Hello lovely ladies!
I have a problem :( I have these couple of pimples (about 3) on my chin area that won't seem to go away! they always seem to come back and now they are back they are aching on my face??
I'm not sure what the problem could be, but any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! I want to look my best over the Christmas and New Year period!

TIA!

Yes I have been suffering the same fate! I've been doing masks etc and cleansing morning and night but they keep reappearing. I know it is the hormonal area and I tend to get pimples on my chin over any other part of my face but it is frustrating! Especially as Tiddles said, in the party season!!!

I know it's terrible, I also cleanse morning and night, I use Lush Angels on Bare Skin as my cleanser / exfoliant, and have also been doing masks - Lush Cupcake & Lush Love Lettuce to no avail.
I know it's the hormonal area but it's so annoying!
Recently I went to get my eyebrows waxed and the BT asked me whether I was under any stress, and I didn't know what to say so I asked why and she said because pimples on your chin area are a sign of stress :(
Oh what to do, what to do... I never get pimples on any other part of my face!
HELP! :shakehead:

Try putting ice on them to relieve the redness and pain :(

Aww thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately I have already tried ice.
Do you think I should go and get a professional facial?
I also have blackheads around my T-Zone and want to get rid of them, so perhaps I can kill 2 birds with one stone.
Or any suggestions for a blackhead fighting solution?:cryinggreen:

A beauty therapist won't be able to do much for the big sore ones. Try and go see a dermatologist if you can, they have access to the "big guns" (e.g. prescription stuff).

Hi there,

I work in dermatology so I can offer you some advice. Generally pimples that are painful are deep and inflamed or infected. I would suggest that you use benzyl peroxide from the pharmacy (benzac 2.5%). Start using it in the evening and then as you are able to tolerate it more use twice a day.

Benzyl peroxide is fantastic for painful pimples because it causes an unfavourable environment for the bacteria so they literally die. Whilst using Benzac change your cleanser to cetaphil which can also be purchased from the pharmacy.
The Benzac will work very quickly to reduce the pain and inflammation if you are consistent.

In regards to the pimples on your chin do you get them often and do they have a white tip? Most acne that develops in this area is caused by hormones however such acne can also be induced by cosmetics such as makeup? I would also change your foundation to clinique superfit which works really well with acne prone skin. Foundations such as Lancome tend to give very heavy coverage and they block the pores leading to infection.

If this is a frequent issue and changing your foundation doesn't help then you need to look at either using benzyl peroxide more routinely or try a topical Vit A (retinol) serum product.

I hope this helps if you have anymore questions feel free to contact me.

Hi belusha
Thank you so much for your comments / feedback. I will definitely go down to the chemist and buy some Benzac and Cetaphil. I will also go tomorrow to check out the Clinique Superfit, currently I use Chanel DPF could this be the cause?
The pimples on my chin don't really have the white tips (which is annoying because I'm a squeezer) :(
I will definitely try the products you have recommended and will let you know how I go in a few days.
Once again, thanks so much for your help it's muchly appreciated. :clapping:

:santa: Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi Tiddles.

Yes i know what you mean about it having no tip. I get one probaly even few months on my chin (only problem area, rest of my face is pretty much clear). I had one come up last nite.

I put some high strength tea tree on toot sweet, just dabbed a tiny bit on then left a dab of my proactiv face mask just on the pimple (a clay mask would be similiar) and touch wood it seems to be buggering off. yay...
