Hi Lady Allison,
I have Asian skin and my therapist told me all acid peels are not suitable for colored skin because it will cause pigmentation. But I know somebody has darker skin than mine and still hav good result from peels. My therapist gave me a microdamerbraion and a multilase treatment but I feel micro is just like scrub and I hav done regular exfolioation so i dont think it will do much for me. I really need something deeper.
So is all acid peels really not suitable for me? And my therapist asked me to hav micro every week, will that be too frequent because I hearld many people just do it twice a year.

Thanks a lot!
Amy

Hi Amy,

peels are fine on asian skins and I have treated many. Care needs to be taken with very dark skin types, but not in the asian skin tonal range generally.

I am not sure what equipment your therapist is using so I can't comment on the frequency that you should be having micro treatments I'm afraid. You can always ask her for more information.

Often an intensive treatment plan is used when clients start having peels or micro. With the peels I do it's a peel every 2 weeks for six treatments then we can continue in this way or we can space them out a bit more. Have them monthly and then we can do another intensive series at some point to boost the skin.

I imagine that she may be aiming at the same idea with suggesting frequent treatments for a period of time. Feel free to ask her for more detail about what and why. It's your skin and it's always good to ask questions.
