(since Clarins is such a big range I thought it might be better to have separate threads for skincare and makeup :) )

True Comfort Foundation: I wear this in Shade 04, which is pretty close to perfect for me. It's a very natural finish, just a little bit dewy but not shiny. Coverage is sheer to medium, I can see my freckles through it but it's more coverage than a tinted moisturiser. It's recommended for dry skin in particular, but I think it would suit pretty much any type of skin except really oily.

Lip Colour Tint: I actually didn't like these at first (I was expecting them to be sheer and glossy like the Bloom Lip Tints or Laura Mercier Lip Kisses), but I've just started wearing #05 and I really like it! They're somewhere between a lipstick and a sheer lip stain, with a bit of sparkle in them, and they smell fruity. Lasting power is really good (still there after a cup of tea). Colour #05 is a deep rosy-pinky-red, not too bright.

Despite being one to have Clarins makeup before its release in Aust, I dont usually purchase it much now. I do have two products which I am enjoying, the Pearl Shimmer lipstick in 227 (a mauve shimmer) and the Eyeshadow Quartet in 04 Copper Shimmers with colours that resemble little pillows!

2 weeks into using Clarins skincare, I am loving some of my choices.

The Multi Active Day Cream, is brilliant I really like the finish it has on my skin, leaving it soft, supple and hydrated. :hearts:

I like the Night Lotion but I'm not 100% that I'd repurchase instead I may go for the cream, yes I think the cream would be better right??? :) .

I've got a smaller 100ml version of the cleansing milk for normal to dry skin, I like it but I will reserve anymore discussion until I use the full size Gentle Foaming Cleanser for all skin types. I can't decide if I would like to use a Milk cleanser or a foaming?

I bought the Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange, this leaves my skin feeling wonderful but I want to try the gentle facial peeling next time round. Finding the right exfoliator is important, gentle but thorough, can not dry out skin. :fish:

The Eye Contour Balm, feels lovely. But I've never been a person to use lots of different products etc So At the end of this which is be probably the end of the this year as the tube is quite big I don't think I will re-purchase.

The Beauty Flash Balm and Eye Balm both ok but a little over-rated I think I'll use them when needed and let my friends try them out in the coming months. Not overly happy, but glad I bought them as I now know what I like the most. ...

:hearts: The Facial Toner Normal to Dry Skin - This good, skin feels ready for moisturiser, balances out my skin. Will repurchase as part of the regular 3 step cleanse, tone and moisturise.

The Clarins Products I Have Are As Follows:

Cleansing Milk With Gentian - A lovelt milky cream cleanser that is extremely gentle on the skin.

Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser - I find it hard using this as a cleanser as it feels more like an exfolient. I guess it is a good two in one product but I prefer to do the two processes seperatley.

Toning Lotion with Iris - a nice alcohol free toner, green in colour, leaves skin feeling soft and clean.

Waterless Cleanser - I have both the peach (for normal skin) and the Mint (for combination skin). I use both of these as toners. Eventhough I have combination skin the peach is fine so it probably wasn't necessary to buy the mint as well but anyway;). I personally couldn't use these waterless cleansers as cleansers, they just don't give me a deep enough clean but they are a seriously brilliant toner and perfect for finishing off the cleansing process.

Beauty Flash Balm - Don't need to say much here, this a cult product and it toslly lifts a dull complexion.

Beauty Flash Eye Revive Cream - Works on the eyes in much the same way as the Beauty Flash Balm works on the face. I put this over the top of my usual eye cream to give tired eyes a lift.

Aromatic Plant Purifying Mask - A plant based mask that deep cleanses and leaves skin feeling soft afterwards (not tight and dehydrated as some others do). It's green in colour and dries quickly.

Thirst Quenching Hydra Care Mask - A great mask for rehydrating the skin. My skin drinks this stuff up like there's no tomorrow.

Thirst Quenching Hydracare Serum - This stuff is seriously good for dehydrated skin. It comes in spray form and can either be applied directly to the face or onto a cotton pad. I sometimes use a toner.

Gentle Exfoliating Refiner - A great gentle scrub with very tiny scrub particles.

Alice, the Multi Active day cream is super, such a good choice, particularly with colder weather coming up. Do you know that this helps to temperature regulate your skin so it suffers less from weather extremes?

I would definitely suggest the Mulit Active Night cream over the lotion particularly if you like the MA Day. The texture is still quite lightweight and gives such a noticeable difference to your skin.

I wrote elsewhere about the two cleansers. The Alpine herbs one is best as a makeup remover and the foaming one great in the shower. Their toner is a great choice and is alcohol free. The Gentle Facial Peeling is a great product, when you get past the fact it doesnt have any granules and is 'rubbed off" but a really good choice for sensitive skins.

I am in the same mind about the Eye Balm (their Eye Gel is spectacular though). The Beauty Flash eye balm may perform better if you are using a decent amount and patting all around eye area and allow to dry.

Hope that helps!

I quite like the Clarins eyeshadows but have only tried them once or twice...don't actually own any, must do something about that!

Was impressed with Beauty Flash Eye Balm despite the hype, I could see a difference in terms of tightness and 'brightness' almost instantly.

This sounds promising....I have been so disappointed in the past with lightening and brightening creams. I am generally better with a lightening concealor. I bought the YSL eye cream pen (anti-ageing also) to go with the Touche Eclat, but was extremely disappointed in it, and didnt even get to half the tube before I lost interest. I will go and look this one up...thanks.:worship:

PS Tried the Beauty Flash Balm a few years ago as well, but it didnt do alot for my skin...but then again, back then I probably didnt need it:confused:

Know what you mean about the BFB for skin. Didn't do it for me either but like you I don't think it was quite right for me at the time. My eyes definitely need help though, so hit me with your best shot (sorry, Pat Benatar on the brain since the 'music of your childhood' thread!)

Beauty Flash Balm is an interesting product. Not really beneficial like a regular skin care item but still a useful one at that. It does have some firming properties but essentially it is sold to use as an under makeup primer (yes BFB was one of the first!).

Not many know that you can use it in a thick layer as a mask, particularly good for sensitive skins to calm it down.

You know, I've never picked up on that priming aspect Luisa but it now seems so obvious. Perhaps I was expecting the wrong result! Must give it another try in the proper context.

Very interesting, thanks for the info.

 How were you actually using it then RBB??

You need to apply foundation while it is still moist or you can mix some with your foundation. If you let it dry and try and apply, it can get very bitsy and peel off!

I think I misintepreted the 'pick-me-up' aspect and used it instead of moisturiser when I thought my skin needed a lift (silly duffa that I am). Can see that it would work much better as a primer, duh! :dunce:

Thankyou so very much for the reply.

I am loving the Day Cream indeed, and you're probably right too regarding the night lotion; I think I will get the night cream next time round. I don't wear any/ rarely wear makeup therefore the gentle foaming cleanser is my preferred option thus far. ... Thanks to for the other post on the other thread.

I have tried my hardest but I won't be re-purchasing clarins... just not a brand for me. Will use up and move on.

Has anyone used the Clarins Truly Matte Blemish Control or Clarins Truly Matte Pore Minimizing Serum?

I just got Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara, after I saw that Kate really loves it! I was quite shocked at the size of the wand actually! I curled my lashes and applied the mascara to both top and bottom lashes - I love it! My new favourite mascara! It lengthens my lashes, but seperates them - no clumping of the lashes together like a couple of my other ones. Really opens my eyes! :glee: Love it!

I also got a 7ml sample of Clarins Colour Quench Lip Balm in 07, its a pink. Very fruity and glossy, a good fairly sheer everyday gloss. I will be purchasing this one!
