I just noticed we have not got a product review thread for Dermadoctor. As such a lot of us are fans of Dermadoctor's Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm I thought we should have a thread for this brand.

I love the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm so much I have been through several jars myself. What I would like to ask others is how much do you actually need to use? I think I might be a little too liberal with it at times. So how much is the right amount to use?

I think I am too liberal too but if I feel that I have too much on I put the rest on my lips.

I do go through a jar at a very fast pace!

I love the wrinkle revenge eye cream too - I just use a dab under each eye, but I spread it from directly under my lashes to the very top of my cheekbones (I get a lot of dehydration lines just above the cheekbone) and out to mid-temple - just to cover all my bases, lol.

I must say the only other product I have tried by Dermadoctor is their Tease Zone Oil Control Gel and I adore this. Normally my face is oily (on a working day in the office) by around midday or even 11am but if I use this in the morning (over moisturizer, under sunscreen) the oil stays away until about 2:30-3pm. I can also reapply it over my make up in the afternoon and it instantly soaks up any oil without disturbing my makeup. Lovely!

Is the eye balm very rich? What is the texture like?

Celeste(Staff)

Serena, the eye cream is divine. It's my new fave. It is hydrating but I wouldn't call it 'rich' - it is not heavy and thick, but quite creamy. I'm making myself hungry :chuckle:

Luisa Brown

Serena it is not sticky rich but of a consitency that I find really soothing. No oily residue either.

It is the perfect texture and perfect eye cream in my opinion. I have never heard anyone say a negative thing about the Dermadoctor eye cream. It seems everyone who buys it loves it.

I soooo want to try it now then! I was just wondering if it would be suitable for me as im in my early 20's, but at the moment really need something hydrating for my eyes. Normal 'hydrating' creams just dont seem to cut it though...

Serena it is just lovely - really hydrating but not oily or overly rich at all. Yet emollient enough between my fingers to feel as though it is doing something, lol.

Hey S! I am in my early 20s and I just love it! I have never really used eye cream before this one and I don't think I'd bother switching to something else.

It should be there now Trash. The supplier can be diffficult in getting products to us so we tend not to take backorders, but they have been pretty good lately so I have changed it so that you can order it - although there will be a delay. Sorry for the inconvenience :waving:

Hopefully we will get it sooner, but as the supplier is notorious for taking ages to get the orders to us, we would rather not say 7 days and then have to call and say 'sorry, we still don't have it, there's going to be another week's wait'

I was just reading Sapphy's thread about cream/milk cleansers with aha's in them etc and on of Kate's recommendations was one of the Dermadoctor products.

This got me to thinking!! We all rave on about how fabulous the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm is so why have we not tried and reviewed more products from the range? Is it the cost of the products or is it that you haven't really thought about the range for yourself before?

I know for myself that I get so caught up in the reviews for the other brands Adore sell that I completely forget about the Dermadoctor when it comes to ordering.

I know Sapphy loves The Tease Zone moisturiser from the range but there isn't really any reviews for other products from the range here on the forum. I really must get to trying out some more products from the line. If they are half as good as the Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm they would be well worth the investment.

Anyone tried anything they haven't reviewed yet?

Update...

We can no longer get in the 15ml Wrinkle Revenge Eye Cream :shakehead:

However as a compromise we have reduced the price of the 30ml to $130, so it is the same as buying two jars of the 15ml.

We are still having long delays getting stock in from DermaDoctor, so all items will continue to be listed as 'limited', and no backorders will be taken.

I know! Me too. I was really looking to trailing this and now I have to spend $130. It will be a while before I can get that kinda money :chuckle:

pinkcupcake
29-04-2008, 01:59 PM
That's so disappointing. It makes me glad I have a couple of 15ml in the cupboard as spares. I will pay the $130 for the bigger jar though as it is the best eye cream I have used.

The 15ml containers are so much more practical. They are the normal size for an eye cream, reasonably priced and you would think someone at the company would wake up that the 15ml standard eye cream size sold better than the bigger jar.:shakehead:

Celeste(Staff)

They were produced as promo items so I guess they just decided to stop manufacturing.

I will keep my 15ml jar and use the 30ml at home and put some in the 15ml for travel. Easy!

Guys don't be discouraged to buy the Dermadoctor Wrinkle Revenge Eye Balm. I know it is expensive but it realy is worth it.

I had an idea for those who really wanted to try the 15ml. You could buddy up with someone. Pay half each and split the 30ml Jar. That way you are still paying the same as you would have for the 15ml. Just a thought.

I've been using my new dermadoctor products for just over a week now so thought I'd drop a review -

Tease Zone Oil Control gel - Love this!! The directions say this can be used either under or over your moisturiser, I have tried it both ways and on me, think it works better under my moisturiser to control oil. Its a lovely silky texture and a great base to keep my skin fresh throughout the day. It definately delivers what it promises to do, control oil. Prior to using this I would develop a bit of shine by midday, keeping in mind i start work at 0800 so I have an early start. Now I am only experiencing the slightest shine by late afternoon. Highly recommend this for oily skin, keeps your makeup fresher for longer.

Ain't misbehaving AHA/BHA cleanser - I've only been using this in the mornings as I find its not ideal for makeup removal just on its own. Also, I can't use it every day as it is quite a strong product for me, however I think I'm possibly a bit sensitive to glycolic. If you enjoy the tingles, this will give you that. Although it is quite "active", it certainly doesn't feel like its stripping my skin at all. Is quite runny in texture, white and very thin creamy appearance and texture. My skin has been very well behaved lately with only occasional breakouts but this will be good to have on hand for those times when my skin throws a hissy fit :chuckle:. Will report back to see how it holds up in those times!!

Thanks for the review, TigerEyes. Do you wear much makeup? The things I like to tick off regarding finding a good cleanser are – non-foaming – gentle (does not cause tightness or redness) – good at removing my IZ and any other makeup – effectively removes oil and reduces congestion in a gentle way. Do you have sensitive skin normally? I might have to just try this one for myself I guess in order to make up my mind!

PS Glad you like the oil control gel. Another fan like me!

Hey Saph, nope not much make up at all. Sunscreen, UC mineral and a bit of concealer, mascara and a touch of blush (although I find mine is making me break out strangely enough... right where i put my blush so it must be that, haven't been wearing it until i get a replacement). Rarely eye make up for day to day. I think maybe I am just used to the Alpha h doing such a great job, and yes I am usually a bit sensitive. If you're ok with glycolic I think you'll be fine with it. Will use the dermaodoctor when my skin is misbehaving though I think. Going on your comments about what you like a cleanser to be I think you'll like this one. It certainly doesn't cause any tightness or irritation.

ps. I ordered the dermadoctor cheek/lip tint yesterday in an attempt to solve the bluch issue..... will report back with that one too... :glee:
