Thanks for that Sapphy. I actually have a book about perfumes and the stories that go along with each fragrance. It discusses everything from the bottle design to the noses who created it. If ayone ever wants to borrow it just let me know.

Some of the bottle the egyptians created were out of this world!

I love bottles - reading through this article makes me sad that many of them are no longer on the market.

I have a bottle (all be it empty) signed back in the 50's I think by Miss Coco Chanel herself. It was purchased at an auction held by Christies many many years ago for me.

Must go and dig out the authenticity certificate to check the details.

Kleins in Brunswick St used to package their fragrance oils in little handpainted Egyptian bottles. You would have to pay $20 just for the bottle but they were just beautiful. When I asked them about them during our Adoreables trip, they said they could no longer get them in. Sad.

I wish some of the old bottles were brought back... I love the luxury of the old egyptian and other perfume bottles that were just a sign or pure luxury back then. So dreamy for some reason~

Sapphire, have definitely planned a trip there on Friday. Just so happens to be Miss' birthday. She wants to go to San Churro the Spanish Donut place and loves looking in Kleins. I may just have to get another Sacred Woods roll on perfume because I just cant think where I put it (could be anywhere!).

You should be on the lookout for cheap flights Sapphire. I am sure you have family/friends here to stay with. I think you need another Melbourne "fix"!

I do indeed - hubby is going to Melbourne the week before I go to Hobart but I have so much on at work I cannot take the time off before Hobart. I might send him on a Kleins tour...I'm sure he'd love that ;)

I might have to give him a detailed list. With thumbnails. And a floor plan.
