Hi Lady Allison,

I'm 25 and I have had acne for the last ten years. I have been on Roaccutane three times now, and after a year or two my pimples start coming back. The roaccutane has left my skin quite red and flushed.
I feel my acne is very stubborn and congested, I get a lot of small pimples all over the face, especially in the forehead area, and some nasty ones around my chin and neck.
I have recently been to a naturopath and I am on b complex, zinc, probiotics and fish oil daily.
I would like a skincare routine to add to this.
I have tried dermalogica products.. special cleaning gel, multiactive toner, active moist, skin refining masque and gentle exfoliant cream, which has done nothing for my skin whatsoever.
I notice that the alpha-h active pack has been recommended for acne.. however I'm not sure how it would go down with my skin, as i feel i am sensitive after the roaccutane.
Would love a skincare routine.
I am on a budget, as only working part-time at the moment

Thanks heaps!

Hi electra,

What I am going to do is wean your skin onto a more 'hard core' active routine slowly while at the same time keeping it soothed and hydrated. we can do it all damn it!! :chuckle:

AM
murad soothing gel cleanser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=5426
a Calming gel cleanser! major rarity but perfect for your skin!

apply an eye cream

follow with the phyto corective gel to balance oil and pores while calming:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=4355

apply the ultra c sheer cream to clear the skin but also to tone down irritation:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=4734

Apply a good LIGHT non irritating sun screen like the Becca primer SPF 30+: http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=11020

PM
cleanse as above

eye cream

follow with the phyto corrective gel

follow with the ultra a treatment serum:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1828

So you are using the same cleanser and treatment gel both morning and night which makes that part simple and then a treatment product for day and one for night... I know you are on a buget and I've tried to keep it as simple as i could while still delivering results.

At this point, with your skin being quite problematic you may not need a moisturiser over that retinol night serum so let's see how you go with that so far!

let me know how you go and we can tweak where necessary.
