View Full Version : Troublesome perfume nozzles!

Does anyone have any tricks to deal with troublesome perfume nozzles? I like to "drizzle" my perfumes, especially the very strong ones like Angel. Some bottles I have are very stubborn however - it's a full spray or nothing.
I have found that my 30ml bottle of Insolence is like this - the nozzle sprays one huge patch of perfume that runs down my arm.
Is there anything anyone else has found that makes perfumes easier to spray or control, or does it depend on the bottle/designer/state of perfume?
I know that they say with other sprays to take the cap off & run it under warm water but I'm wary to do this with my perfumes.
Thanks guys :-)

I've taken the nozzle off to wash it heaps of times....never had a problem. I just 'click' it back on.

For those ones, if the washing doesn't work, I just spray into the air and walk through it.

Never had a problem after I have washed them either.
The walking through the mist option is a great idea.

This is not relevant to the question but if anyone has trouble getting the perfume to spray out, pop your finer over the bit where the perfume comes out, pupmp a few times and then take your finger away and it should start coming out properly again.

Sort of along the same lines... I have difficulty spraying my Prada perfume. It's the shape of the bottle or something - it's just really difficult to hold and squirt in the right place. Often I end up with it all over my fingers.
But, I love the perfume :)

I've realised that the trouble I've been having with the Insolence nozzle is due to the way it is - the 30ml bottle anyway.
So what I do is hold the bottle like a martini glass (thumb on top of nozzle) and spray & sweep the scent up my arm in one fell swoop. This way it doesn't make one big puddle.
dodts, the Prada bottle is definitely unusual. Maybe you can try spraying this way too.

Thanks, I'll give it a go
