How lucky are we to have had Renee Griffith as a special guest on the forum?

I just wanted to do a review on Renee's fragrances. As some of you would know I purchased the Musk and Jasmine oils last week. They are gorgeous. I love the jasmine best but the musk is absolutely beautiful to.

The bottles contain 8mls of oil, but don't let this distract you as you only need a tiny little bit as they are quite strong. The oils are quickly absorbed into the skin and the scent lasts a long time. On my skin it lasts much better than even an edp!

I have also previously purchased the snowpeach and mediterranian Lily fragrances. I love love love the snowpeach. It is a sweet one but the Mediterranian Lily was a little too floral for my liking. The great thing about Renee's 30ml sprays is that they are parfum strength so the scent lasts for ages.

At $45 for the oils and $55 for the sprays you really can't go wrong with a purchase from this beautiful range. I also love the fact that it is Australian. Renee also seems such a lovely person.

Just have to find out some more about these scented candles in the range now!

I adore Jasmine fragrances - but is this one really sweet pinkcupcake? Sometimes the strong florals give me a bit of a headache (what a sook!)

I would say it is sweet but not overly sweet. It is quite strong though so if the stronger scents tend to give you headaches I would definitely try and sample it somewhere before you buy! Hope that helps.

Shall do, thanks for the advice. How do you find the musk oil?

Depends what area you are in. Let me know and I will try and find out for you.

Sorry PCC, I meant do you like it? Sometimes musk can really vary, especially the smell in the bottle as opposed to the smell on your skin. Also I'm in the ACT, perhaps I could order it from Adore? I don't think they have Renee at Myer or DJs here.

Lol raspberryberet,
Trust me to take it the wrong way! The musk oil is beautiful. It's not a sweet musk but more a complex musk. If you generally like musk I would say you would like this one. It's a little more sophisticated than a lolly smelling musk. It is quite strong being an oil and lasts on the skin for quite a long time. I am really loving it. Hope that helps!

I just received my order of the Jasmine and the Musk fragrances and they are both absolutely devine! I was a bit worried as I was going off verbal descriptions when I ordered them, not having actually smelt them... I don't know which one I love more:hugs:

Got the musk oil yesterday and gave it a whirl this morning. For what they're worth, here are my thoughts....

I smell goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!

It's a beautiful warm musk, spicy but also smooth. Great drydown with the amber kicking in, couldn't smell the rose note though. I was worried when I saw the word vanilla in the product description - normally much too sweet and have avoided it since teen years! - but it's a proper, spicy, woody vanilla. I've been sniffing my arms all day (seems to have lasted much longer than the Jasmine) and if I could snuggle into my own neck, I would!

In summary: :hearts:

Yum yum I'm wanting to try that one next. I also want to get the Jasmine in EDT - I have it in the oil and I love it.

I purchased the Mediterranean Lily - this is a gorgeous fragrance - delicate but at the same time rich, in a gentle way. To me it smells really 'wet' - like white flowers and green buds submerged in water. I wasn't sure at first because I like warmer florals but it does warm on my skin and there is vanilla or perhaps a touch of amber in the dry down. Would like a little more of that but it is still a beautiful perfume.

Next stop, Tuberose!

The Tuberose is just devine! I love the scent so much I got the Tuberose candle, absolute bliss!!!! The Jasmine is a great scent too, if you are looking to try another after the Tuberose!

I got the mini set for my birthday, a lovely gift. I think Tuberose is my fave. Not a big fan of the L'eau too fresh for my liking. The Med Lily & Snowpeach are nice but very sweet. The Amber is quite heady, a deep musk. I like it for night time.
My only gripe is that I find the packaging hard to handle. They are just tiny bottles with lids, so I have to dab them. This takes ages  I much prefer a spray. I want the Jasmine.

I really hate "dabby" bottles, the scent is just never the same as from the spritzy bottles, which is why I've never purchased the mini set, I would though if they were all spray bottles. The Jasmine is devine M. I love it.

Agreed, Jasmine is lovely and probably my fave. I wear the Musk at night, it's spicy and rich.

I have the jasmine in the oil, I would like it in the spray though. I wear tuberose when I feel like something different because its so unique. Musk is next on my list.

I have the M. Lily, which is gorgeous; a really exquisite scent, but I feel I need some more warmth or oomph, especially in winter. I would love to try the amber...Mmm, how I love amber...

Hi everyone - post #3 :waving:

I have just ordered from Renee's website, 2 of the small (10oz) bottles of Tuberose. One for a friend who loves most Tuberose fragrances and 1 is for me. With the smaller bottle I guess we can see how we go with it and it hasn't cost a fortune.

The day after I ordered the 2 Tuberose parfums, I decided to order the set of mini parfums to get a sense of all of Renee's fragrances. My only issue, and it has been raised here before, is that the bottles are tiny and dab on. It would be good to decant them into a spray. I read on another thread and I hope she doesn't mind me repeating it, but another forum member bought some small empty spray bottles from one of the cheap shops for this purpose. What a terrific idea:clapping: So off I go today to Go-Lo (a cheap shop) to see if they have anything like this - nope. I will keep looking.

Thanks.

Yeah I really dislike perfumes that are in an oil or dab-on form....I love a spray!
