What are your tried and true 'classic' products? Not necessarily Holy Grail - but products with great formulations that stand the test of time...

Mine are Maybelline Great Lash mascara and Elizabeth Arden Eight-hour cream.

Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser is soooo good at getting rid of all your makeup. When I use it, I never get out of the shower only to find that I still have smudges of mascara and eyeliner under my eyes. It's all gone with no extra wipey removal. Genius.

These are the things that I tend to re-purchase

What's this one like VeeE? I'm thinking of purchasing it....

VeeE

You should!!
I love the AvoJuices because they are super moisturising, but they don't leave any sticky feeling on the skin. It absorbs SO quickly, but you can really feel the hydrating qualities.
I scent is really lovely, but it's definately very very coconutt-y. The have lots of other yummy smells though, for example I really love the Grapefruit as well.
I ALWAYS get comments on the way I smell when I use this stuff... you don't really need to wear perfume when you have this on!

jaime
09-05-2007, 12:09 PM
Oh cool! I love moisturisers that you can still smell on the skin. Grapefruit was going to be my second pick!

Thanks VeeE... on the list it goes!

raspberryberet
09-05-2007, 01:29 PM
Jaime you can get a little 'six-pack' of mini Avojuices and the matching moisturisers for about $15. The one I have comes with Melon & Coconut, Pink Grapefruit (my favourite) and Cran & Berry.

Then you can try everything before you buy the big'uns!

jaime
09-05-2007, 01:35 PM
Can I get it online from somewhere?? I don't have access to department stores for another couple of months....

raspberryberet
09-05-2007, 01:39 PM
Oh, darnit.

Pretty sure you can get them on the OPI website. Or maybe add 'em onto a wishlist for next dept store visit?? Doesn't help with the waiting though, gah.

And in saying that...Adore sells the full-sized ones and both the Coconut & Melon and Pink Grapefruit are DELICIOUS! So you can't really go wrong with either of these. If VeeE and I say they're good, they must be good! He he!

jaime
09-05-2007, 01:40 PM
Yeah I've heard some pretty good things about them all up so I was just going to get the 200ml on the Adore site. I have faith!!

Hi Meow- I haven't met you in the forum yet- welcome!

I am curious re the Weleda. What do you use and why do you like it? Its been around for eons but I have never gotten around to sampling anything. Oh, except for a rose cream- that was divine!

Hi Sapphire, thanks for the welcome :)

I got onto Weleda by reading MUA reviews. First tried the Skin Food as it was considered an all-purpose cream much like Nivea Creme, except I can't use Nivea Creme on my face cos it breaks me out and I can use the Skin Food anywhere (using it as an eye cream right now and it's divine!). Have tried a few things from the Almond (sensitive), Wild Rose (dry or difficult) and Iris (combo-oily) skincare lines and liked 99% of it (I have reviewed a few things on MUA - username = verte). I'm using the Iris cleanser right now and although I don't know if I like it as much as the Almond range, it's pretty good- hydrating without being too rich for my combo skin. Weleda is much the same as Dr Hauschka (which I also love), but it's much cheaper although it can be hard to find. I think they might even be related companies or something. www.weleda.co.nz ships Weleda to Australia. HTH :)

Gee thanx Meow. I knew of Weleda as a natural brand & have used some of the children's range but I never knew they also did skincare. I have never seen it. It's very well priced. Does anyone know who stocks these lines?

Hi Meow,

Do you know if they test on animals?

You can get Weleda in Melbourne at Kleins perfumery in Brunswick St, Fitzroy. Many pharmacies now stock this range but cater more for the baby formulas.

meow
15-05-2007, 05:10 PM
They don't test on animals, precious_star. :)

Thanks for that Luisa Brown- last time I was at Kleins (ages ago) they only had a couple of products I think. Sustenance on the corner of Johnston/Brunswick Streets also stocks Weleda. There's definitely more products available on the Weleda NZ website- one of the frustrating things about Weleda is that no one place carries the entire range.

I think there may be a list of Austtralian stockists on the Weleda website too.

Hee hee! Mystifying isnt it?!

I cannot remember what it was called here but I definitely had one circa (approx) 1984?? It was touted as a bronzer that you could use as lipgloss, eyeshadow even nail polish - yes fusspot, probably the precurser to Natural Glow!

Susan, when this product was created it was the goal of the CEO of L'Oreal, that this mascara would be recognised world wide, and it is.
