I've just started on Roaccutane but because of some pretty bad side effects I'm only taking it once a week.
So I'm not sure how much my skin will dry out or anything so I basically need to change my whole routine. What would you reccommend

Thanks:bunny:

Hi there,

I think keeping it simple and soothing is a good idea. There are ingredients you need to avoid. This routine is safe yet very effective:

AM
cleanse with ultra milk cleanser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1826

then ultra C sheer: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adoreb...idproduct=4734
You can use the ultra c sheer once a day which will help to clear and heal

The Becca primer is fantistic as it's light and it's soothing because of its zinc base but also has an SPF 30+- essential for protection and to prevent pigmentation which can easily happen with healing spots exposed to sun!: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=11020

PM
cleanser then the skinceuticals phyto corrective gel to add hydration and to calm aggravated skin:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=4355

then the ultra moisturiser: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adoreb...idproduct=1833
your skin will probably feel quite dry while you are taking the medication so this will hydrate while not feeling greasy. You can apply this on top of the C sheer in the morning if you feel you need the additional hydration.

sound good?

Hi Ishtar,

Be careful I was on those drugs for 18 months and ranged in dosage from 3 a day to one every 2nd day. I was alot younger but the effects were not as publicised as they are now. My biggest advice is to go natural & organic don't do anything with artificial fragrance or synthetic parabens. The chemical companies will argue that its ok, but take advice from someone who had along experience you want the best to assist in repairing. Trilogy, Sanctum, Kosmea, Organic Spa & Mukti are some good options.

the recommendations are fragrance free with ingredients to promote hydration and healing which is essential when on such strong medication.
