I recently purchased the Wii Fit as a mean of entertainment rather than to lose weight or keep fit. I'm realising that the mini games do accelerate your heart rate and love the "personal trainer" mode for yoga and strength exercises. I'm actually motivated about doing push ups!

Anyone else have the Wii Fit or have heard reviews about it?

I think you will can definitely tone up with the Wii Fit if you use it everyday for a good solid duration (30-60minutes). The hula hoop game is pretty fun and works the waiste!

Yep, you would need the purchase the Wii console. Give it a few months and there should be another price drop.

Oh, I just saw the ad for this last night - looks great! I'm so tempted to invest in one of these. So are the range of exercises suitable for someone who can't do really med-high impact stuff? I am trying to find a suitable exercise regimen that doesn't exacerbate my chronic fatigue syndrome & though that maybe something like this that I can do at home would be handy, so I can rest as I need to.

Is it easy to balance on the platform thingy that comes with it?

My balance is shocking as it is!! Sounds like I'd have to maybe wear a helmet and elbow/knee pads!

I think it was $530 all together which I think is pretty good for a Wii AND the WiiFit

I like Wii Fit - it came out about a month ago over here, so we've had ours almost that long. I would say already that the Aerobic Exercises are the weakest, not because they don't "do" anything fitness-wise, but because they lack variety. It claims to have 9 different aerobic 'games' but actually there are only 4 (there are just beginners and advanced versions of the same game - but once you are past beginners you'd never go back!), and the routines get a little... well... routine!

The rest are good. I'd like to see more additions to the aerobics section, less repetition in what the trainers say, and maybe that you can play your own choice of music -- these would be great features! Hopefully to be remedied for Wii Fit 2!!

Depsite these little gripes, I'm still using it -- will be working out tonight!
