Does anyone watch this show on Foxtel/UKTV?
It's a reality show where 2 cleaning experts (Kim & Aggie) go to very untidy houses & organise to clean them up for the owner.
They berate the owner for letting it get into that state & also get lab results on the different bacteria found in different rooms of the house.
Kim & Aggie are just so funny, going around sniffing the rot they find. Kim really gets stern with the homeowners & gives them what for.
I find the show motivational for getting me off my butt & cleaning, plus they have great cleaning tips too.

I think I've seen one episode only, and was totally disgusted when they found dog and cat poo all throughout the house and even in her bed!!!! :shockedhair:

Ummmmmmm, no. My place isn't that bad. It's a house big enough for 2 adults & a child, and we have 4 adults and a young teen living here - 1 adult lives in our lounge. Plus, all the cr@p that hubby insists he will get back to 'one day'. And a fluffy cat.

I viewed part of an episode only, that was enough!
Filthy, lazy people living in rotting mess of food, faeces, mould and general dust and dirt. Unwashed clothing laying everywhere.............. eeech!!
Why go in and clean this filth up only to have them resort to living in a manner to which they found acceptable previously.
What lengths do the Networks go for ratings and people watch to reinforce that their are people worse than themselves. GROSS!

Right, so like those 'You Are What You Eat' shows on British TV, they set you up with the good stuff, for you to fall flat on your face once the cameras are gone. ANd they always pick the most feral, disgusting people to do it with. No thanks.
I used to know someone like that - I visited her house once, that was enough.
But as I say, if they want to bring a rubbish skip around and :whipcrack: hubby into a bit of reality as to his junk, I am all theirs.

Goshlings my Mum has always been obsessive about a clean house. Our house almost doesn't look lived in most of the time as she is so fanatical about cleaning. She is the type who will vaccume and wash the floors every day. She will not got o bed with one cup not washed up.
I am afraid to say she had rubbed off on me a little. I am quite the cleaner also. Not as bad as Mum but I am still very fussy.

Is it just me who sees this thread and actually thinks about their house, and not a tv show?

man that show was so grossYes! There was a Too Posh To Wash marathon a few months ago. It was ok but the people were really gross.... I prefer the house one.... at least they give good cleaning tips too.... Kim & Aggie make the show too. I wouldn't watch it if it wasn't for them... they make me LOL

Not too bad! Could be better, could be worse. The bain of my existence is these little berry things that fall all over the pavement leading up to my place, and they get trampled into the carpet. I have to vaccum all the fricking time to get rid of them :shakehead:

Celeste my boyfriend's little brother is in charge of vacuuming so he has a sign on the window that says "take your shoes off before I kill you".

Cute. Maybe I should try it! But I don't have a little brother to blame... maybe I should say 'Take your shoes off or I won't play beautician' - my girlfriends love coming around and playing with products/doing mini facials!

Eucalyptus oil? You can get it in a spray and it shifts most things. Bit pongy though.

put newspaper over it and iron the paper.... it will melt through to the newspaper. I have had to do this before after a melted candle accident

Does anyone know how to get wax out of the carpet and off my patio tiles? :shakehead:Not sure about the patio... but this is from the How Clean Is Your House? Website:
What is the best way to clean hard dripped wax from carpet? Wayne Smith
Aggie: Simply get some kitchen roll, lay it over the area and run a medium hot iron over the paper’s surface, but make sure the iron isn’t so hot that it will damage your carpet. Keep changing the paper and running the iron over it until all the wax has been soaked up. If there’s any coloured residue left in the carpet, you can remove it with a little white spirit.

I find the iron trick leaves an oil mark from the wax in the carpet (and on clothes!)
