Ok, so we are all told to carry out skin care down beyond the chin area but how many of you use a dedicated neck cream?

Which ones have you tried, did they make a difference and would you recommend them?

I got a neck cream from Lush in August and to be honst I have probably used it once. I can't say that I have ever bought a cream specifically for my neck apart from this Lush one. I usually just extend my facial moisturiser down to my neck and that's about it. Does everyone use a neck cream except for me? Is it bad not to use one?

It is an interesting assumption but neck skin is actually very similar to the skin around the eyes. As we all know too, one area to show ageing the fastest too.

Neck creams have ingredients and benefits that include firming properties and made specifically for this area.

I know someone who has used the Clarins Neck Cream for 20 years (she is 59 and has the most enviable 20 year olds neck!). I have also used this one albeit not consistently.

What also comes to mind is the application of cream to the neck area. You are told to use sweeping upward movements but when I trained with the Lancome products 25 years ago, the very French and glamorous guest trainer suggested using downward movements as these supposedly stimulated the neck skin to better receive the neck cream!

Gee Imagine using eye cream on your neck! One application would use the average 15ml eye cream up! Lol:dunce:

Yes, go figure! But skin on neck is thinner than facial skin. You rarely see specific neck creams and I was curious as to who had used or considered these.

I dont use a specific neck cream, but do extend my moisturiser / cleanser down my neck and find this works well for me, should prob invest in a neck cream as I dont want wrinkles there to show......when I get old!!

I have tried a few neck creams ie; Clarins, Chanel, Dior, Revive, NV Perricone, Thalgo but the one I am presently using is Elizabeth Grant. I have the trio pack which includes firm & lift concentrate for day, firm & lift treatment for night and a neck restore mask which I use once a week. These products are just devine! :D

Have heard of her range. Tell me are all three products for the neck? Sounds like a great pack. Have you used any other EG items?

The three products are dedicated to the neck and are great. I have used and are still using some EG products. The range is based on torricelumn, a plant from the ocean apparently. I highly recommend the Essence of Torricelumn which comes in 5ml vials. It is recommended you use 1-2 drops morning and night before moisturising for 7 days each month. I have found a more youthful radiance and fab reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. EG also has a terrific range of treatment gels. The product range is enormous as the Company was established in the '40's and has always catered to Hollywood. All the products are non-allergenic and I have enormous respect for the range. Sorry to babble.

Hey, thanks heaps for all that great info!

Will certainly have to investigate her stuff. I am safe from my New Year's Resolution (see another thread!) on buying a neck cream as I dont currently have one. Lol!

Thanks again!

Just got a question girls,

If i dont have a dedicated neck cream, is it ok to use body moisturiser on the neck or should I stick with face moisturiser.
Neck creams are quite pricey..

In order of benefit - 1. Neck creams, 2. Facial moisturiser 3. Body moisturiser.

Neck skin is thinner and warrants attention but body moist is better than nothing! Facial creams that have firming properties are also great. A pretty good "cheapie" is the Loreal Revitalift Double Lift (with the gel and cream side by side, red box). You can feel the tightness immediately and the cream has extra benefits. Pump pack doesnt last long though!

No, not as far as treating the neck. But watch for formulations (especially richer) ones that are designed for an older (often pre or post menopausal) skin that so many people make the mistake of using now. Think of anti-oxidents, sunscreen and AHA's and you will be fine!:waving:

I raided my Mum's beauty box today and found she had a La Prairie Cellula Neck Cream thingy. As it is as yet unopened I feel she isn't going to use so I think I might "borrow it" and start using it tonight. Anyway what's my Mum doing with La Prairie? I guess she has been conned into buying it in Melbourne and forgotten about it. After all mother's and daughter's are supposed to share aren't they.:D

Someone wrote earlier that you could use an eye cream on your neck, well I have put it to the test & here are my results.

I have been using a $20 Avon Anew Ultimate Transforming Lift eye cream on my neck for about 2 months now. I am impressed! :) Previously I have always extended my facial cream to my neck but I would also massage in some Rosehip oil as I am starting to see "necklace lines" (you know lines where your neck creases).

The Rosehip oil helped a bit I think but I have def noticed an improvement since using the eye cream. The cream hydrates my skin better & the lines look less noticable & finer. This cream does contain Retinol. So I would continue using a cheapish eye cream on my neck provided it contained Retinol. This Avon one is good but too heavily perfumed for my liking.

Thanks for the update Medusa!

The skin on your neck is very similar to skin around the eyes. Both specific creams tend to both have firming ingredients and are of a similar texture.

Charismatic I used Elizabeth Grant for three months and It had no effect on my skin(shows everyone reacts differently)I now swear by Philosophy products, the When Hope is not Enough smoothing vitamin c/e peptide neck and decollete cream is ace,as said the neck area is just as thin as the eye area and MUST be cared for, otherwise your neck will look ten years older than your face.Same applies to the hands(ultimate age giveaway.

ozilicious you are not too late to play"CATCH UP",If you start using a neck cream that really works yohttp://forum.adorebeauty.com.au/images/smilies/waving.gif
:waving:your lines could diminish or even disappear altogether, leaving your neck and face the same age."Good Luck."

I can't believe they make creams for the neck. Why do necks have to sag!?!?!? It scares me! I

I love my neck! Not bad for my age if I say so myself!

Even if you dont use a neck cream per se, make sure you carry your moisturisers and actives (careful some necks can be sensitive) all the way down to your decolletage. And that includes your sunscreen!

Yep this is so important.

If you want a cheap option, try Dove Neck and Chest Beauty Serum, from their pro age range. Its great, I love it, and I really notice the difference

Thanks KP!

Have spotted that one. Is it a serum consistency?

Another good value one is Loreal Double Lift (?name) with the gel and cream. It REALLY tightens your skin!:penguin:

I have to say the Alpha-H Age Delay Anti Wrinkle Night Cream has actually improved my neck by default.
It is funny, as in the testimonials for this product, everyone comments on how their necks have benefited. :chuckle:
So maybe we don't need a special neck treatment after all!
