wow, I've never heard of alpha-h before but it appears to have a big fan base here! I'm also a big fan of Ultraceuticals Evenskin Tone.

This is what I used this Morning

Clarins Cleansing Milk
The Body Shop Vitamin E Wheatgerm oil (great for scarring and even skintone)
Clarins Hydra-Matte Day Lotion
Clarins Beauty Flash Eye Balm
Megan Gale Invisible Zinc 30+

Evening

Clarins One-step Exfoliating Cleanser
Estee Lauder Idealist Skin Refinisher
Nivea Aqua Sensation Gel Cream

Ooooh, I've been wondering about the Evenskin serum - what exactly does it do? How long before you see results?

BTW I used to have the dodgiest most hormonal skin (which is extra bad when you're mega pale :( ), and it's never been better thanks to Alpha-H! :)

I find the Purifying Clay mask is my absolute life saver! I stopped using it for about 2 weeks becasue I was lazy and busy, and i broke out all over my face.

It is seriously the one of the best things I have used! Now I make sure I make time to put it on :)

Ok, so I'm usually a Clarins girl and all was well, but I was recently given some SK-II. It is expensive and I'm lucky that I didn't have to pay for it myself! I just hope the results are worth it.
I have heard really good things from the Dr Hauschka range and would love to know more about it. Is it light and non-greasy? Is it good for sensitive skin? What are the best products to start with? Otherwise, I'm back to Clarins...

It's great for sensitive skin (provided you don't have allergies to plant extracts). As for light and non-greasy, well most of the products do have a plant-oil base so it depends how oil-o-phobic you are... the Quince day cream is quite a nice easily-absorbed texture. If you are starting out I would go with the trial pack first, that way at least you get to try a few things before deciding what you like best:

It's a little expensive at about 70 dollars a bottle, but it's mega effective, gets rid of discolouration, smooths out your skin tone like never before (pretty much like wearing foundation), makes it smoother and gets rid of acne scarring. I love it, I just wish I could afford another bottle. Oh, it also comes in a sensitive skin version which I use.

Yes, Alpha H is a fantastic range, have been using their products for a few years now. Just one gripe though - the "updated" Liquid Gold has really let down their reputation. I have always found the bracing tingly nature of this product fantastic and the results show immediately. They have recently "buffered" their product and apparantly with the inclusion of more liquorice root the colour has gone from clear to a muddy Yarra River colour! Not only that, no tingling and NO RESULTS, extremely disappointed! If Adore Beauty has any of the "old stock" could you please advise? Ta

Funny you should say that - I've only been using their range for around 6 months I guess, and Liquid Gold is the only product I'm not rapt with - it's not bad, it just doesn't obviously do anything for my skin :( . Having said that, once I finish the bottle I reckon I'll give the White Gold a shot!

Hi everyone, it is awesome to see you have a forum kate!

my routine currently:

cleanse and moisturise in the mornings using trilogy's gel cleanser and vital moisturising cream. I use clinique's super city block spf 40.

At night I use the same cleanser and I use trilogy's rosehip oil.

Mid week and most weekends I exfoliate with trilogy's gentle exfoliator and on a monthly basis I use trilogy's masque.

As you will probably discover I am quite the trilogy freak!

Hmmm... I haven't heard anything about a Liquid Gold reformulation... I will investigate and report back :)

Thanks Kate. My sister actually contacted the makers in Queensland. She thought she had a bad batch but they explained that the newer bottles (completely sealed in plastic) contain more liquorice root (hence the colour change) and the product has been "buffered" and why that original tingle is missing. I have used this for several years so the difference has been glaringly obvious. My sister has (on my recommendation) been using this for about two years to control pimply congestion on her forehead. Needless to say, the new formula does nulla wheras the old one cleared it in just days! They told her they would send her another bottle of "old" Liquid Gold immediately. She had to chase this up three weeks later when still not received. Guess what? - another bottle of worthless new formula! Hope you have better luck that what she did!

Cmon forum users, please do not abandon this thread because of my mutterings! Yes, I am very passionate about skin care and don't like it when a fave stops working because of a reformulation but please keep your reviews coming!
PS Kate, any luck with the Queensland mob?

Am far too depressed to think about skin care this morning - two of those horrible hormonal lumpy pimples have appeared overnight on my chin and I know from experience they take DAYS to die down - aaarrgghh! My skin's been so great for so long I'd forgotten how much they suck! :( And no amount of makeup will properly cover them...

Hi Guys!

as you probably know I am the beauty therapist here at adore and I did the updated Alpha H training day.

The change the the product is the addition of silk protien which gives the product a silky texture on the skin.

I was not aware that there was more licorice in the product, sometimes a change of supplier of an ingredient can cause a difference in colour or even just a change of season as organic ingredient colour will change depending on weather and soil conditions. I will look into this with alpha h to find out exactly what the case is in this situation.

I do not believe they have changed the ph of the product (which is the buffering aspect) however I will check on this too. The product has a ph of 2.5-2.9 which is very low (which means strong essentially) it means the product should be well absorbed by the skin.

If you are really concerned at this point and want to try another absolutely brilliant product try the ultraceuticals even skintone serum. It contains both AHA and BHA (see my article in the ask allison section of the website) it means it has a dual action on improving skin texture, tone and improving breakouts.

will be back soon with more alpha h info for you guys....

Luisa Brown, I'm back! and I will never abandon this forum ever:) This forum is the highlight of my day.Time for me to relax and chat about my favourite subject ever! Had to take my Maltese to the vet as he wasn't feeling well, my poor baby!

Now To the Alpha - H. I have never used anything from the range. When shopping with Adore I have browsed the range but because I had never heard of it before I have never bought anything. After hearing all these rave rewiews I am going to have to get some.

My skin is combination (slightly oily t-zone and dry cheeks). My skin is in good condition as I don't suffer from acne or other skin conditions. I am very fair. Any suggestions as to what I should buy?:)

Luisa Brown, here's the official reply on Liquid Gold:

In regards to the Liquid Gold yes it has been reformulated adding hydrolyzed silk to add glide and slip when applied (will also help with dryness), the PH and glycolic content has not changed at all. The colour of the LG can also vary slightly due to liquorice extract, as this a naturally grown crop we will get some variation in colour.

For a constant user of liquid gold after a period of time the effect on the skin could seem less effective.

31-10-2006, 03:47 PM
Thanks Kate! Rather than being an ongoing user, I use this periodically so noticed the difference straight away. By the sound of the conversation my sister had with Alpha H, she is not the first to complain. I might consider the White gold and take on Allison's suggestion of the Ultraceuticals product with AHA and BHA. Havent used BHA (salicylic acid) since my teens! Have recently bought the NeoStrata Gel Plus which has 15%AHA (compared to 5% AHA with liquid gold). Have yet to use it and dermotologists recommend this range. Let you guys know how I go. Still really disappointed in new formula tho!:(

Further to last post Kate, my sis got hold of the "old" liquid gold today. Just got a text from her saying "this is what it's supposed to feel like!".:D

I currently have the Alpha H Hydrating Glycolic mask on, just about to clean it off and apply the Purifying Clay Mask. My skin looks dreadful with the stress I am under so I hope this improves it - good for the soul anyway!:)

To those who are considering the Alpha H range, I say go for it! They have a fantastic range of products. I have used, or am using...

Balancing Cleanser, Liquid Gold, Glycolic Hydrating Mask, Purifying Clay Mask, Hydrating and Calming Mask, Rejuvenating Cream with Vit C (nice and lightweight), the new Absolute Eye Gel, New Luminescent eye cream (you use these together), Hydra defense serum (magic product and the essential oils are really relaxing), 20% Vitamin C serum (love this but not the smell!) and the Ultra Protector 30+ (gave up on this one as I cant get it out of the bottle and it is so very white on your skin). Have yet to try the Micro Cleanse which sounds great and the new Tinted Moist and the Neck and Decolletage cream. Now all I need is for them to produce a Hand Cream (see hand cream thread)!!

This range is also supplied and used in salons, so you know you are getting an effective product which therapists use on their clients too. Great for many skin conditions such as acne, oily skin, pigmentation and sun damage and uneven skin tone. Give it a go!

Hey gals,

I followed up on the liquid gold for you and my suspicions were on the money it seems. Here is what head office said......

"In regards to the Liquid Gold yes it has been reformulated adding hudrolyzed silk to add glide and slip when applied(will also help with dryness), the PH and glycolic content has not changed at all. The colour of the LG can also vary slightly due to liquorice extract, as this a naturally grown crop we will get some variation in colour.

so anyways I hope that helps!

I have just ordered the alpha-h oily skin starter pack from adore and can't wait to receive it. I got the liquid gold a few weeks ago and have really noticed that this has helped my skin clear up so I figured I would try some other products from the range - cross fingers that they are just as effective:) Other wise today I used:

Aesop fabulous face cleanser
Olay moisturiser with sunscreen
Rosehip oil around my eyes

On a twice weekly basis I use an Aesop mask and an exfoliator from Decleor

-Nivea eye cream for dark circles

Today I used:

AM
Jurlique: Aromatic Hydrating Concentrate
Dr. Hauschka: Cleansing Cream (I am seeing what you mean about this cleanser Kate, it is a great product!:hearts: )
Ultraceuticals: Even Skintone Serum
Clarins: Beauty Flash Balm (just got this the other day from Adore, and am still marvelling at the wonderful effect on my skin! :D )
Ole Henriksen: Fresh Start Eye Cream

PM
Ultraceuticals: Gentle Cleansing Gel (another newby and I love it!)
Dr. Hauschka: Clarifying Toner (I don't usually use a toner as it doesn't work well with my oily parts on my face, but this seems to be okay for my skin so far...)
Ole Henriksen: Invigorating Night Gel
Ole Henriksen: Sheer Transformation Creme
Ole Henriksen: Fresh Start Eye Cream

Can someone tell me if I should be using a different eye cream at night to the one I use in the morning? And if so, what is a good one to use at night?

Hi Beauty*product* Junkie,
It's totally up to you whether you use a different eye cream for day and night. I just put on whatever takes my fancy. However I find the eye creams that have a thicker consistency are good for night time as they can be a little tricky (if they don't absorb quick enough) to try and put makeup over.

I also noticed that you have the Ole Henriksen Fresh Start Eye Cream. I got it a couple of weeks ago and am still unsure whether I like it or not. How do you find it?

beauty*product*junkie
13-11-2006, 09:40 AM
You know, that is not easy to answer pinkcupcake! Some days the Ole Henriksen Fresh Start eye cream just sinks into the skin around my eyes and it looks really good, but on other occasions it doesn't seem to work as well and just doesn't absorb. Do you find that? I will use the rest of it as it is expensive, but don't think I'll be reordering this product again. Am on the look out for a new one to try, and am thinking about the Clarins Beauty Flash eye balm, it has good reports!:spin:

I'm nearly finished the Ultra C Sheer Facial Cream & am unsure if to rebuy. Although my skin has improved a lot. Don't know whether I should use a serum either in that brand or another. Although a serum might be too heavy as I have combination skin that tends to break out easily due to stress or otherwise...

As you can see I'm a Ren freak! :hearts: Love love the products. I may change my moisturiser tho for summer to one for combo skin, as I'm finding the current one makes my skin shiny...

If you want anti-ageing then definitely keep using the Ultra C Sheer. Even Skintone Serum helps with breakouts and generally keeps the skin looking really clear and smooth, so it's a good allrounder for any age/skintype IMO. Your other option would be the Ultra A serum, which is mostly retinol (vitamin A) with a bit of BHA as well.

In my opinion, when it comes to preventing accelerated ageing, your best bet are topical antioxidants (vitamins A, C and E) and sunscreen :)

Beauty and the bees leatherwood honey and coconut cleanser for sensitive skin
Beauty and the bees flower petal toning mist
Beauty and the bees leatherwood honey and coconut moisteriser for sensitive skin

I am finding that the beauty and ghe bees products (which I have just started using) are really calming down a sudden and horrendous breakout event on my chin and around my mouth. I have no less than 8 (yes 8) massive, painful pimples on me... and I really want them to go away, not only are they painful, but its really embarrassing because they are so big, and no amount of makeup can cover these buggers up :cryinggreen:

I just wanted to write about a product that I have "rediscovered". It's the Clarins Multi Active day cream! Forgot just how good this moisturiser is and how it makes my skin feel. I remember when it first came out (many years ago!) that it was way ahead of its time incorporating temperature regulating ingredients and anti-pollution ingredients. Clarins claimed that some skin ageing could be attributed to changes in temperature that the skin goes through.

Aside from all that, it is one day cream that I would recommend you try!

I really like it!
Especially the Ultra Rich Moisuriser. I have super dry skin and it really helps. I've only been using it for two weeks but I have noticed a huge difference.
The cleanser is quite strange... it's hard to get off! But once you do your skin feels lovely and glows a bit, so it's worth the struggle :D
The eye serum I think is a must, it's the first eye cream or serum I've used and I'm enjoying using it!

I live in Sydney and I just ordered of their website. All you do is make an order, it get sent to them by email and then you call them up to give them your Credit Card details. After I called they arrived the next day!!
Not too hard at all!
And yes it has a short shelf life but I just buy the smallest jar...

I have pretty oily skin (on the t-zone) and have not yet found a suitable skincare range that works with my skin. I have heard that Ren Mayblossom & Blue Cypress Balancing Facial Wash is a good thing to use. Or the Dermalogica brand. But then again a lot of people have said you shouldn't use Dermalogica unless you have really bad acne. I don't have it too bad but there's always a few blemishes on my face. What do you all recommend? By the way, i'm 22 so nothing for mature skin thanks :P

Hi cocainelipgloss :waving:
I have a farily oily t-zone too, & have tried so many different cleansers on the market...
I've gone through 2 bottles of the Ren Mayblossom & Blue Cypress Balancing Facial Wash & am loving it! I find my skin doesn't feel dry afterwards...
however thanks to this forum, I'm trialling the Dr Hauschka cleanser in the mornings & only use the REN at night as the Dr H is no good for removing makeup. It's awesome too! :hearts:
Can't really comment on the Dermalogica range as I've never tried it...

Krissyk, how often do you use your St Ives exfoliating scrub? Do you use any other cleanser at night? I am a little concerned as especially after using the zinc in the morning, you need something that will "dissolve" and remove that and any make up effectively. Do let me know.:waving:

You must keep me informed once you start the Givenchy Eye Cream.

I have a sizeable sample of the Dr Brandt Line Erase Non Surgical Eye Cream. The texture is a cross between gel & cream and feels sensational. I have almost finished the Alpha-H Eye Products and although they have been great, I am prepared to try this new one as it has such a great reputation. Not exactly, it is an anti-wrinkle, anti dark circle, anti-oxident formulation that contours the eye, soothing and firming. It is full of vitamins, white tea and botanicals. You must get a sample pot from Mecca when you visit. :D

Hi pcc welcome back! What is the texture of Megan Gale Invisible Zinc? Is it heavy?

When I first tried it, it appeared a little heavy, heavier than my regular foundation and certainly heavier than my tinted moisturiser- remember it has zinc in it - so needs to be a bit heavier to remain on your face in the heat, etc. But I tried it on my face before hitting the beach and it seemed to stay on (didn't put my face in the water though) so I was impressed.... plus I also liked the sound of it being free of chemicals that are in most sunscreens so that got me, give it a try (Dj's has testers as do some chemists) and see what you think before you get it, it comes in invisible and tinted, the tinted is what I have.

pinkcupcake
04-01-2007, 11:31 PM
Hi Charismatic,
When I first tried the Megan Gale invisible zinc I didn't like it much. I thought it was too heavy and didn't like the way it sat on my skin. However now it is my daily must have. It is quite thick but if you warm it between your fingers and then press into your skin it seems to absorb faster.

I think it is a great makeup base. In the summer heat I don't wear a moisturiser during the day and the Invisible zinc makes the perfect barrier between my skin and my makeup. I find it also has a mattifying effect on my entire face and therefore eliminates any shine!

I have worn Megan Gale Invisible Zinc on some extremely hot days including 42oc in Melbourne and 39oc in Hobart and only applied it once in the morning and it has protected my skin all day. It is extremely long wearing and great value as you get a masive tube.

I've since changed my routine from this post in October. Dr Hauschka, so simple.

Daily Basis:
Dr Hauschka Cleansing Milk (evenings, used with a face cloth)
Dr Hauschka Facial Toner
Dr Hauschka Quince Day Cream (mornings)
Clinique Super City Block spf 40 - for days out in the sun!
Dr Hauschka Revitalising Eye Cream -at night

Tonight I have used:

Kiehl's Gentle Foaming Cleanser - It hardly foams at all! I love it and my skin feels so soft after using it.

Kiehls French Rosewater - used as a toner. I love it because it smells great and has actual rose petals floating in the bottle!

Kiehl's Crystal Marine Firming Serum - firms and rejuvinates and leaves skin feeling very well hydrated!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Mosturiser - I only use this on my slightly dry cheeks but boy does it soften them and plump up the skin!

I notice that some people chop & change their products a lot. Is this OK to do? I understand that some products are for occasional use but don't you have to use a product serially for a while to reap the benefits? I'm talking the basics - cleanse/moisturise/eye cream.

charismatic
15-01-2007, 12:24 AM
Medusa unless I really don't like a product I tend to use the same products to allow them the time to show me their best. For me, I feel it is unfair to make a snap descision when I haven't followed the recommended usage. I don't mind spending on products and I respect that they need time to show results.

Luisa Brown
15-01-2007, 12:26 AM
I chop and change all the time but if you are trying/trialing a new product I would suggest that you use that exclusively to work out if it suits (or even forbid, have a reaction to it). As you know the skin renews itself every 28 days or so, so trialing something for just a few days is not going to give you the full picture. That said, some products will produce an effect a lot faster.

It was also asked (another thread?) whether we need to stick to the same ranging. Unless the products are designed to work in synergy there is no need. Just be careful that you know the actives and are not doubling up.

pinkcupcake
15-01-2007, 05:51 PM
Geeze! I change all the time. I hardly ever continually use the same products day in and day out. I have got even worse at this since joining the forum as there are so many new products I just have to play with. Luckily my skin is great so I don't have too many problems mixing my products up. I say go with what works for you. Your skin will soon tell you if it dosn't like something you're doing to it.

However as Luisa said be careful to check the active ingredients so you don't double up as an over excited pinkcupcake did when she got the alpha-H and Ultracueticals products:redcheeks:

Hi Luisa,
I've been part of another forum (based in Canada) for a few years now and they got me hooked, and well educated on all sorts - hence I tried IS Clinical based on reviews there. They aren't available in Australia, but you can get them off the net/ebay. They are cosmeceuticals if you like - using active like Vit A, C and retinol also, but pretty well tolerated. I've been using all these anti-ageing products for years in a vain attempt to avoid wrinkles etc.

You can find the details on another forum which it seems I can't put on (didn't read the terms properly obviously.... but its the essential day spa web site). There's a WEALTH of info there on all sorts.

Hope that helps.

Hi BPJ!

I love the Ultraceuticals Ultra A serum and the ACE cream but never thought to use them one after the other. Do you find it an effective combo? I have had to have a break from my serum as skin has felt a bit pricky but absolutely love the ACE cream but tend to wear that in the morning.

I was using Dermalogica but, much to my chagrin, I'm back to trusty old Clinique Foaming Facial Cleanser, Clarifying Lotion #2 and DDM Gel. Hmmmmm, maybe I selected the wrong Derm products - the Special Cleansing Gel and MA Toner weren't active enough for me...liked the Active Moist very much though.

Am very keen to try the U/C range after so many great reviews here and lots of detailed advice from Allison. Heading to Melbourne soon so might get an Adore treatment and proper consultation first, then buy up big!

I can't remember if Allison told me to use these together, or if I read it on the U/C website? I use the Ultra C sheer cream in the mornings, so I use the ACE in the evening, which I love also! I haven't been using the Ultra A and ACE combo for long, so can't comment just yet, but nothing bad has happened yet (no horrid breakouts or irritation) so I'm taking that as a good sign! Will let you know how I'm going with it after I've been using them for a bit longer.

Good to see you back TBA! :clapping:

Last night for me:
- Ultraceuticals Ultra Milk Cleanser (was surprised at how clean yet hydrated my skin was afterwards, hardly needed any moisturiser; still think it might be a bit too rich for combo skin but will give it a couple of weeks to really see. Then it's onto the Cleansing Gel! Hey TBA can you review this for me??)

- Ultraceuticals Dark Circle Eye Cream. V.excited about this, I've got steamer trunks under my eyes at the mo!

Hi!

we have power rich available at adore now. It is a moisturiser designed for changing and aging skins that was a bit of a boost.

It does not contain retinol so you could be using your ultra a serum and even skintone serum with it if you want a more intense effect.

The Power rich does not contain AHAs or BHA. Instead it contains enzymes for a gentle exfoliation along with firming botanicals.

It will be fine to use serums in conjunction with the Power Rich

Hi Toastie!
Yeah so do I and its really annoying. Anywho you can find the Joey New York range here on Adore: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewItem.asp?idproduct=3967.

Its got: Water (Aqua), Isopropyl Alcohol, Sulphur, Salicylic Acid (1%), Bentonite, Camphor, Nylon 12, C7055, C7054, C7133. Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Zinc Oxide (CI 77947.

Hmm scary I know, but I find its quite strong stuff. It says dont use any more than twice a day, but I wouldnt use it more than once a day. My skin went so dry I almost cried. But I drag it out occasionally when my chin area gets a bit crazy.

Alice, the two cleansers are quite different. Perhaps use the Alpine Herbs in the evening as this one is better for removing/disolving makeup and the days' impurities. Use your foaming one in the shower in the morning.

Interesting question Ozkat! I am a product floozy as you know but despite switching around cleansers, eye creams and day moisturisers I have stuck fast to the UC Even Tone serum, Ultra A serum and Ultra Sheer Vit C. Want to give them the best chance of doing their job.

My skin throws a hissy if I chop and change too much, stupid breakout-prone monster that it is. That being said though I find it hard to give products a full 3-4 weeks for my skin to adjust, as soon as it gets a bit crazy I just want to change back to the one that was working before! So am training myself to let products show me their best before I do the switcheroo.

BUT am so glad I'm using Ultraceuticals now after being another brand devotee; and has helped me be much more open to trying new things, especially home-grown stuff. Go Aussie!

PS Jaime can you review the U/C exfoliating gel and hydrating gel? I really like gel-based moisturisers and am particularly interested in U/C's version...ta.

Cheers for ideas. Much Appreciated I only try to cleanse once a day with a facial cleanser, this is normally at night. In the mornings I prefer to just use water. Currently though I am experimenting because I do have 2 cleansers on the go... the milk and foaming. trying to decide which one I like the most, at this stage I think the foaming one at night is better. but reviewing on a regular basis. will update in a couple of weeks.

Well I'm home alone all night (don't feel sorry for me - I love staying home on Saturday nights and watching the West Wing!) so I treated myself to a bit of pampering:

- Lancome Gel Clarte
- Lancome Exfoliance Clarte (I did a really good long exfoliation)
- Elizabeth Arden Peel & Reveal masky thingy - don't answer the door when you have this on
- Lancome Tonique Clarte
- Garnier Nutrisse eye cream
- Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair
- Thalgo something-or-other moisturiser (sample - it's the one they use when I have a facial)

I don't normally use Lancome skincare too often but the bottles were all sitting on my shelf, mocking me, so I succumbed.

It's ok Luisa. I don't use it too often because my skin is oily and hence benefits more from a clay/mud type mask, but the Peel & Reveal does make your skin feel really great afterwards (when you've finally managed to get all the bits off, that is!). My skin really drinks up moisturiser after I've used it, too - it seems to prep the skin to absorb all the good stuff really well.

Hahaha I used old-lady skincare in my teens too! I was very into beauty and skincare but pretty clueless - hence my Creme de La Mer post! I do sort of feel like EA is an old lady brand, and I don't have anything else from them other than the Peel & Reveal. But, I figure if it's good enough for CZ-J it's good enough for me, and I actually have a friend my age who swears by their Green Tea range. Come to think of it I remembered that I had their Green Tea body exfoliant a while back and it was pretty good.

Their new range (time something?) which I mentioned ages ago in the spotted new skin care thread is quite radical. Instead of potions to increase cell turnover to keep skin younger, theirs holds back cell maturation to slow ageing. Go figure?

Hee heee yea RBB it was nice to be fussed over. I had a deep cleanse (ive been a bit clogge lately) and a lash tint.

I have to say first it was soo nice to go and have a facial coz I dont have one very often. My bf is such a sweet and this is the second thing he has done to make me go have a facial. The last was to just randomly book me in on my day off and said "Go!" :hearts:

So she did a great job at speaking to me about my concerns and wat we could do to fix it. I expressed my concern at my congestion mainly around my chin and that I would love some exractions (which was included as part of the treatment)
But when it came to the extractions she sqeezed like 4 and completely missed the area I was concerned with. She was so lovely and gentle but i dont think she got much at all.:shakehead: I asked her at the end if she got much out of my skin and she said "Yea I got a bit out but we're only allowed to do 5mins of extractions"

:flames: :flames: :shockedhair: :shockedhair: :shockedhair: :flames: :flames:

I understand that there are certain time restrictions on a treatment and that the day was booked out.

So the customer service side of things kinda soured it. I wasnt told about what she was using and only got her to write down the products she recommended when i asked her to.

Would I go back there for a facial?? Yes I would. But I wouldnt go back for a deep cleanse.

But again it was so lovely to have a facial and it was such a lovely gift from my boy.

Hi Luisa! thanks for the info! will check it! Right now, I am very much pleased and happy with my Laura Mercier, MAC, and U/C Active Mineral Colour.

Luisa, How do you find U/C Ultra A Serum? IS this ok for sensitive skin? I am very keen to try either Ultra A or Ultra C Sheer Cream but don't know which product I will use.. I have combination/oily skin, no freckles, all I want is to really clear up my skin.. Dr. Heber suggested to me the Ultra A with conjunction of Even Skintone Serum..

Thanks! :hugs:

Hi Ness!

My skin can be a little sensitive at times and I find the Ultra A serum brilliant. It contains about 0.3% retinol so a great one to start with. As for the Ultra Sheer C, I have found my skin a little prickly with this one. My girlfriend uses the 23% vit c as she couldnt use the Ultra sheer although the texture is heavier but better for a sensitive skin. I would ask Allison's advice as to whether you should use the Eventone serum or the gentle one perhaps to start but still give your skin some benefit. I just love this range. Always thought I had great skin but these products have revealed much clearer skin, just love em!:glee:

It's good! After only a few days of using it my eyes stopped being puffy. It was awesome! I hadn't realised how bad it looked until I started using this eyecream that made me look so much better!

I think I was recommended this one because it's quite a gentle one that can help with puffiness and dehydration. I don't think it has any wrinkle-busting properties if that's what you're after :)

Hi Luisa!

Thanks so much! I really appreciate you kindness and help. I am using the U/C Even Skintone Gentle Formula for almost 2 months and I really really like it! :hearts: I would also love to try either Ultra A Serum or Ultra C Sheer Cream as an anti-ageing. It's just that I don't know which product is best and wolud be beneficial for my skin. I will also ask Allison's advice regarding this. Again, thanks so much Luisa! :hugs:

Hey folks, on this late thursday evening... or friday maybe when you read this...
Into my 3rd or 4th week of Clarins enjoying the plant based products... such a change from the usual...

Any Aesop users I love to know what products you include in the routines...

In August when I visit Melbourne I think I might give this brand a go... It is available in NZ but I would like a professional consult from the experts either from Adore or one of their own stores...

I am interested a simple 3 step programme such as Aesop Fabulous Cleanser, Parsley Toner and Primrose Moisturiser...

Thanks in Advance, I have read the review thread but not many responses...
