View Full Version : Philosophy
Their cleanser, 'Purity' is superb: gentle, but seems to really clean the skin. Love it!

I've used the 3 in 1 shower gel, buble bath and shampoo and the lip blams and lovethem. I've also just bought the milkman suitcase. I've only used the lip gloss so far and it's fab.

i've got the present clear makeup which is a primer. it goes on beautiful and makeup really stays put without the shine factor. really worth trying :)

I have the strawberry milkshake one fusspot...delish, very true to its name! I know it says you can use it as a shampoo but I wouldn't recommend this. Tried it once; results not good. But sure did smell nice.
I'm eyeing off the cinnamon buns. Bakery goodness.

Has anyone tried the new Philosphy mineral make-up? With the puff thing on top. What's it like? Is the application easy?

Haven't tried it - but have been eyeing it for ages!! I had a quick read of a few reviews on MakeupAlley (there's over 200 of them!!), and there seems to be mixed opinions about it. A lot of issues seem to be about finding a suitable colour.
The other day, I ordered the Mirenesse mineral foundation, which pretty much has identical packaging to the Philosophy one - the same big powder puff & tall lid to fit it in. So I might be able to let you know about how application with that big powder puff goes when I get it.
I've just been finding that mineral foundation can be unpredictable - different brands have different effects on people. The last brand I tried (Colores) didn't sit very well on my skin & also made me sneeze a lot! :chuckle: But other people have had good results with it. My brother uses it to cover up some scars he has on his face from having sun spots removed - and they cover the redness very nicely, without looking like he has put anything on there.

Hi everyone just a note to say that I use Every philosophy skincare product and love love love it,However I cannot use purity and had to give it to my other half to use instead. It brought me out in huge red lumps and what looked like sunburn on my neck.Thought I was alergic to an ingredient but have read quite a few reviews on google with the same problems, its supposed to be mild enough for a baby to use but something is doing this to peoples skin.I use all of their other products with no probs at all(love hope in a jar,and replenishing night cream.)The skin firming serum is ace too.I could not live without hope in a tube eye and lip cream and firming neck cream.Just thought I would let you all know to watch out for purity,it contains black pepper, and I find this a weird ingredient in a skincare product, maybe that is the culprit.careful people.

I use purity cleanser and i find that it's very good at the end of the day for removing make up and sunscreen and other end-of-the-day grime. However, I think it's a *bit* harsh to use on 'naked' skin first thing in the morning...
Also from Philosophy I have the 'waffle cones' shower gel (3in1 kind) which is soooo edible, and i recently got the shear splendor shampoo and conditioner which smell like lemon drizzle cake...totally divine
Oh and the mineral make up, I recently tried the urban decay version with the puff thing on it and i believe... I am not a fan. I found it gives quite a heavy finish...or maybe I didn't use it right, either way I haven't got the patience to experiment... it's a miss for me!

I've never tried any Philosophy "skincare"....would love to! I thought it was sort of frivolous but a lot of people swear by Hope in a Jar.

I hear that Hope in a Jar is Oprah's favorite cream. And She can afford anything, so it must be doing something right!

Yeah! She has had it as one of her "Favourite Things" as well. I've always been curious to try it.

I love Philosophy's 3 minute facial. It's a scrub, mask and cleanser all in one. However I can only use it once every now and then as it's a bit too harsh for everyday use.
I Have Hope in a Jar minature sizes that I got with a Philosophy starter kit at Christmas, will have to get it out and use it. I actually was inspired by Oprah:redcheeks: to get the Ginger Bread Man Scrub and Body Souflee after seeing her give it away on Oprah's Favourite Things Giveaway! I know..... I really do need to get a LIFE!

They're the best! Imagine the excitement of being in the audience that day! I always had this visual of them driving home with all the stuff - so stupid! It's like how I used to think all TV was live and I was amazed how quick some people changed from being on the show to being in ad's, like that "Flora" chick on some British show.
