Hi -

I am having terrible trouble with my skin at the moment. Every few days I get a couple of new pimples, mainly in my hairline (only rarely in other areas) - but they're not like any pimples I've had before: they're blind, can be quite painful for several days, don't come to a head and take a very long time to go away (even after the soreness and swelling have gone there can be a red spot for weeks). I don't know what to do about them. They don't seem related to the hair products I use (I still get them even when I don't put product in my hair for a few weeks) - although I have been using a relatively new shampoo over the last 6 months or so (ie one I haven't used before), I don't know if that could have something to do with it?

My skin otherwise tends to be normal and a bit dry/dehydrated, I get regular pimples and blackheads premenstrually but they don't last like these ones do. I use a plain unscented cream cleanser from the health food shop and am currently moisturising just with rosehip oil as I don't know what else to put on my skin to try and calm it down. Do you have any suggestions?

Many thanks for your help, I appreciate it!

Hi Elessar,

Have there been any other life style changes or stress recently?

I am going to recommend a couple of simple options to get started and you can expand on that as you wish... just let me know.

Cleanse- skinceuticals simply clean cleanser: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=9013

follow with ultra A facial cream:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1832
to hydrate and clear

I am recommending this like a mental woman on the forum- but only because it's so light and non clogging yet calming and offers a 30+ SPF protection- Becca primer: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=11020

You can do the same at night time, but after cleansing you will use the even skintone serum and follow with the moisturiser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1829

that is a very basic start for now... we can add to this in a few weeks if you would like to intensify the results!
