View Full Version : What's your "no-brainer" face?

What makeup do you wear on the days when you can't be bothered thinking about what makeup to wear??
You know... the days where you just want a face that looks polished and goes with everything, but you don't have time to be blending a zillion colours or getting all creative.
Mine:
- IZ Tinted Daywear light (sometimes with a bit of concealer)
- Napoleon Camera Finish or BECCA loose powder
- Ultraceuticals mineral blush, Rose
- MAC e/s, Shroom
- Bloom shadow liner, Charcoal
- mascara
Lip colour varies according to what's in my handbag, but my three staple no-brainers are Bloom lipstick in Indulge, Laura Mercier lipstick in Courtisane, and Clarins Rouge Appeal lipstick in 02 Cappuccino.

Mine Is:
MG Inviible Zinc Tinted Daywear Light
Napolean Perdis Concealer In Amber
M.A.C Studio Fix Powder in NC20 or M.A.C Blot Powder in Light
Benefit Brow Zings in Blonde
Clinique Eye Liner in Egyptian
M.A.C Eye Shadow in Llama - as a base all over eye socket
M.A.C Paint Pot in Constructavist
Benefit Bad Gal Mascara
Benefit Dallas - Just a tiny bit as a bronzer
Becca Lip and Cheek Creme in Rosebud
Any pink gloss that's closest to me
I almost always revert to my "No Brainer face" because I am too rushed to bother mucking around:redcheeks
My no brainer face is:
Shiseido Stick concealer around the nose and on blemishes
MAC Powder
Sugarbaby Bronzer
Stila Convertible colour in Gerbera on cheeks
TBS Brow Gel
MAC paint pot Bare Study
JK eyeliner pencil in Earth (brown) on topand bottom lashline- smudged
Rimmel Extra Super Lash mascara
Some kind of gloss.

My no brainer face:
-bourjois illuminating primer
-CG compact moisture foundation
-Rimmel matte powder
-Maybelline peach blush with shimmer
-Bloom shadow liner in Taupe, used as liner with a little smudge
-Black mascara of any kind i have a the time
-glossy pink lips - whatever i grab first
This is a very minimal look but it makes my skin look nice and dewy and healthy with just enough colour. This is a good look because i can add to it if i want to make it more of a night time look, i would add a navy blue eye shadow with a little shimmer and maybe crank up the liner bit to make it smokier.
PP - I got the Bloom Shadow Liner in Taupe as well - what are your thoughts on it?

Fabulous product and colour. I rarely re-purchase the same items but i'm ready to buy another soon and i want the other colours too. Its very smooth and blends very easily, has just enough shimmer. When used across the whole eye its a great base to add a powder shadow, it makes it last longer. Its creates smokey eyes when lined without being that dramatic black that can sometimes be too much. Love this product!!

I have a couple of Bloom Shadow Liners. I never use them as I find the angled edge a bit tricky to use.

The angle bit is fabulous too, thats what i love about it. You can do a thick or a thin line. Maybe wear the angle down a bit and then use it.

:chuckle: Kate you hooked me in with your title. I just had to find out what this thread was about.
My No-Brainer face is my base and then I usually build on from there. It's my bare minimum. I'm not going to list all products as these change all the time.
Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear
Concealer around eyes, nose, spots
Loose powder to set
Bronzer
Black mascara
Lip coloured lip liner
lip balm or gloss
From here I might add some blush
eyeliner either smudged with a pencil top & bottom or flicked on the top lashes only.

So minimal Medusa!
You would look good even without makeup I think! :hugs:
My 'no-brainer' face usually consists of:
Mascara
Neutral eyeshadow
Blush
Lipgloss
Thats it! 'no-brainer' to me equals minimal effort! I put more on when I have time or am going somewhere special.

What is this like?
Very shimmering but it gives a really nice glow when used un the foundation. You can also use it over as a highlighter. A little goes a long way, i just put it mainly on my cheeks and eyes.

Oooh great thread!
My no-brainer face:
Ultraceuticals Mineral Foundation in Tan
Becca bronzer
Becca mascara
Becca blush
Lip gloss
I have also been wearing the Becca Eye Tint in Baroque everyday whereas often I don't bother with eyeshadow when I am going minimal. Am now hooked on this stuff!

My no-brainer makeup would probably have to be makeup that I apply where I just want to look respectable eg when visitors are coming over, or I have to just go post a letter or pick up a loaf of bread or something etc etc. I really can't leave the house without makeup on, even if it's literally going to be for 5 minutes :redcheeks:
- Smashbox Wet/Dry foundation, applied dry (with a brush)
- Very light dusting of Nars Laguna bronzer
- Medium to dark brown eyeshadow over lids & under lower lashline (as a liner) - usually Stila's Espresso or one of the browns from the Talking Smokey Eye Palette
- Stila lip glaze in Vanilla or Grapefruit, or just lip balm!
I'm a bit slack with the skin preparation bit - just cleanse and tone. I hate the moisturiser and primer step, even though I know my skin will feel better :redcheeks:

I am the same bluemelon! I wish I had nice enough skin to venture out without make up:( but I just can't bring myself to do it. I applaud all those gals who do though :worship:

I would honestly say I venture out more without makeup than with! I always wear makeup if I am going somewhere special but if I am just popping to the local shops or into the city with a mission (eg buy some more beauty loot). I go bare!! This is mainly because I can't be bothered taking it all off again when I get home.

That's so great PCC! I am jealous of your 'super power' lol I probably don't look as bad as I think without make up...probably just the dodgy mirrors in my house (that's my theory and I'm sticking with it ) hehe :D

Mine is:
Jemma Kidd Light as Air Foundation
Jemma Kidd Ultra Sheer Translucent Powder
M.A.C e/s, Nylon

Start at home with Clarins Tinted Moist in Gold
In car apply, eye pencil (currently the Jemma Kidd ones), Chanel mascara, Loreal blush, Lancome lip pencil and Loreal 6 hour lip gloss. Some YSL Touche Eclat if I need it.

I'm so fair I find it soo hard to wear makeup and not look reallyoverdone (So frustrating)
So my no brainer face is basically my everyday, every situation face.
Clinique Super City Block 30+
MaxFactor Colour Adapt - Porcelain + Ivory mixed together
Bourjois Highlighting Powder
Chanel Inimitable Mascara
Bourjois Blush - Rose Frisson
Clear lip balm or Loreal Glam Shine - Forever Nude
Anymore and I look like I've got waaaay too much makeup on. Wish I could find a better solution, but I look too heavy if I try anything more.

My "no-brainer" face is fairly minimal:
Sunscreen as a primer
L'oreal Bare Naturale Mineral Makeup in Light Ivory
Natio Clear Mascara or Clinique High Impact Mascara
Sometimes Elizabeth Arden lip liner in Naturel either with gloss or lipstick
I never wear makeup when I'm going to beauty counters because usually I go with the intention of trying a few things out and I don't want them to have to go to the trouble of taking all my makeup off. I don't have great skin and sometimes feel a little self conscious but because I know most people have seen me without makeup on and still talk to makes me feel a little bit better!

Well mine is nothing to fancy:
- Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Nude or IZ
- Rimmel pencil eyeliner as shadow and liner. Or Rimmel liquid eyeliner in flicks.
- Then lots of mascara.
Nothing that great.

My no brainer face is basically what I do every day for work, not much variance!
Becca Primer
Becca Luminous Skin in Olive
Becca Foundation Stick as Concealer in Macadamia
Becca Loose Powder in Mocha
Becca Bronzer in Lambada
Becca Shimmering Skin in Opal
Becca Creme Blush in either Rosebud or Frangipani
Nars Blush in either Orgasm, Mata Hari or Luster (Orgasm would be staple)
Becca Eye Tint in Baroque
Mac Liquid Liner in Boot Black
Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Black
Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black
Becca Glossy Lip Tiny in Sangria (but still using Armaretto in the interim)
Only thing that tends to vary is the blush I use, and if I am in eyedshadow mood, then will be Nars All About Eve and Bohemian Gold, with some Lola Lola.

If I have absolutely no energy it is:
Ultraceuticals Mineral powder in honey
Mascara on top lashes only
Lip gloss
If I have a little more energy I add:
A light dusting of Bloom blush in Rosebud to apples of cheeks
Mascara on bottom lashes also
The second colour in a Bayonelle quartet I have; a light mushrrom brown with a subtle hint of glitter (this is the one I use at the moment any way).

I forgot to mention in my "no brainer face" I have now added Jemma Kidd's Dewy Glow Radiance creme to that list. I use it on my cheeks and love it.
You girls should be so proud of me. I'm finally using something on my cheeks!!!!!! :chuckle:

For me it would be....~
Biotherm moisturising illuminating makeup base
Biotherm detox foundation mixed with biotherms moisture serum to creat a tinted moisturiser
Nars bronzer to shape the face
Avon loose powder
Mac eye cream in Luna as base
Mac e/s in malt and grain (peachy satin colour with a matte brown in crease)
Mac mascara x
Becca cream blush in blossom
Any gloss or colour i feel like
This actually changes a lot for me, except for the base, like foundation and powder... other then that, sometimes ill still keep it simple and use minimal product but different colours, or blush, mascara and sometimes add a liner...

Well you ladies are a lot more 'glam' than me when your not really going to any trouble, because my no brainer face consists of just using what is left on my brushes from the last time i used them. I get the tiniest hint of everything so I'm not naked, but I'm not really done either.

Does anyone find that it is much harder to do a "natural minimal makeup" face then their regular makeup??
For instance I use alot of eye makeup. That's my thing. Lot of eyeliner, eye color, not too much on face. And then yesterday I tried to do minimal makeup (so not my thing) just mascara, IZ bronzer, radiance creme etc etc. I ended up using more products then my usual rock chick eye look!! And it was alot harder too! :chuckle:
It's weird.

Mascara (if I dont have my lashes tinted, I know for the next 3 appt's to my beautician I'm getting my lashes tinted, but I am in need for a new mascara, coz I wont be getting my lashes tinted for a while, Im going to try Dr Hauschka Volume Mascara - http://www.dr.hauschka.de/english/products/decorative/eyes/volume-mascara/ or maybe living nature http://www.livingnature.com/catalog/main.cfm?t=p&r=vw&pid=629&cid=2374)

But yeah, I didn't find it spread well. It just sort of sat there. I think my skin needs to be very moisturised first. But then again, I'm not a fan of blush anyway.
