I am quite a fan of the Napolean products. Until recently (this year) I didn't really ever take the time to look at his products but after purchasing a few I am really impressed. Last weekend in Melbourne I wandered across a Napolean botique in Little Collins Street. It was gorgeous with little white dressers for clients to sit at whilst they had their makeup done. I wandered in and ended up buying a pink makeup case and a gloss set. The gloss set has 5 glosses (full sized in pinks, peach, brown and a light red) for just $45. I got a couple for gifts as well. You can also get the glosses from Adore Beauty. Girls they are excellent value!

Other Napolean Products I have tried:

Auto Pilot Foundation Primer
Pomegranate and Fig Body Lotion & Shower Gel (one of my fave's)
French Lemon Body Lotion & Shower Gel (also Gorgeous)
Bronzing Brush (too cute for words)
China Doll Concealer
Marshmallow Makeup Remover

I have only tried one of their lip Glosses. I like it, but it's way too pink!

Well i was a Napoleon virgin until last month. I bought my first napoleon product, concealer. Very very nice and creamy and covers even freckles.

I got on the Napoleon bandwagon this year too. I have the primer, two nail polishes and some gloss. Am looking at getting more stuff but want to go in store and get advice - have heard the foundation stick is amaaaaaazing.

I have the Gardenia body wash and shimmer lotion, love them. Also can't get enough of the primer range. I have a couple of glosses but I find them a bit sticky.

I have their Madame Crystal and Curl Curl Mascaras which are water resistant so it doesnt suffocate your lashes, its not suppose to run (give you panda eyes) and work as well as waterproof ones. But i felt it did run a bit..

I recently got a makeover from them and I absolutely loved their
Minimal Makeup foundation range, light but very lasting coverage and along with their Camera Finish compact (its foundation and powder together for our lazy days), my makeup lasted all day and stayed quite matte (i have oily skin) throughout.
Also loving Bronzing Mosaic Powder..

Girls you should give it a try if you havent.. support Australian! :)

I went into Napolean Botique in Little Collins Street Melbourne. It was too gorgeous for words! Definitely better than the counters in department stores.

I found the sales assistants/ makeup artists to be more personable and it was really private when they tried a few things on me. I hate getting made over in department stores because there is no privacy and all the other shoppers tend to stare at you like you're a sideshow attraction at a fair!:redcheeks:

I have the Auto Pilot Primer but have been checking out the other creams in this range. Has anyone tried them? They sound a bit too good to be true.

Dream Cream
Pore Minimiser

I am a Napleon fan
The things I have tried from Napoleon include:

Auto pilot face primer - the only primer I have tried so I can't compare, however I love the feel and smell and makes ur makeup all smooth and pretty

Foundation stick - amazing. i have had a few people go and buy this themselves after borrowing mine/seeing it on me. will last all day! also, it provides good coverge (i love my coverage!) yet people seem to think it looks quite natural on me. one person asked me if i was wearing any foundation (!!!).

china doll foundation - does not move! love it. i also highly recommend the china doll eyeliner for girls who like their eyeliner. it will not smudge! its a gel.

minimal foundation - this really does not suit me too much, though i have seen it on others who it suits quite nicely. on me, it makes me very oily.

Translucent powder - great for shine

concealer - biggest fan of their concealer. definately the best i have used. i am way big on concealer due to my many facial imperfections.

colour discs - i use a colour disc for my cheeks. these are eyeshadows/ blushes. i have pale skin, so i use either #55 (an apricot shade) or #9 (beautiful peach shade).

lipliner - my fave shade is cameo.

lip lacquer - so ultra glossy, yet with massive colour! be careful though if you dont like sticky glosses... i personally do not mind them. i love BABY LIPS or CRYSTAL PINK!

mascara - they have quite a few in their range, though i use the long black mascara because i like its thin consistancy and i find it lengthens the lashes quite a bit.

my mum uses the napoleon dream cream. this is too rich for my problem skin, but she loves it. she also swears by retouch, which is good to fill in any wrinkles.

haha and that is all i know about napoleon...

Sounds like you are a fan Bellastyle! I really haven't tried much Napolean makeup as such but did receive a napolean gift voucher for Christmas for a $150 and a free makeover. I will have to check out the things you mentioned when I next go to Melbourne! I love all the Napolean things that I have tried. Have you seen that Melissa George is now the new face of Napolean?

The Napolean primer is my favourite Luisa. Do go and test it. It feels sensational on my skin. I like it much more than the Laura Mercier one that I also have.

I am in LOVE!!:hearts: :hearts: :hearts:

Bought the Auto Pilot primer and the gorgeous Mosaic (pale pinks palette) yesterday from Adore store and used them both last night.

I used my Model Co 3 in 1 foundation on top and I had the most velvety smooth skin and make-up that after 7 hours looked like I had just applied it! The powder palette has the most gorgeous hues and really flatters the skin.

Hi Gals :waving:

I've been using the Auto Pilot Dream Cream (only at night or when the weather is cool otherwise I find it too heavy) and the Auto Pilot Pre Foundation Primer - lurve them both! They smell divine and make applying my foundation a dream! (Guess that's why one is called 'dream cream'). Also a fan of the Auto Pilot Eye Spy - I have sensitive skin and never had a drama however a friend of mine did have dramas... so try before you buy!

Also use a few of the eyeshadows, have found a fab neutral one (colour disc # 6) that I can wear on it's own just to help open up the eye area a bit or I use that as the base and then define with a warm brown/bronze colour (ultra pearl #43). I love these colours as I'm very pale skinned and blonde and they aren't too heavy or in your face - perfect for the office when you don't want to go OTT! ;)

Have also got the Mosaic Powder - Gleamer. I use this on the top of my cheekbones (basically above the bronzer) - very glam! Makes you just 'glow' so always perks me up a bit!

I currently use a Lancome foundation that I love, but recently read somewhere (on the forums maybe?) that they test on animals! :flames: So am thinking when my current one runs out shortly, I'll try the Napolean foundations... they seem to be getting good reviews in all the mags etc!

Happy Australia Day everyone! (Have one for me... I'm at home with a horrible cold :tears: )

you know something else you can use the auto pilot primer for!

if you get a bit of eyeshadow that falls down around your face after you've done ur foundation, or if u make a mistake, you can get a little bit of the primer, get a concealer brush or a cotton tip thing, and wipe it off! you will then only need to pat the foundation to blend it in and it will be like new!

Luisa Brown
26-01-2007, 11:40 PM
Just checked out my Napoleon Primer tube and it does say that it is for all skin types. If anything, they are worth trying to allow your foundation to stay on better. Always apply foundation while the primer is still a bit "damp".

Luisa Brown

That's a great idea. Make sure they use the Auto Pilot Skin Primer and not the Dream Cream ( too heavy for your skin type) so you can gauge the results. Must be coming up soon?

I checked out the Blush Patrol today. Very nice looking compact, instead of their usual mosaic pattern this one has a swirl $59. It is a mixture of blush & illuminator. I tried it on & the colour was very nice, it has a sheen rather than sparkles. It is less pink than their mosaic blush.

Its part of the brand new Patrol Girl range.

I always drool over the Napolean stand in my local department store. I have tried the basic (not sure of the exact name) Napolean mascara in Jet Black, i got this free with a a magazine and i will be purchasing as soon as it run out or should i say hit pan!

Has anyone tried the Napolean self tan mouse??????? I love St Tropez but its a bit expensive for my budget at the moment and Napolean is a bit cheaper but looks to be a similar product.

Please let me know if you have..thanks:ashamed:

I am new to the Napoleon range as well, but I really love it so far, the primers are a great base for the napoleon foundation, which is one of the best I have ever used, it just seems to suit my skin beautifully. The lip glosses are good to, great for day wear, the mascara I just purchased from adore is wonderful, I am really happy with the products, well done to napoleon!

I will try to get to the little stores, they sound fabulous! :bunny:

It'd be one thing if his ego was really backed up with skills and a great product, but I've never seen a Napoleon girl whose makeup look I would want on my own face! I'd be much more likely to watch this show if it were based on Bobbi Brown or Aerin Lauder. Eh, who am I kidding, I'll probably watch it anyway.

Well the Napoleon counter girl at DJ's called me the other day telling me about how one of the Westfield's is opening a new DJ's store with a Napoleon concept counter.

She was rattling on telling me how Napoleon himself was going to be there and I could sign on to get my makeup done by him with tips and tricks for me.. and allllll this stuff I'd get for free... I butted in and said but yes, how much? Something like $500!!!! :shockedhair:

I'm sorry but he ain't worth that! And then she did the whole, which is redeemable in products of course! Well uh uh no way, not for me chickybabe!

Meanwhile, have noticed my brush (use to put on my camera finish powder) is moulting - does anyone else's NP brushes do this? I"m left with little black hairs all over my face that I have to pick off! :shakehead: Not sure I'll buy any more of theirs....

NP is not worth $500 in my opinion...
I would maybe spend $100 - $150 max for him to do my face and let that be redemable in products- yeah that would be ok -
I like his products want to get that capsicum tingly mint lip plumper gloss but after reading his brushes lose the hair I wouldnt get those.
Also if I were you, I would take it back and they should replace - they may have been a faulty batch as shouldnt be doing that!! Give it a shot..

Good Luck!!

Blush patrol - love this :hearts: the colour is perfect for me, it is just as easy to apply a hint of colour or build up as much as you want, it appears to be long lasting, looks cool & comes in a sturdy compact!! :worship:

Loose dust in gold bronze - also really liking this because even i can wear during the day because it catches the light without looking glittery ('m not a fan of makeup that looks like it has glitter in it!) and can build up amazing colour for evening, though not tested its staying power yet. i think i will be getting some more of these is other colours! :clapping:

Mosaic gleamer - overall i am happy with this, but the pink puff (which looks cute) is not very useful for applying it strategically

Ok so heres my rn down on the Whipped Dream Tan Enhancer.

Its a fine cream that gives the most grogeous bronzed colour. Warms up the pastiest of complexion (and believe me I have alot of paste!) It also has a lovely shimmer/gleam to it. I have used this over my decolletage when wearing a low top to give a bit of colour and it is devine over the top of tan of course. Great for a ngiht out with the girls or a trip to the shops or out to dinner on a date.

I t does look like a cream but it doesnt really moisturise. I put moisturiser on first. It also helps this product to glide on a lttle easier. It can dry suddenly and you do have to make sure you blend it properly too. Mainly if you dont have any tan on to cover your tracks.

Lasts till you wash it off. Havent given it the rain test tho. But a day at the shops and a bit of sweat didnt seem to effect it.

I would apply it BEFORE clothes. have wacked a bit on my chest when i had a top on and it did mark it (it came out in the wash but who has time to wash a top before running out the door :shakehead:)

5*****'s from me!! This will definitely be in my Summer must haves this season. I will not go away with out it!!

Coming from a tan-aholic i loved it, nice colour great smell not sure how i would rate it on the tanning effects (is suppose to have a slight amount of self tan in it) I would just use as a liquid bronzer i.e slapping some on the decollatage with a low top or to quickly brown myself up before a nite out. :worship:

Yea I have used up my sample and MUST gte to buy one. The Summer Packs for $99 are awwwwesome!! I dont know if they are still around but they have the scrub, whipped dream, mousse tn and after sun oil in it for only $99!! all full sizes. I think its valued at over $140!! :worship: Baaargin!!

I havent used many NP products I must admit. But I would Like too. My skin is a funny shade or rather their foundations are, for my skin an d cant get a good match or decent converage/finish.

Today I receieved my Adore Order of the the three limited edition Napolean Christmas Products! I am so happy with my purchases and can't wait to use them. They are brilliant value for money and I think everyone who is thinking about getting one shourl get them.

Madame Napolen Powder Puff - This is cuteness to the extreme and smells gorgeous (cherry blossom if i'm not mistaken). It comes in a cute little box and is as light as a feather. This would look gorgeous on anyones dresser and would make a fantastic chris cringle pressie as it's only $12.

Boudoir Palette - This is also very cute and comes in a little tortoiseshell compact that contains three shadows and two lipglosses. The shadow shades are grey, purple and a goldy colour and the lipgloss shades are gold and a deep fuschia. The compact also has a super cute built in mirror! The best thing is that it is so tiny it can even fit in your pocket. This is so cheap for just $25!

Palette Patrol - This is the bigger palette which contains three gorgeous shadows including a dark chocolate, warm tan/apricot and white. It has three lip colours in a soft pink, warm nude and red. It also has two blush shades in pink and a terracotta colour! O love this palette and I think it's super cheap for just $45.

I will report back on shade textures and blendability once I have had a chance to play!

Hi Kate,
I am deciding what to buy in my pre-adore evening order and have decided I must get me some of this Napolean Perdis Camera Finish Foundation. I am a similar skin colour to yours so was wondering which colour you use? I would also like to get the concealer in the pot. Any colour suggestion?

I am also going to get Blush Patrol, some Ultra Pearl shadows and Eye patrol Shadows as well.

Many Thanks

PCC xo

Hey PCC - I use Camera Finish Look 1, and the pot concealer in Medium.
Get your shadows etc on the night, then you can play with the colours first :clapping:

Kate, will Adore be getting the new Napolean Perdis 3 Step Auto-Pilot Skin Care set in? I am very Interested in this. I absolutely love Napoleans Dream Cream moisturiser. I think The three step is Like only $120 or something for all three products.

Hi PCC, the skincare range is exclusive to Napoleon, possibly Myer/DJs and a few independents. We can't get it for a few months but we will keep you posted.

How come you don't like him PCC?

My reason is 'cause he's way to shiney. Like a lightbulb.

I can wait and will wait and see if Adore get it in eventually. It just caught my eye and of course I had to know what the go with it was. I will definitely purchase it.

I must say that the Napolean Concealer in Amber is one of the best concealers I have ever used.

Tell us about it PCC. Is it a solid or liquidy concealer? A few shades to choose from? I just got another Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in #2 which has been a great one for me.

My Napolean Concealer is Just the plain Napolean Perdis Concealer that comes in the little pot. It's not the China Doll one (although I keen to try that one as well) The shade I use is Amber. Kate put me onto this one and also recommended the Camera Finish from Napolean's range (which I absolutely love).

It is a solid concealer but it simply melts into my skin upon application. It seems to be be the perfect consistency for my skin. I find with some other concealers they can disappear into my fine dehydration lines and in effect make them appear worse. Anyhow back to Napoleans concealer - I would say it provides medium to full coverage so it does offer superior coverage. It's fantastic on the few tiny pigmentation spots I have near my eyes also. It is certainly one of the better concealers I have used.

Definitely check out this one when next at Adore. They have the testers there to play with. I alternatively will have great pleasure showing you my "beauty" collection when I move to Melbourne.:hugs:

We can compare, swap and share :chuckle::chuckle::chuckle:

P.S I am going to order the Laura Mercier one soon as RBB has given some great reviews on that one.

Thanks for the review. I just bought another Laura Mercier Secret Concealer. I have used this before and it is lovely and creamy. It is the one in the round pot. I just couldnt get the hang of the Secret Camouflage one and it is actually designed for the face rather than under eyes like the Secret Concealer.

I bought a new one from The Balm last time I was in Kit. Christina (bless her) gave me one that is too light for my skin. Will see if it is more suitable in winter. It is dense with pigment but on the drier side, that's why I love the LM one. I use the #2 shade.

Might have to check out the Napolean one when I am next in Adore, thanks for the review xo

Just read that NP has been given his own reality TV show in the US. It's called 'Napoleon Complex' (not 'Face Off'), about the search for a gifted apprentice: http://www.napoleonperdis.com/whatsnew/index.cfm?FullText&id=66A69ACD-3048-78A9-754F1566C0C450A0

Looks like it was announced in January, did we already mention this and I missed it?
