For those of you who are going away somewhere over the holidays: what are you taking with you?
I love planning what toiletries and makeup I'm going to take away with me :ashamed: This year I'm going to the beach for a couple of weeks, so I'll be taking:
- Ultraceuticals self tan
- Megan Gale tinted daywear for the face, plus the face/body for days I won't be swimming, plus the Active waterproof (for swimming)
- MOP C-System Hydrating shampoo and conditioner, plus the treatment too I think (the beach really dries my hair out)
- Kusco-Murphy Lavender Cream to scrunch into my hair, as I don't think there will be much blowdrying happening!
- Skinceuticals C E Ferulic serum (the extra antioxidants should help keep any sun damage to a minimum)
- Dr.Hauschka Cleansing Cream because I can't live without it, plus Clarins foaming cleanser for dry skin as an evening cleanser
- Aesop Primrose moisturiser for night time
Haven't quite finalised the makeup yet, at this stage I'm thinking Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser plus MAC Studio Fix, Clarins mascara, Laura Mercier bronzing powder, Bloom shadow liner, and then one or two eyeshadow and lip gloss options.

My travel bag is always half packed. I keep a few staples in travel sizes permantly packed. Samples are also great for travel.
I have a great little stack jar of eye cream/day cream/hydrating mask by Juvena which is my fave for travel. I've got another Juvena one with a cleanser/eye make up remover/toner that click together too.
I like to pack an exfoliant for face & body too. Reapplying sunscreen all day long makes my skin feel claggy and I feel the need to scrub it off.
Toner in a pump to spritz on the plane or in the heat to refresh my face.

Toiletry bag will have Clinique cleanser, toner and moisturiser and little tube of Alpha-H Microcleanse. And Dove tanning moisturiser.
Makeup bag - MAC select concealer, Benefit Dandelion powder, the trusty Maybelline Great Lash and Du Wop Lip Venom. Whether or not any of these get used remains to be seen though. God I love holidays!

Gosh, you girls pack quite lightly, I envy you!
Although my regular make up is light it doesnt really differ when I am on holidays. My problem is even though I pack saved samples and multi-purpose items, my need for choice is what gives me a stuffed skin care/make-up bag. It tends to be the same size whether i go for a few days or weeks!

If I'm just going down the coast for a few days I usually just take sunscreen, travel sized shampoo & conditioner, tinted moisturiser, bronzer and lipgloss! It's usually pretty hot and we swim every day so I don't really bother with makeup. Even if we go down to a restaurant people tend to be in casual mode so it's all very low key!
However when I go to Melbourne or Sydney I seem to take a truck load. When I last went to Melbourne I used all the little sample containers I had received from Mecca and Kit and filled them up with my every day products. You wouldn't believe what a difference it made to my luggage weight wise. It enabled me to pack in a bit more shopping!:D
This is a hard one... I hate trying to decide, because I love having so mant opitions at home!
I will definately take Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser, and shiseido concealer.
I'll take my armani bronzer and my very favorite Stila convertible colour in Gerbera.
L'Extreme mascara will have to come. A few choices of lip gloss 7 eye shadow. Now this list is just becoming my whole make-up bag!! I can't leave things behind!
I'll take my GHD which came in a bag with sample products, so I'll take that, which is just so easy!!
I'll take a little bottle with Cetaphil cleanser inside. And then I'll TRY and decide on which one of my moisurisers I should take... as well as exfolitator to get rid of sun screen clog.
That is so much stuff!
I might not be able to take clothes:shakehead:

I should have posted this before I came away earlier last week as I've since used up some goodies I had in my bag that I used for past trips.
ren shower gel (all gone)
clinique body butter (used up today)
dr hauschka quince day cream (sample/travel size - all gone today)
dr hauschka toner (sample/travel size all gone)
dr hauschka cleansing cream (sample, all gone)
steiner sachets of shampoo & conditioner
so now I'm left with:
lucas' pawpaw ointment
toothpaste/brush
lush cynthia sylvia stout shampoo (NEW!)
lush veganese conditioner(NEW!)
lush skin sin body lotion (new)
lush flying fox shower gel (new)
clinique super city block spf 40
Deodorant
band aids, pain killers, feminine products
so I'm going to use what is in my mums tolietries bag ... for a cleanser and moisturiser (as I don't want to use any more of my new duty free ones until I get home).

OK I need help.
I am going to Thailand for two weeks tonight! I'm not sure how much I will need.
I want to take my Skinceuticals 30+ which gives me a bit of a white mask effect. What should I take to pop over the top? Bronzer or powder?
I have packed:
Bobbi Brown lip tint because it has SPF15
Clinique mascara GWP size
Eyeliner - the blue Bloom shadow liner or MAC green one? (blue eyes)
Stila Shadow pot blush or powder blush?
Should I take concealer?
SKINCARE:
I am using Dior Hydraction withSPF, but it's a big tub. I think I need a cheaper moisturiser that's really hydrating. Any suggestions?
I have a Dior GWP size cleanser. Haven't used it before, so hopefully it's good for my skin. Maybe I should squeeze some J&J into my travel bottle.
Definitely taking the Jurlique Calendula cream for after sun care for the face.
Body cream: I have to check what's there but they're all big bottles.
HELP!
With the body creams, go to Priceline or a chemist and buy little plastic bottles that you can transfer the perfect amount for travel into!

Its very humid in Thailand so I would keep it simple. It is also super casual.
Tinted SPF
Bronzer
Mascara, waterproof is a good idea or get your lashes tinted.
The Cancer Council do SPF30 lip gloss. Avail in Priceline.
They also do a SPF30 with insect repellant in one for your bod.
Due to the humidity & rain you need something to defrizz your hair, like a serum.
Wet wipes for your handbag.
Oil blotting papers
Note: if you fake tan do not get a massage. Thais use Tiger balm & it will remove your tan. Trust me! Luckily I took some self tan with me to blend the patches. :shakehead:

Caffeine Addict, I don't know if you've got time to go and get a spray tan (probably not) but it would remove the need to wear too much bronzer - you will be sweaty and blotting all day so bronzer will come off easily and possibly clog your pores a little bit. If you get a good fake tan you'll only need a light sweeping of bronzer to warm up your face, rather than relying on it to add colour (if that makes any sense).
With body lotion, I'd go the cheap option and pick up the smallish bottle of Nivea lotion (the lighter formula in the WHITE bottle). It should only last around two weeks and even if there's not much left you can just leave it there so you don't have to cart it home. I am a big fan of this type of travelling (ie leave your cheap stuff there when you go home)!

I had a fab trip and I'm using some of the lush products in the shower at home, I can't just use them for travel purposes...

I got home last night; packing again as I'm going away for the weekend up north for a few days..
so I'm packing - deodorant, toothpaste/brush, vegesorb(sorblene moisturiser), TBS ginger shampoo and olive conditioner (50ml travel size), 30ml Clinique Mild liquid facial soap, I poured some toner in a 50ml manicare container (dr hauschka clarifying toner), LUSH AOBS and Imperialis Moisturiser (I transfered some into cute little manicare travel containers), Clinique Super City Block spf 40, Lucas' Pawpaw ointment, feminine products/first aid/cotton wool.

Some friends and I were talking about popping over to Magnetic Island (which is about 20 mins off the coast here) for a girly weekend, so of course my brain immediately went into "toiletry bag" mode!! I think I'll be taking:
- Elizabeth Arden 2 in 1 toner, GWP size - good for removing makeup and grime at night but also gentle enough to use in the morning. Contains no actives or exfoliating ingredients so hopefully won't strip the tan.
- Haven't been using a toner much lately, but when I do it's Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner. Again, no ingredients that will strip the tan. I also have a travel size version of this - woot!
- my regular Garnier Nutritionist eye cream.
- Cancer Council sunscreen plus zinc as a sunscreen/moisturiser for day, and Clinique Oil-Free Dramatically Different (GWP size courtesy of PCC! - btw PCC - I went and bought the full-size :worship: ) for night.
- Charles Worthington "take-aways" shampoo and conditioner - picked these up in Priceline the other day, two for $4.95.
- Not sure if I will take razor/shaving gel - shouldn't need it for a weekend but I hate hate hate having stubbly legs!
Shower gels, body lotions and perfumes are where I run into trouble! I have a terrible need for choice in scent! I think I'll end up popping into TBS and getting their mini versions of shower gels and lotions in Papaya or Oceanus for day, and White Musk for night. The scents aren't strong enough to clash with my perfumes but are nice enough to make me feel not too deprived about my severe lack of options. Think I'll take Carolina Herrera 212 for day, and Falling in Love for night.
Makeup will be minimal - bronzer, mascara, brow powder, lipgloss and highlighter I think. Actually don't think I'll permit myself to pack anything else!
I loooooooooooooove thinking about this stuff!!

Holidays are great opportunities to take different products you haven't tried, I love planning holidays especially when it comes to organising my toilet bag! hey you won't go wrong with TBS for travel sized stuff, a good friend of mine scored a great pack to take to the uk for 6 weeks she got 60ml of shower gel, 75ml scrub, 60ml body lotion and 50ml body butter... I think it was about $50 I think maybe less....
:glee: yay for holidays, have a great time when you go!

Oz as you are in the tropics an insect repellant may be of need? I like Autan (in a red & yellow can) as it smells pleasant not like suffocating chemicals :vomit:
Don't forget to take something like Aloe Vera gel to soothe bites, sunburn, rashes etc. Somebody will always have a need of it.
Eye drops to whiten your eyes. Great after a big day in prep for a night out & great too in the morning after said big night out. ;)

Hahahaha, ohhhh M! :hugs: Don't worry, I will have all the latter stuff under control!! :chuckle: As for the mozzie repellent, aloe vera and eye drops, good thinking!! I normally take eye drops with me anywhere but I would never have thought of mozzie repellent. I seem to have this blood or skin or something that insects hate - I NEVER get bitten when everyone else is getting attacked! But I should take it anyway! And the aloe will work too.
Now we just have to plan this weekend (which in our conversations has turned from Fri morning to Mon afternoon)! I can see it falling flat on its arse!
