We have a thread dedicated to the good looks in movies... and after seeing What Happens In Vegas last night (Gold Class thankyouverymuch) all I could think about was jumping on the Forum and bagging the lovely Cameron Diaz's makeup.

Her makeup artist deserves to be shot. Or at the very least - unemployed.

Throughout the whole movie, Cameron looked too brown, too shiny, lips nude but too glossy... it was horrible. While we're getting rid of her makeup artist, the hairdresser needs to go too. Her locks were so bleached, dry and brittle, her hair looked pretty bad throughout the movie too.

She's usually so glam! Here, though, she looked sun damaged, over tanned, and... dare I say it... OLD.

What a shame...

I don't like Cameron Diaz's makeup in general. Most of the time it looks pretty crappy.

This is kinda off topic, but the other night i was watching Sandra Sully do the news and her skin on her face was lighter than her chest, so she looked tanned on her body but not her face. I felt sorry for Sandra.

My boy was like "how can you even notice that?" :chuckle:

I think it looks worse when girls faces look more brown (aka orange) on their faces then their necks. Ewwwww

We were talking about that last night in beauty school!

The lighting shows it up because apparently your neck is almost always a different colour to your face; your face actually tends to be darker, as the neck doesn't get the sun as much. That's why it's best for performers and TV presenters to go at least one shade darker in foundation and use it on the face and then blend it down the jawline into the neck and decolletage if needed. You can even go a slightly darker shade on the neck, or use lots of bronzer.

Going a shade darker throughout is also really important for presenters with a lot of pink in their skintone/prone to redness.

Class nerd alert!

I was just commenting the other day on Cameron Diaz's terrible makeup in that Las Vegas - and I haven't even seen the film, that was just from the trailer!

The whole too-pale lips thing, heavily-lined eyes, bronzed skin thing just aged her so, so much. She would look so pretty in fresh colours and a stronger lip.

So glad someone has seen the makeup and agrees!! :hugs:

Cammy is still trying to pass herself off as a 21 year old sometimes I think, which makes her look even older than she is.

Not a movie, but I thought SJP didn't look so great in a particular episode - where the Russian comes to take her out and ends up cooking dinner at her place. She's wearing that huge layered white skirt and the most garish, awful red lips. The colour was much, much too strong for her, it looked really harsh.

Yeah, Carrie had some shockers! There was an ep. in season 1 or 2 and she's wearing a grey glittery eyeshadow and it's SO ageing.

.

That is exactly what Margaret Pomeranz (?spelling) said on the Movie Show the other night (she of the chook neck and too much bronzer herself!). Needless to say, neither of them liked the movie.:chuckle:

I was watching Germany's Next Top Model on Thursday (:redcheeks: it's errrr... practise for learning to speak
German!! they are down to the final six) and one of the wannabe models had the most atrocious makeup on -- VERY orange blush combined with berry lipstick! It was awful - reminded me of Harlotte Michelle's advice to always make sure your lipstick and blush are from the same colour family!!

Hee! Yes I saw that also. David actually looked quite bemused, he said "what has happened to Cameron?"

I love GNTM! I love how they go to more than one international location. The shoots are always so cool. :waving:
