Have any Adorables tried this? My skin is oily but easily sensitised, which is why I am attracted to non or low-foaming cleansers. Does it remove eye makeup and sunscreen easily? Anybody love it or hate it?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Sapphire,
I purchased the Alpha-H balancing cleanser about a month ago and have been really happy with it. My skin is combination (oily t-zone with slightly dry cheeks). It is very gentle so would be good for easily sensitised skin. It feels like a lotion. It leaves my skin feeling clean and soft (not stripped of oil and dry as some cleansers tend to). I would give it a go as it is not just me that really likes it. It has received rave reviews from other Adore customers.

However in saying this I don't think that the Balancing Cleanser is quite enough to remove your makeup. I think that in order to properly cleanse you need to remove your makeup with a makeup remover first and follow with a cleanser. If you can't be bothered simply use some face wipes before cleansing. It really will make a huge difference to your skin.

Hope this helps your decision making xo

Good advice, Pinkcupcake- Though my skin is quite oily I don't break out very often and I think that may be because I am always careful to cleanse properly- removing all grime and makeup, but also rinsing cleanser away properly, too.

I tried a samply of the Alpha H Balancing cleanser and I think it took makeup off- after cleansing twice- which I ususally do at night anyway. But it is hard to tell from a sample as you cannot gauge the longer-term effects.

I have oily acne prone skin and this cleanser was much too rich for my skin it caused me to breakout I would not recommend it to anybody with oily skin

Sapphire, have you tried the Triple Action Cleanser? This doesn't foam either, it's a sort of runny gel texture, but is designed more for oily skin. Balancing Cleanser is more for normal to dry skin.

I was going to suggest the triple action Kate but didn't know if it would be appropriate for sensitive skin!

It should be fine for sensitive skin, it's fragrance free and doesn't have any irritants. I don't think we've ever had anyone return it with a reaction.

Thanks yet again Kate- and everyone! I was also curious about the Triple Action cleanser but was wary because of my sensitivities- doesn't it have glycolic acid or some such thing?

To hiijak my own thread- does anybody like or dislike Triple Action cleanser?

My skin is very oily, by the way, but not acne-prone.

One last post before bed!

The triple action should suit you well, no AHA's! It does contain triclosan which is an antibacterial agent. Enjoy!

Agree with the comments about it not being strong enough to remove makeup. I use to use this cleanser in the mornings or at night if i didnt have any makeup on. I love it and i think i'll be going back to it soon

Just picked up this thread :nerd: and feel compelled to let you know I have highly sensitive skin occaisionally suffering the T zone glow. Since trying the Alpha-H triple action cleanser I rarely use anything else. It cleanses thoroughly, removes makeup and tones leaving my skin clinically clean ( and permanently free from the re-occuring hormonal spot )but not dry or irritated, ready to absorb whatever follows. If I feel a little dry, I replace with another cleanser for a few days.

charismatic, your skin sounds very much like mine. Are you fair-skinned as well? my skin is very fair and what I like to call semi-transparent- it is quite pink toned and shows up any changes in emotion, temperature etc. Eg if I giggle or get angry I become momentarily tomato-like in appearence. If I am cold I look very blue-toned. My skin has been far less sensitive in the last year or so because I am so careful about what I put on it. I love Ultraceuticals Gentle Gel Cleanser at the moment but am seriously tempted by Alpha-H Triple Action...

I didn't have much luck with the Triple Action cleanser - felt like it made my skin break out more. But a friend uses it and she says it's the best she's tried, she's addicted to the tingly clean feeling you get.

Miss Sapphire, my skin is fair but not as fair as yoursas I do not show emotional changes although when I get extremely cold I do go pale and my lips grey. I have not tried Ultraceuticals although I have heard terrific things about the range........I'm tempted to try! :waving:
