Hi!
I am on the search for a new foundation as I have changed my perception on being pale (I now am going to embrace it instead of trying to look tanned all the time).
I have been into David Jones the past week on my lunch breaks trying stuff out. Just wanted to know what you guys think. My current foundation is MAC studio fix but it’s too dark (NW15) and they don’t go lighter in Brisbane. I have been to Armani and #3 was the colour for me, but I am worried this won’t be enough coverage for when I want to go out etc. I don’t necessarily want something as heavy as Studio Fix but I don’t want something as sheer as Armani Silk. I tried La Prairie Caviar Foundation and it’s probably a bit sheer too. I have really dark circles under my eyes and the occasional blemish. Dry - normal skin. Not oily. Don’t really like powder, although haven’t really tried it. How do I get that doll look? (not mask). I went in and tried Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich (my skin isn’t that dry, do you think it will be too slimey?) – I am ‘porcelain’ in that one.
I want a nice, creamy foundation with beautiful texture, that is pale but I don’t want to look scary and masked. Who knows of a good one that has more coverage than Armani Silk and La Prairie Caviar Foundation? Do you think I should go with Bobbi Brown? (P.S All the above products are half price on Strawberry net….. they don’t have my colour but can I just say that David Jones doubles the price… rip off). La Prairie DJ = $280. SN = $180. etc…
Thanks!!!!!!

I would wear something sheer so you don't look too made up, and then use concealer or stick foundation to add extra coverage where it is needed.
Try the BECCA Skin Perfecting System - it's fantastic and there are a lot of BECCA fans on here to give you more information.
Start with a primer - http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewItem.asp?idproduct=11020 is really popular
Next, sheer Luminous Skin Colour - http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=8585
Foundation stick for extra coverage - http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=8586
And powder to set - http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=8588
And you're done! You can dust with a bit of bronzer or blush to add some colour.

I second Celeste's recommendation for Becca products, but I thought I'd add another few options as well.
Consider popping to down to a Guerlain counter and looking at their foundations. They have a semi-matte, an ultra-matte and a moisturising one, very silky doll-like textures and come in pale colours.
Maybe also have a look at The Body Shop's oil-free foundation or their moisturizing one, both are very creamy but the oil-free one is probably more doll-like. Also come in quite pale colours.
Other budget ones which come to mind are L'oreal's Cashmere one and Maybelline's Wonder Finish. Good luck with your foundation hunt!

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I am so confused as what to get. I don't know much about BECCA, do you get it from Myer or David Jones??
I am thinking of getting the award winning Bobbi Brown foundation stick, because it has such good reviews, and then just get one of the sheer foundations I have been talking about, and when I need night-time coverage, to use the Foundation stick..
What do you think? I don't have the funds for a primer and all of this because I am hoping to get a new mascara, foundation stick and concealer and foundation.
I think I am going to invest in a YSL touch eclat or anti-cernes because I have extremely dark circles.

Seahorse I was going to suggest the MAC NW15 as I have this - you must b e very pale because I am pale (blonde pale which can be different to dark hair pale) and this is perfect on me. I think it is the second lightest. Celeste is right though, maybe a sheer foundation that does not mask your skin.

All the BECCA foundations are gorgeous, and Bobbi Brown has a reputation for quality face products. I'm not a huge fan of sticks as they can make you a bit oily, but if you go on light and then build you should be a-ok. Also don't forget to set with powder.
For an alternative in terms of sheer to medium coverage with a beautiful velvety finish you cannot go past the Jemma Kidd Light as Air Liquid Foundation, available from Kit. VeeE and I swear by it. I use the second lightest one, the lightest would be perfect on you.
It is described as sheer but actually has good coverage.

I quite like Cover Girl Clean make up in Porcelain. Very cheap, but it's working for me better than the more expensive foundations I've tried.
