Hi! New here from Perth. Well, now I live in Perth, but I am originally from the US (Oregon, if anyone cares) moved to Perth when I married my Aussie hubby, leaving three grown kids and the rest of my family behind in the US, so we try to get back lots to visit.
I am a huge beauty addict, semi-active also on Vogue Forums and pretty active on Basenotes. I have never ordered from Adore before, but am planning a big order later this week. I have been desperately looking for new skincare and am disgusted with ************** (don't want to get in trouble in case dissing another outfit is against the rules, you can figure it out!)
I will be posting lots probably, as I love online forums and tend to jump right in, like a fool!:typing: I am tired of all the kiddies on some of the other forums and hope there are some people my age around here (just turned 50 and if I must say so myself, I look fabu or at least, I don't scare children in the dark!) I work in admin for a non-profit here in Perth and am going back to Uni in a few weeks, part time, to finish my degree in Soc, so I am online alot "doing research" for one thing or the other.
Anyway, I have prattled on long enough for tonite, will be back soon!!!!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here!

Hi there :waving: Welcome. Yes there are a few of us here with kids and "wisdom" :chuckle: You are not alone. Looking forward to hearing all about your fave products & reviews. Perhaps you could give us info on US products that we don't have access to here and maybe some sites that ship here? Have you noticed yet how badly we get ripped off here :shakehead: Hope you stocked up on beauty products before you left the states!

Well, I have as hard a time with US brands (getting ahold of them, and missing them, that is) as you all do. We haven't been back to the US in two years, as we are saving up and having some work done on our house to sell it. My husband says in about another year that we are moving back to the US, but we will see. Maybe just a three month vacation or so, I don't know. He has long service leave coming up at that time. I mostly buy online if I need something desperately, or have my daughters scoot over to Sephora or such and get stuff for me. They live right smack in Hollywood, within walking distance of Mann's Chinese, so...
The only thing I have found in the US that I can't get or find a reasonable substitute for here, are some particular toothpicks that I love and Burt's Bees products. I especially love Burt's Bees Rescue Lotion, it is the only thing that keeps the mozzie bites from itching!! I have been having better luck with the mozzies since I have been dosing up on the B6, I take two or three chewables a day and hardly ever get bitten anymore.:clapping:
I am fairly happy with several Aussie brands, I am using some Dermalogica, Alchemy and Trilogy products. My skin is not doing well with the Dermalogica, except the tinted moisturizer, but I don't blame the product, I have had a lot of changes in my diet and skin over the last two years. I have lost over 40 kilos in the last two years and my skin is much drier and all my wrinkles show now. I started with the Dermalogica about two years ago, right before I made these big changes and all, so now everything is very different and I am looking at something for more mature skin. I have been using some Clarins night cream and all, so I will be asking for help here.
Anyway, I am at work today so I had better go get some work done.
Thanks for the warm welcome!!:hugs:

Adore stock Burt's Bees!
Check out another fantastic Australian skincare brand - Ultraceuticals for great professional strength products. Shizen, Aesop, Becca, 2 Peas in a Pod, Bloom, Invisible Zinc, Model Co, Napoleon and Renee are other Oz faves and all avail at Adore. :worship: Happy shopping! :chuckle:

Oh yeah, Ultraceuticals is one of the ones I have been looking at. Wish I could get some samples, but I will probably try a cleanser and a daytime moisturizer, since those are two things I need to change. I am using Moo Goo and it is good for removing makeup, but I don't like to use it all the time. I am lemming after some 2 Peas in a Pod candles, I love good smelling things, I am trying to get a diploma in Aromatherapy (on top of everyting else, I do like to keep busy). I have some Bloom make-up, I didn't know they were an Australian company! Bloom makes the only lipgloss I like! I prefer lipstick because I have long hair and my hair doesn't get caught by lipstick and the Bloom glosses, as they are not so gloppy, sticky. LOL
Thanks for all the great suggestions!!
Back to the salt mines!

hi April Dancer, i have already spotted you elsewhere on the forum, but would like to formally say welcome to the forum. i think you will like it - everyone is sooooo nice!
i might not be older and wiser yet, but i do like things that smell nice, like BPAL, and share your preference for lipstick due to the long hair Vs lip gloss war :chuckle: (though i have recently discovered nars glosses are relatively ok)
