I have (even more) freckles now pop up on my face since i have been burnt a few times this summer (i know naughty) across the nose area!!!
Does anyone know of a really good fading cream, i have tried one but it didnt really seem to do anything or should i try a peel?????
If I could find a good fading cream i would prefer to do this as its less invasive.
Any idea ladies??????

Hi precious_star,
I would recommend that you try either one of the following:
lactic acid moisturiser, Vitamin A (retinol) product 0.30% (at least), or benzyl peroxide.
Benzyl peroxide is used for acne under the name of Benzac AC (Pharmacy) however it does have a whitening effect on the skin so it would fade any spots but it may dry the skin so use a good moisturiser. I'm sure one of the beauty advisers can suggest a product from the online store.
Hope that helps.

Why aren't you wearing sunscreen silly? :shakehead:
Keep a small tube in your bag for when you are caught out in the sun unexpectedly or need to top up.
I've used Skindoctor's Dermabrite which gave results after a couple of weeks but I used it as a night cream as it was a bit greasy. I wouldn't recommend for oiler skin.

precious_star,
First, you must make friends with Mr Sunscreen! You won't have any luck fading your freckles if your skin is getting sun damaged all the time, it's like trying to fill up a bucket with a hole in the bottom. So you must wear SPF30+ EVERY DAY. Yes, even if it's cloudy. EVERY day!! Megan Gale Invisible Zinc Daywear is a very good daily moisturiser with SPF30+ in it so that way you can't forget to wear it.
OK, now that I've got my Sunscreen Nazi rant out of the way...
There are a number of ingredients that will help to fade freckles: retinol, vitamin C, bearberry extract, AHA/BHA, kojic acid, hydroquinone. However none of them will do it overnight. Realistically it's going to take a good 6-12 months of regular treatment for you to get results. If you combine a few of these ingredients in your routine (rather than just one) then things will work a bit faster. If you also incorporate some peels, faster again.
As a fellow freckly person, I have had good results with the following:
Vitamin C: Ultraceuticals C10 Serum/Ultra C Sheer, Skinceuticals C E Ferulic
Retinol: Ultraceuticals Ultra A Treatment Serum
AHA/BHA/Bearberry: Ultraceuticals Even Skintone Serum
Note that all the above are high-strength cosmeceutical products so don't just jump in and start using them all willy-nilly - get Allison to put together a skin program for you (just post a request in the Ask Allison section of the forum, she gets back from holidays tomorrow).
Hope this helps a little :)

yes i do wear sunscreen every every day! but...i was at the races on boxing day and got a burnt nose (with a nice white sunglasse mark) as i only had spf 15 moisturiser on, so many sunscreens are so greasy and i freak out when putting them on!
I did learn my lesson and while away over holiday break lathered up with spf 30 just ditched the foundation as i dont think my skin could have taken anymore oil.
