I am obsessed with body scrubs, and have tried so many. The one I keep going back to is Loreal Exfotonic, but I think it is a bit harsh on the skin. Has anyone tried one that has given fantastic results?

I love The Body Shop Africa Spa Salt Scrub! It is unbelievable, it leaves my skin baby soft. It costs around $50 but is worth every cent! Also the Clinique Sparkle Skin is good and costs around $50 to.

I've always wanted to try the Body Shop's Africa Spa range. Will do on your recommendation PCC!
KP one of my friends gave me Trader Joe's Tangerine Sugar Scrub a few months ago. It's beautiful, smells good enough to eat and leaves your skin with a light almond oil-sheen. Not sure if it's available in Oz but definitely worth trying if you can get your hands on it.

My fave is actually a mitt, The Enjo Body Glove. It looks like carpet but boy does it leave my skin silky smooth. I just add some shower gel to lather it up then rinse it off. I also throw it in the washing machine for a good clean. I've had it for about 4yrs and its not looking like being replaced anytime soon. I think it was about $40?

Hey Medusa,
That sounds great. Do you know where they sell them?? I like the idea of using a mitt. I used to use an exfoliation glove but it was so harsh.

Enjo sell via party plan. They specialise in cleaning gloves, like ones for the kitchen, one for the car etc. You can get knock offs for those in the supermarket but I have never seen a body glove like this one. Contact them thru their website www.enjo.com.au
The glove isn't really scratchy like a loofah the best I can describe is like worn fluffy carpet? Obviously the harder you scrub the the scratchier it feels so I just take it easy & it works fine. I even occasionly use it on my kids skin to scrub off tattoos & paint. I always use it before I apply my fake tan.
If you do have a party - I highly recommend some of thier other products too. Not sure if you're into housework? but their mop is the best. Its a bit exy but their philosophy is that you don't need to use chemical cleaners & the gloves last ages so you in fact are supporting the enviroment & saving money in the long run.

I also forgot to mention one of my other very favourite body scrubs! It is by Archipelago (available at Kit Cosmetics) and is the Brown Sugar and Mango one. It is coarse but not harsh on the skin at all as some sugar scrubs can be really harsh! It massages in really well and smells divine. After use my skin feels amazingly smooth and soft and smells great. They also have a variety of other scents to choose from. I love using it on my hands, then applying a generous amount of the matching hand cream!

I've tried heaps too... the Origins ones are nice. The ones that have olive oil in them leave a nice sheen on your body, and the cocoa one smells like a packet of jaffas. Yum!
I've discovered a new fave though. Grapefruit & pomegranate scrub from Kit. It smells so nice & fresh & leaves your skin silky smooth. It has cane sugar in it and olive? oil...
I love it! :hearts:

:chuckle: ye I like anything with the word sparkle in it*!!! Ill have to check out the clinique one too then. I havnt tried the body shops Africa spa scrub, but have tried their coconut scrub which is delish! It turns into almost like coconut milk (dont know how to word that sentance lol) upon contact with the skin and water... Avons brown sugar scrub is quite nice to, especially for only $15. Havnt tried the Loreal scrubs...

Nattieb they have one at Priceline called Iyashi which is about $9. It comes in a tub and is in a Japanese-themed range. It's in green and black packaging and I think it is based on green tea and bamboo. I think they also have a variant which is in pink and black packaging, but I haven't tried that. Is very nice!

:penguin: i LOVE using body scrubs & am always on the look out for the next best thing ;) anyhow the daintree salt scrub is great but u can only find it in dj's i think .
but the new she one i just got is fab , 500g for $15 from priceline & it is really thick so it is hard to over use  i am loving this one
the avon skin so soft is also great & a bargain when they do buy one get one free
there also used to be one at work that was a cheaper rip off of freemans , it was only about $7 for a tube , it was an apple hot sugar scrub - bloody brilliant , but i haven't seen it around :shakehead:
i have also heard great things about dj's own brand & the natio one in the tub

I make my own - cheap, quick & easy. Take 4 tablespoons glycerine (avail at chemists/supermarkets), 3-4 tablespoons of white sugar and mix together. That's basically it. You can add 2-3 drops essential oil if you like something with a fragrance, and can add a few drops of olive oil or apricot/jojoba oil if you have paritcularly dry skin (but this can make the shower slippery so you have to be careful). The basic scrub works just as well as is. You can also add a dollop of aloe vera gel as well. This makes it really nice. Hop in the shower, grab a handful and scrub away, but not too hard or else you'll end up all red!

I have the Clinique Sparlkle skin. It is beautiful and you can actually massage it in whilst your skin is dry. It doesn't feel as harsh as some other scubs do but it seriously exfoliates. Its one of the best I have ever used and has a lovely peppermint smell.

Ive just finished off Freemans pomegranate sugar scrub, it was quite thick in texture so was kinda hard to squeeze out of the bottle. It smelt really yummy, kinda sugary (Duh, sugar scrub). I had to make sure there wasnt too much water on my skin where i was trying to scrub or else it just dissolved before i could get any scrubbing going on.

precious_star, I find the best way to use a scrub is to quickly dampen yourself under the shower, turn the water off, let yourself drip for a few seconds to get any excess water off, and then scrub your skin when it's not "wet". It is a lot more efficient!!

I don't think my ideal scrub exists!! It would have a creamy texture and probably a nice tangy fruity scent - lemon comes to mind. I want to feel invigorated by a scrub!! It has to have really good granule density - I hate when there aren't enough granules. And they can't be too soft! Or too hard. And it has to come in a tube, not a tub!! And.........umm....I'd like the tube to be yellow and white striped.

I ended up getting it a couple of weeks ago :glee: The tub is huuuge! It's over 500g, so it's going to last ages. It's my first salt scrub - it's quite coarse (similar to a sugar scrub), so fairly abrasive, but it does it's job well. I just have to remember not to scrub too hard - I've been using the Davies Gate Walnut Scrub lately, which is quite fine in texture & is fairly gentle on the skin. It doesn't smell like gingerbread, but I really like the smell - it's more citrusy - fairly similar to Garnier's Bodytonic Sugar scrub.

Fun fact: i used to be/sort of am an AVON representative... it's amazing how much of my 'profit' would go back into buying more AVON :chuckle:

I think Garnier BodyTonic is pretty much the only scrub I will ever need again. I'm going through a major phase of infatuation. I am SO picky with scrubs and this one fits the bill nicely. I have a TBS Papaya scrub that makes me want to hurl, some scrubs out there have the WORST smell and texture imaginable.
I keep meaning to ask who has used the Kit scrubs??

What smell does it have? Have you used any of the ones in the juicy mood lifter/fancy-free type range?
Edit: Just saw that the pre-tan one has beeswax and shea butter, niiiiiice!!

Nah I havent tried the other ones, cos they were a bit oily, and I hate oils in my scrub
Its really really creamy, but scrubs so well. I love to work up a sweat while I scrub, and feel like its really doing the job. It rocks but I go through it so quickly. I could use one tub in a week.
From memory I think its a tropical smell???

Haha you and I are scrub twins. I looooove scrubbing and I could go through a whole scrub in DAY if I were a zillionaire. I know what you mean about oils in the scrubs. Sometimes that's nice (I have an Origins one which is gorgeous and quite oily) but only before bed or in winter. Not for pre-tan. The Kit pre-tan one sounds fan-diddly-tastic.
Am I the only one who is so out-of-shape that I consider a good scrub to be a bit of a workout?!!

Hahaha I do too. I have LITERALLY started sweating in the shower (water off of course) due to heavy-duty scrubbing.
