View Full Version : Changing from Ella Bache to Dr Hauschka

I've been a very loyal user of Ella Bache for the last 15+ years but recently I've had some skin irritations around the corner of my mouth (possible from either being pregnany or from using Colgate whitening toothpaste) and all Ella Bache products that I've tried haven't helped!:explode:
Last weekend my husband surprised me with a facial and massage using Dr Hauschka products and I immediately noticed that my skin with less red and the products were very soothing.:glee:
Any comments on either Ella Bache or Dr Hauschka products? I'm thinking of changing products and would love some advice.

Alice I have only tried the Cleansing Cream and ADORE it, will never be without this stuff - what else have you tried that you would recommend?

LL, Dr Hauschka is a lovely range. The products are pleasant to use and provide gentle yet effective care for your skin.

Im nuts about this range. but at the moment I can't say I use any of it coz its not something I could afford on a student budget.

None the less I have several favourites which I highly recommend, in accordance with my skin condition - normal, sometimes sensitive.

Facial Toner :hearts:
Cleansing Milk - pretty much one of the few cleansing milks I :hearts: - totally amazing at removing daily grime, doesn't leave a greasy film over face, I know some of friends have used this to remove makeup with a lot of success! ;)
Cleansing Cream :hearts:
Clarifying Toner (when my skin has been more sensitive and/or in the summer time)
Quince Day Cream - this the most beautiful, light, but most hydrating cream I have ever used. Its amazing!
Rose Day Cream (heavier texture, but briliant for those that need extra noursihment throughout the day)
Revitalising Eye Daily Cream (probably not the correct title) This is a moisturising under eye cream, I probably haven't given this product a good enough crack int he past, but in reflection everyone who I've told to go buy has and still uses it!
Rejevenating (spelling?) Mask - sampled this and is gorgeous ...
Lemon Body Moisturiser (fresh scent) so good for the skin
Hand Cream, Im so lazy with this but this is one hand cream I happily repurchase :hearts: .
Lip Balm - wow! :hearts:
Lip Balm Stick - good but my Weleda Everon Lip Salve, is a cheaper version of this and doesn't contain Lanolin, which is two thumbs up for me.
Toned Day Cream, if you have pale skin or like to have a warmer glow to your cheeks then this either used alone or mixed with a moisturiser is stunning.
Moisturising Day Cream - this is a light fluid, for me when I've used this sometimes its enugh for summer days, but probably one of the best things because you can mix it with another day cream to intensify moisture in the winter without feeling like you've got masses of product on.

Why I like Dr Hauschka is that its simple you cleanse, tone and moisturise in the morning. The other products are complimentary for your routine and are not specified to enhance your skin condition unless your skin requires additional care. Dr Hauschka's approach to skincare is holistic, therefore its just not about the products its about your lifestyle too. To learn more if you can find the "Awakening Beauty" book or explore the site in greater detail - especially recommend the USA site there are loads of info about products.
They are different to other brands that you may have used they use the power of the biodynamically organic grown etc formulations.... so some people may not find that they're active enough, but anyone who uses the stuff or when I've gone out to buy it say that they've not really met anyone that hasn't liked dr hauschka or not had success.

 I better stop! :typing:

Ohhhh, that's a toughie. I would say the quince is more soothing... ummmm ahhhhh. I would probably say the UC is slightly superior... slightly.

LOL. I like the Dr H packaging for some reason.

Hmmm - will need to put my thinking cap on.

I think I will get the trial kit and see how I go also.

the normal/dry/sensitive kit - is best because you have th choice of trialling 3 day creams.
I'm not a toner person either but the dr hauschka toners are devine, very few toners are good, but these top my list! the dr hauschka packaging is cool, I like the glass containers and the metal tubes.

best of luck with these, by the way the trial packs will last you from one weekend up to a week or two at the most depending how much you use.

Hi Alison,
Currently I am using all Ella Bache products. Cleansing with Creme Douce Demaquillant day and night, using the Radical Day and Night moisturisers, neck cream and special eye cream. I'm also using the floral oil in the bath or shower and then the batex cream (now it's called the water source cream) afterwards as I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant and I'm trying not to get stretch marks (so far so good!).
Anything that you could recommend would be great. Thanks so much!:worship:

Oh, I forgot to add that I also use the gommage delicat to exfoliate and the hydrant masque about once a week if I'm good and once a month if I'm naughty. Also I'm 31 yo and my skin tends to be on the dry/sensitive side with a slightly oily t-zone. I sometimes get what I've been told are "toxic" pimples??? Which I'm guessing could mean toxins in my system are casuing the pimples which generally have no head and are very sore to touch. I can be allergic to some lipsticks and so generally I don't use them anymore.
Hmm, well I guess that's everything that I can think of. I hope it's not info overload!
