purchased the Cetaphil at Pharmacy Wearhouse for around $7 for 250ml. I was impressed with this cleanser. I didn't have any make-up on so I am unable to comment on whether it removes makeup well or not but my skin felt really clean and super soft after using it.

Exfoliant- Used Priceline Vitamin E Scrub $4.95 for 75ml. This scrub was pretty good. Ok so it's not in the same league as say Alpha- H or Ultraceuticals but it does contain Alpha Hydroxy Acids and lots of lovely Vitamin E. The scrub does foam when you use it. I usually hate foaming products but found this one not too bad. It smells lovely to which was nice. The scrub was relatively gentle but you could still feel it doing it's job. After use my skin did feel smooth and soft.

Mask - Priceline Vitamin E Mask $4.95 for 100ml. This mask contains clay. It was a lovely pink colour with a nice smell very much the same as the exfoliant. I put the mask on and read the instructions saying to wash it off when completely dry.

After about 10 minutes the mask had set so hard my face it felt like concrete! I kind of like that hard tight feeling! When I rinsed off the mask I found I had to use a wash cloth to get some off as it wouldn't budge with just water. After I had taken it off my skin felt very tight and somewhat dehydrated. I didn't like the way my skin felt do decided to use my Beauty & the bees honey and coconut cream cleanser to soften up my skin again!

Moisturiser - Priceline Vitamin E Moisture Cream $4.95. I don't usually put moisturiser on my t-zone at night so I just applied this cream to my slightly dry cheeks and neck. I was really impressed with this cream as my skin seemed to drink it up and it absorbed rapidly. It made my skin so incredibly soft. I am definitely going to use this again.

My Mum is a huge fan of The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream $19.95 and has used it for years. I gave her the Priceline Vitamin E Cream to compare with her usual Vitamin E cream from The Body Shop. She actually thought they were the same product. The packaging is very similar with both having a pale pink jar with a black lid. She used the Priceline Vitamin E last night and she said she thinks it is identical and really couldn't tell any difference. Just thought this was interesting considering the $15 price difference.

I am going to use all of the products again just to get a better idea of their performance, but all in all I was rather impressed with my cheaper products. It just goes to show that you don't need to spend a fortune to look after your skin:)

I have been using my Priceline Vitamin E wipes ($3.99) and I would have to say they are the best value for money wipes I have ever used.

I must admit I only wipe my face over with them to get some of the makeup off before I cleanse but they appear to take makeup off very well. Even giving clean skin a wipe over with them leaves the skin feeling really soft and comforted. Considering they are only half the price of some other wipes I would definitely recommend them to anyone who uses face wipes. Think I am on to a good buy here girls.

I was in the huge Bourke St Mall Priceline today. I missed the own brand products, perhaps walked right past them. What does the packaging look like pcc?

I parted with just under $200 there today, glad I picked up a basket! Will post those in What did you buy today thread (if I can find it!).:spin:

Luisa, it has pale pink pakaging. I found the Priceline range shoved at the back of one of the shelves in my store so you might need to dig around a bit for it! The wipes are excellent value and the scrub was very good too. I couln't complain about $4.95 for a scrub with my beloved aha's:redcheeks: :chuckle: !!

Just thought I would let you know that I went back to Priceline today (just the local one) and bought the Priceline Vit E face wipes. Wow $3.99 is an amazing price - even better, they are pretty good. Had a makeup free day today but they are quite moist and very effecive. Left skin feeling clean and soft.

Their own range is available in three varients, Vit E (pink packaging), Cucumber (green - what else?!) and Re-Balance (blue and for us oldies, slightly more expensive). I also bought the Re-Balance wipes for $4.99 but have yet to try them. They are described as "vitamin enriched moisturising complex".

Also bought the Vitamin E scrub pcc, will let you know once I have tried it!

I can see we are going to have to watch you and your Priceline adventures Luisa. Two visits in as many days could be very bad for the cash flow!;)

Well I hit my local Priceline last night and my goodness i had a blast. Just browsing and seeing new products, trying new products and just having a good time. I was feeling sad all day but when i went in it made me feel good again. I dropped $70.00 but i got my moneys worth for what i paid for items.

Like PCC, I bought the Priceline Vitamin E skincare range (Scrub, Cleanser and tub of vit e cream for your face) that all cost me about $12.00 and they are really good for a cheap generic type range. Normally i woulnd't torture my skin with cheap products but i was surprised. They also have a cucumber range aswell and a mask so i'm going to it next time.

I love Priceline i just wish we had a bigger one.

P.S. I bought 2 x She Rosehip oil for $10.00 , they were sealed and unopened on the sales tables. They had Maybelline products on sale and lots of over stuff.

So i reccommend everyone go to Priceline and get them some of these products.

These priceline products sound great! Could someone please tell me if they think these would be okay on combination/ pimple prone skin?

Madam, you wait and see what Allison says first! I personally would only use them if your skin is under control and not in a range capacity either.

I wouldn't rec you for the vitamin e range it would be too rich for your skin. However the scrub has AHA's in it which i didn't know until i got home and i've never used anything with AHA's before.

They have a cucumber range it might suit i'm not sure sorry, becasue i have dry skin. If you have acne prone skin personally i wouldn't chnage your current routine if its working for your skin. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I know your a product floozy like me maybe you should flirt with some other types of products eg, body wash, soaps, lip gloss, lip balm, hand treatments etc things that aren't as crucial as clear skin on your face. Would you consider jeopodising your skin?

I'm just speaking from experience. Because int he past i've used products that weren't right for my skin but because they were new i bought them anyway, overall i wsted my money, harmed my skin and my sister in-law got a free skincare range. Lol

Thanks PP, your advise begs the question of why have I not thought of this before? It seems so obvious now...

I tried the Priceline Vitamin E Face Wipes on the weekend and i am so impressed!!
They left my normally sensitive and dry skin beautifully soft and glorious:clapping:
Normally I don't go anywhere near wipes but I gave these a try because all you ladies were raving ab out them and they are my new must have for those lazy nights when you can't be bothered.

Yes, they are good Della but not entirely effective for eye makeup or foundation (I needed to use 2 in my test!). Great for freshening up though and they make your skin feel gorgeous.
