Hi everyone,
I am new here so hope my post is OK!
Ok, so i am in need of a change! I have had the same cut and colour all my life, and i wear my hair straightened everyday. So as you can imagine i am getting tired of this!
Has anyone got any pics of styles / cuts / colours that would look good? I have no idea! (if it helps dark brown eyes)... :)
Thanks again!:worship:

Hello bella! Were you looking to go much shorter? I am getting the big chop this saturday:chuckle:. HAve you always had a centre part, would you consider a side part?
princess precious
16-04-2008, 02:01 PM
I suggest you get a really nice side fringe that is sweepy across your forhead. You will surprise how much a fringe can change a hair style.
Maybe go a dark blonde instead of your currently blonde so that it isn't too drastic for you.
This is all i've go so far, i'll try and find some photos.

A fringe! A fringe! I got one a couple of months ago and I looooove it, it just instantly updates a plain shoulder-length cut into something much more funky.
You could start with a sideswept fringe if you wanted to take baby steps into it, but I reckon your hair would look great with a Kate Moss blunt fringe like this:

Welcome Bella!
The idea of a fringe is great - you could get it cut so you and sweep it or wear it a la kate moss.
Wearing a bit wavy and JBF looks hott too.
Ve Ve - I am booked in for my hair Friday night - I want to poo my pants.

As somebody said here go for a darker blonde, maybe something like Jackie O's colour. She rockin' a deeper caramel blonde/brown with a few well placed highlights and it looks great. I would go for the Kate Moss fringe combo also!!!!
This is the cut I am getting, but with a less severe side part.
I have no idea why it has the longest name ever.

VeeE i love that Nicole Ritchie hair cut, it will look so chic on you.
Make sure you do a before and after photo for us.
I wish i had the balls to get some length off my hair, i freak out when my HD takes 1cm off let alone the 2 inches that i need. I have a round chubby face and i worry that the hair cut will amke it look rounder and chubbier.

I wish i had 30cm to cut off, if i cut 30cm off my hair i'd be bald
I agree that is a lot of length to cut off in one go, have you thought about maybe just 5cm at a time until your comfortable with going shorter.
My problem is i am forever trying to grow my hair but it does grow and then i get sick off it and cut it off. I hate my hair at the moment, i wish i had a celebrity hair stylist to do my hair everyday.

Have you ever played around with different coloured foils in the your colour that you already have, for example: caramel, ice blonde and brown. This would give you a really nice multi tonal colour as long as the foils are fine and not big thick chunky ones otherwise you'll look like a skunk

Miss Bella you'll just have to watch channel 10 to see her on the new ad for BB. It is darker again than these pics which really isn't much difference from what you have already. The darker caramel blonde almost bordering on light caramel brown is the tone I reckon will rock your soxs!! Don't forget the few highlights though just to break it up. And as the ladies here have suggested a fringe.Whether you choose a side or a full one is something you should consult with your stylist as to what will suit you best.:waving::waving:

Just pop in some clip in extensions when you need your long hair fix. Thats what I do when I get bored and want super long hair. And then there is no maintinence like the glued in ones.Wear em for a glam night out then whip em out when you get home.

really? Thats a shame. My girlfriend makes sure a have a blend of a few different shades of my hair colour so it looks natural. Remi certified human hair extentions are the best as all the cuticle layers are in the same direction as in a natural head of hair. They cost more but are so gorgeous.Make sure the hairdresser tapers the extentions to suit your hair also as I think this is the main reason people extentions look fake as they are not blended. ( and probably don't have them too long. Then it's "stripper hair.")
Natalie bassingthwaite in so you think you can dance wore them alot in the program and they looked very natural.

I would need a rec for a place to go I think, I have only ever seen one person whose hair I couldn't believe were extensions but she gets them done in Adelaide.
Yes - Nat Bass's looked great - I was amazed!
I'll ask her if she has a stockist in your direction. Where abouts are you Loola?

Thanks heaps!
VeeE are you still happy with your shorter hair do???
Sorry, took me a while to notice this question!
I still love it. I left my GHD in the Blue Mountains (is being posted to me, hopefully it doesn't get lost by Aus Post :shakehead:), so it looks pretty shit today!

I am thinking of getting my hair cut pretty short, I have had basically the same style since god knows when, and have only got brave a few times but I always grow it back to the same old style :shakehead:
I am thinking of a style like the short one that Sharon Stone had a few years ago, its short and sassy, very easy to look after, I did this when I killed my hair with too much hair dye and GHDs about 4 years go, :shakehead: it was breaking off in little half inch bits :redcheeks:
I felt that it really suited me and while I was basically the same size I am now, (well maybe a bit smaller now) I was surprised that it actually made my face look smaller which was great :glee: the only problem I have is the fact that I have too much flab on my neck ( yuk that sounds gross! ) so from the front it looks ok but from the side it looks like I don't have much of a jawline :shakehead: everything seems to have slid off my face :chuckle::chuckle: I just need to lose a good amount of weight (20kg) and I will have a nice jawline again!:clapping:
I promise to take pics if I get it done, only from the front though :chuckle:

Hiya Loola. Sorry for late reply. My bestie had her phone turned off as she was doing a photo shoot. Unfortunately no stockists yet but after Hair Expo in June they will have in stock in some selected salons around Melbourne.
If you are still keen and need them soon I would ask the salon who stocks extentions if they are remi certified. Some suppliers use inferior wefts and pass them off as Remi hair. Try them on and feel the texture and ask for suitable blends of colour.

I going to the hairdresser 2 weeks from today and i have to get about 1-2inches cut off because it is really unhealthy and is starting to split. So below are photos of styles i'm thinking of getting.
First pic: Probably more like the one that i want and the length is right too, i would have to loose 2 inches off my hair to get to this length and my HD will have to thin my hair heaps
2nd pic: much shorter than what i would want but maybe the same style but shoulder length and not at chunky on the bottom layer, once again my hd will have to do a lot of thinning.
I'll post a before and after when i get it done.

I like the first one as it is more tapered and the fringe sits better( probably cause its darker also it is more striking) I like the layers that sit around the face also. Whoo hoo! How exciting PP!!:glee::glee::glee:

Me too, i think i'll take the photo of the first one in to my HD and see what she thinks.
I'm keeping the same colour aswell which is a chocolate brown base with fine blonde highlights to break it up a bit. I'm happy with my colour, i just need a new cut.

First one for sure PP - will look so cute on you. It will be easy to style and play with, it's chic and verstile and can be very sexy as well!
Are you doing anything re colour?

I was thinking that too Loola that it is versatile, i can still tie it up or have it straight or leave it naturally wavy. I just hope my HD can cut it how i want.
I wasn't thinking of changing my hair colour, but my HD is using a new brand of colours so it might be a bit different anyway. We'll see.

i am so over my hair ATM , it has grown out & i am very overdue for a cut & colour . I really don't know what to do , Vee & Medusa have seen it in varying ways . Am thinking of keeping it darker as appose to blonde .
i have been styling my hair in a flicked up style [M has a pic in her album] & may have a blonde pic on facebook of me
i have been wearing it as a bob but i'm not happy with it straight & flat :shakehead: , today i did volume at the crown & front & flicked up out at the back - though i have had this style on & off for ages
aaarrgghhh - what to do , what to do ????

Not so much me (growing my hair atm) but the women here (and there are a LOT of them) who are still doing the white blonde with black foils thing. They need to change. It's old, it's over, and it suits maybe 1 person out of 50.
Change it up people!!:whipcrack:

Sorry but white blonde and black foils looks only good on Elvira, no everyday person in there right mind should have this combo because the black looks grey against the blonde and washes out.:whipcrack:
My friend had to do a girls hair today and she wanted ice blonde on top and bright purple underneath :shakehead:

At the moment my hair colouring is very natural (medium/dark blonde) with very blonde highlights, to lighten my hair a little more...
from 18 to 23 yrs old; I was a brunette. Dark chocolates, Egg Plant purples and Deep Dark Coffee.
I have a hair appointment scheduled for the second week of June. Its a treat ... as I haven't had my hair done since November last year.
I am seriously considering going back to Brunette.
I have quite pale skin, but my hazel eyes and face shape suited a warmer toned hair colour, although I was and now naturally blonde.
I am restless and need some ideas... My hair length is at least 1/2 way down my back with shorter lengths up to shoulder length, I have had a fringe but I don't want one, I prefer a longer length look around my face.

Me too, a bit more sophisticated and more like what i what. I want a long bob basically with a side fringe, that i can straighten all perfect and not blah like my hair is now. I was also thinking of this style but with a little bit of concave going on at the back.... maybe, just thinking outloud.
My bloody hairdresser is so picky, i think because i am her friend she knows me too well. I'll talk her into it. lol

Hi all! :waving:
Does anyone know of a good website that does those hair templates - where you can use a pic of yourself to see what a new colour/cut will look like? I'm blonde and currently rocking (sometimes shocking) a 'pob' but not as harsh as Posh's. Im actually thinking of taking the plunge and going a red colour a la Ashley Simpson. A template would help!
