Over the weekend I used my travel sized Aesop shampoo (gentle scalp cleansing) and conditioner (revitalising Hair Sealing) and I am so impressed. My hair has never felt so soft. I also noticed that my fine hair hasn't been getting nearly as oily at the scalp as it usually does. I am definitely going to buy the full sized products from Adore. They come in huge 500ml bottles! I would have to say at the moment these Aesop products are my all time favourites!

I absolutely love the Aesop Hand Balm, smells like Mandarin and is packed full of great ingredients. Always get asked what the smell is when I apply it!
I also like the Evening Primrose mask. Gorgeous smell and very effective.
Quite an underrated range, hope to try more.

I have recently started using the Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream.
I'm loving it. Its soaks straight into my skin, no greasiness. My skin feels hydrated & soft. I'm thinking it is going to take me quite a while to get thru the jar, good value.
I am also keen to try more of the range. Seeing how Aesop are natural products and Australian are big incentives for me.

I have just started using the Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum. I wanted something very light because I use a primer, foundation and bronzer on my face everyday and heavy moisturisers make me feel slightly suffocated.
I've noticed that my skin is much softer and smoother after using it. It's lovely and light and absorbs right into my skin. I was worried it would make my (usually oily) skin shiny but it doesn't at all. I think it's great and I'm definitely going to look into more of the Aesop range.
(Also, what is the protocol with 'bumping' topics? I know this one is old so is it a no-no to reply to old topics? Or is it all good in the hood? )

I love a good bump too...:D
I use the Oil Free Facial Hydrating Serum mentioned above sometimes as well as a night serum. It really does leave your skin nice and soft and smells lovely. I usually use another serum, but the Aesop one is a lot better priced. Should probably use it more.
Over the long weekend I went on a trip to Canberra. I visited the Aesop store when I was there and I bought some things. I bought the "Fabulous Facial Cleanser" and Shampoo and Conditioner, I can't remember which specicfic ones.
I love the shampoo and conditioner, it has made my hair nice and soft and smells lovely.
But the real hero would have to be the cleanser. For about 6 months now I have had pimples pop up on my forehead, they're not big red ones, just little bumps but all over my forehead. This has been annoying for me as I have never had bad skin, even as a teenager I only had a few pimples, and they were hormonal. I don't understand why they would just pop up in my 20s, but they did.l
Anyway, after 1 use of this cleanser they were almost gone!! I literally used it before bed and woke up and the skin was smoother than it's been in 6 mos.:clapping: :clapping:
I really think this cleanser is work a try... and it's definately not drying, you're skin doesn't feel tight at all after using it!
After this experience I will most certainly be using Aesop products again, i want to try it all now.

VeeE, so glad that you are enjoying the Aesop products. Just wanted to let you know that my sister has the same problem on her forehead and I recommended the Alpha H liquid gold. It helps to decongest that area and really helps to remove and keep those bumps at bay.
Yeah, I've heard good things about Liquid Gold, but is it Ok for sensitive skin??

Should be ok, the liquorice is very calming and if you use it on your forehead you should be fine. Best to message Allison with your query to be sure as I would hate you to miss out on using such a fabulous product!

I use their hand cream (just devine) & the Rind Aromatic Body lotion which i keep in the fridge during summer, and when i come home from work i put it on to relax with the extra benefit of it being chilled ( i got this tip from the Aesop store in St.Kilda)...i use it this way all the time it's great!

I love Aesops Rind Aromatic Body Balm. The smell of it is very strong but it moisturises so well. My skin got a bit dry after having a couple of anaesthetics and it really helped soften up my skin. It's scent seems to have a calming effect on me. I love the smell of Aesop products paricularly the madarin moisturiser.

At the moment I am using Aesop's Wild Lime Hair Polish. It isn't thick and sticky in fact it is quite light and it doesn't leave the hair with any shiny residue either. I can't believe I have had this for the longest time and never bothered to use it.
I think it is best described as a serum for hair. It blowdries in beautifully and it smells spectacular. I love to have it in my hair as it matches my Jo Malone French Lime Blossom fragrance.

Still no stopping me honey! Next to get would be the Alpha H, sounds fab. I hope it compares well with the Mecca Hand-Elujah Age Defying treatment, now that is one super-star hand cream. Big plug for an el-cheapo from Priceline. Their olive range has a small tube of balm (about 50g?), such a great size and a really good hand cream, most impressed!

It absorbs really well & is super moisturising... without feeling greasy.
The smell is devine too. Am keen to try the other products in the range, esp the Body Balms.

I really love the Aesop fabulous face cleanser. It is so refreshing and feels so good on the skin. I also love the packaging.
The Fabulous Face Oil is fantastic for anyone with very dry skin. I use this is winter when my cheeks get very dry from being in the super cold weather here. I got it for my Mum to and it is a fantastic pick me up for her more mature skin which is quite dry year round.
The Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream is gorgeous and extremely well priced considering the huge 120ml jar. I haven't even made a dent in my jar yet. It also smells heavenly.
Now has anyone tried the Aesop Masks? I have had some samples of the Primrose one but you ony get 1.5ml with the Aesop samples so I am unable to really see what it's like. The parsley seed one looks interesting. Please tell me how you find them if you have them.
I love Aesop and think it is hugely underated as a brand.

I am also using..
Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Facial Toner - very good. I would repurchase. Would suit most skin types.
Fabulous Face Cleanser - great at removing my make up & SPF but I only use this at the basin as the packaging is a bit tricky. I wouldn't trust my boy & leave this in the shower :shakehead: I'm sure he would tip half of it down the drain! He needs a measured dipenser like a pump pack.
My friend swears by the Camiellia Nut Hydrating Cream for her very dry skin.

The fabulous face cleanser is tricky to use. I wonder why it doesn't come with a pump? It would certainly make it much easier to use.

a gorgeous treat whilst Im on holiday. I really like using oil for my body now instead of a lotion full of chemicals ... and not many moisturisers that are natural offer such hydration like the mainstream ones do that are chocker block full of mineral oils etc ... nasty stuff, I use it if I absolutely have to but if I can help it I wont!!!.

While your shopping for Aesop, you HAVE to try the hair products. The gentle scalp shampoo and also the rose hair mask (I use this as conditioner for my thick long hair) are awesome! Beautiful soft, shiny hair. Best condition it has ever been in I would have to say!! And I have curly hair which I blow dry straight very frequently.

We don't have Aesop in the store, but if you come in on a weekday we've usually got someone in the warehouse so it's only a matter of 5 minutes or so to have it brought over. We don't have any Aesop testers though.
FYI - if you ever want to check if something is in the shop or not - when you visit the page for that product, it will say either "Available in our Melbourne store", or "Call ahead to pick up this item from our Melbourne store". :typing:

What is your skin type fusspot? I would love to try an aesop cleanser, either fabulous or amazing, but cannot decide. My skin is very oily but also can be very reactive and delicate. Can anyone else vouch for either of these cleansers? Thanks!
I use the Fabulous Face Cleanser and I think it is brilliant! That being said, I only use it in summer once a day (at night, and I use something more gentle in the morning) or if my skin is breaking out. It's a bit to harsh for me in the winter months.

I am still using the Aesop gentle scalp cleanser shampoo and even repurchsed..... I love it. I ran out of the Rose hair mask (sob sob) and due to the price (very exxy) i thought i'd try the Hair sealing conditioner instead to use as an everday type conditioner. I am disappointed. I have to use sooooo much of it on my thick long hair and it doesn't condition enough for me I'm afraid.
Got a few samples while I was at it :glee: The mandarin moisturiser for combination skins is lovely and the camomile mask (I used it as a spot treatment) really settled the redness and inflammation quickly on my breakouts. I would purchase both of these products.

I had a chance to experiement with Aesop- I've got a few products, overall I am not impressed with what I have used thus far, very expensive too well in NZ anyway.
Amazing Cleanser - gentle enough but I can tell if you used this 2x everyday, it could dry your skin out... probably suit very oily skin, smells ok though, not too strong.
Mandarin Cream- tingly sensation when applied, ingredients packed with Citrus - Vitamin C stuff - feels like cream works while on skin, if you get what I mean, if you get full sized products they look huge, probably last for 6 months at least.. not sure about this I've used better. If you want to smell fruity and want to light moisturiser for summer this would work especially if your a patriotic australian skincare user! (Im a kiwi but do like aussie made stuff generally)
Parsley Seed Masque - weird sensation when applied, not bad though. I wouldn't buy purely because I don't maintain scheduling time for mask/masques ... I have liked/loved trilogy though probably the nicest masque and great on my skin.
I think Aesop is a brand where you really have to get a proper consult preferably in Australia unless your super confident in your skin type/condition, the girl I saw in the shop in NZ was enthusiastic but I felt that I wasn't given the right products for my skintype as I described my skin as the following: Sensitive; dry forehead, tendency to get a little oilier on cheeks but only in summer/humid auckland climate (which normally accounts for a couple of weeks) I said otherwise normal.
I can now say I've tried Aesop but It hasn't rocked my world!

These products are for oilier skintypes. The SA should have tried you on the Fabulous Face Cleanser and The Primrose cream. I have also sampled the masque & found it good. If you check the Adore site they stock & can give you a proper run down on the products.

thanks Medusa, I think i'll just give aesop a miss, it is expensive in NZ like $82 for moisturiser... no way! and I'm not sure i'd want to risk having it sent over from aussie... the cleanser is priced at $72; masques at around $40 I think and the toner I freaked when I saw the price of that it is $90. wow! I'd need to work full time for a few weeks to budget for that!

also, unfortunately it looks like the SA must have been looking to sell you new products rather than the best ones for your skin - the mandarin cream recently got a new forumla and that mask is fairly new to the range also
you should have a look at the aesop website - i haven't looked for a while, but somewhere there is a section that provides info on what to use for a wide range of different skin types (i.e. there were suggestions for at least 2 different combination skin types) maybe click on Australia when they ask what country you are in for brousing, so you can see the prices here

Me too - I love that they meld something so-called 'superficial' such as beauty products with culture an intelligence. I subscribe to their e-news and it is excellent; a real insite into local and international cultural events of interest, such as a book launch in Melbourne, a new boutique opening in Paris, or a new cafe somewhere. I also love their packaing and the way they label their products (ie 'A Rose by any other name' is obviously a reference to the well-known Shakespeare quote from Romeo & Juliet). Love it!

I just bought the Mandarin facial hydrating cream a few days ago after trying a sample and its SO good! I have quite oily skin and it matts up the oil so well. It feels tingley when you first put it on and it soaks straight in and leaves me with glowing skin.
I am giving myself a facial tonight (lol does anyone do DIY facials?) with the Primrose facial cleansing mask sample I have so I'll let everyone know how it goes.

I agree, the Mandarin facial cream is awesome. I have combination skin and it feels great on, sinks straight in and leaves no filmy residue. I got a stack of samples (and i mean about 6/7 each) of the mandarin cream, the primrose mask, the camomile anti blemish mask and the oil free hydrating serum.
The camomile mask is great as an overnight spot treatment on breakouts, dries them up really quick. Would purchase this product.
Oil free hydrating serum I find nice but not hydrating enough, so unsure whether I would purchase.
Primrose mask, only used once so far so yet to decide.
Mandarin cream, love it thinking of purchasing but feel I'd betray my beloved ultraceauticals!!! Oh the drama!!

Lol betraying the brand! I use to use Ultraceuticals, it completely cleared up my skin so I can understand why you don't want to give it up. I got onto natural products though so thats why I gave it up.
I have a sample of the oil free hydrating serum but I'm not too fussed on trying it coz oil free moisturisers always make my skin feel so tight and end up drying it out which then makes it oilier! Thats why I love the Mandarin cream coz it actually hydrates!!!

Have you noticed that Jurlique has just launched its Citrus Hand Cream? I smell an Aesop Hand Resurection fight-off!

I also love the Rejuvenate Aromatique Body Balm... with Vanilla Bean, Sandalwood & Tangerine Rind. It's smelly yummy, & is so hydrating for my skin. Love it! Plus the huge pump pack will last me ages.
I've sampled this & yes it is nice but Jesus it is expensive!

Yeah I haven't had much success with their products either Alice. But the are nice to look at!
Hi everyone! :waving: Is it true that the Aesop moisturisers need to store and keep in the fridge? thanks!
Bought Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream last week from Adore...

Hi Ness, I don't store my mandarin moisturiser in the fridge. I got it in DJs and it was sitting on the shelf there so i didn't even think about it!
I am loving this moisturiser, it has really settled my skin, its amazing!

Hi TigerEyes! thanks for the reply! I am also loving this! I have combo skin (oily t-zone, slightly dry cheeks) and it didn't cause any break outs! really amazing! and it's cost effective.

Yep, I know its awesome!!! I have combo skin too and get breakouts (too often for my liking!!) and I have really noticed a difference sind I started using it a few weeks ago. Started out with some samples and I bought the jar early last week. Great stuff :penguin:

Check your packaging. Sometimes things can be temperature stable while unopened but as soon as they are, need to go in the fridge. I don't believe this is the case with Aesop but if you are using a product based almost entirely on natural ingredients with few preservatives, best to use it up in a short time, and store under 25 degrees.

I hate it! I used to love their simple, elegant blue/white/gold packaging. Very European and elegant. I would consider not buying their products now, I am so disappointed with the new 'look'.

I agree completely!!! The new stuff does not make me want to stop and look at all. And as much as I love citrus, I don't like the idea of their new citrus hand lotion. We have Aesop's Resurrection Hand Balm for that, and to me Jurlique is all about lavender and rose!

now i have to say fusspot has been a silly girl :redcheeks:
i didn't realise that there were 2 cleansers that sounded the same
i had tried the amazing cleanser & now have tried the fabulous cleanser [oh how confusing :redcheeks:]
i went to aesop in dj's whilst in Mel , spoke with Conrad & he said the amazing would be way too drying for me [combo]
anyway i scored 6 samples & the manderin moist is lovely though not sure if i would purchase. the B c gel is lovely to use but i am already using the UC stuff , tried the purifying cleanser , nice to begin with [removed make up well & didn't feel drying or too rich] but the smell got me after a bit
so am not sure id aesop is for me

Ok I tried the Aesop B Triple C Facial Balancing Gel last night and this morning and all I can say is -
The texture is sooooo odd, it's kind of gooey but tacky at the same time, and it rubs in strangely, but leaves a matte, really smooth finish.
My skin feels really soft and lovely but the texture is so odd! I am not sure about this yet... will have to keep playing with it and see what I think in a few more days.

Celeste, at one of the stores here in Auckland that sell it (but at twice the price! !!!!!), the girls were saying that you can use the B Triple C treatment after the oil free serum, if the stickiness is an issue. I personally didn't even like the gel when I sampled it I couldn't get over using a gel as a daily moisturiser too strange....

Hmm, interesting. I see no point in using an extra product just because I don't like the texture of something... I'd rather try a different moisturiser, or get used to the texture! Being a gel doesn't bother me... it's the odd consistency. But I will see how I go after a few days.

i have only tried the oil-free face serum, it has a aloe vera base which gives it that kind of texture - a bit unusual but i found it great for middle of summer. if the balancing gel also has an aloe vera base that would probably explain it.....???
i was thinking about trying the balancing gel next summer instead of the other one because of the extra anti-oxidants - so interested in what you think after a few days

Has anyone tried Aesop's Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque? I'd love to give this a whirl but have to order on-line so don't want to chance it as yet.
Hey lou, just out of interest how are you going with your FFC? I think you bought some, could be wrong...
