Hi everyone, hoping to get some opinions on a set of brushes on ebay. I've heard that ebay can sometimes be dodgy when it comes to MAC brushes & obviously I don't want fakes, but I've done a lot if searching & have found this set which are listed as authentic. I also emailed the seller, who assured me that they were authentic or I could get a full refund. Her feedback is good also.

If anyone here knows M.A.C. brushes well & could comment on these ones I would really appreciate it.

Here's the link to the brushes:

Thanks!

Hi there, and welcome! :waving:

It's really up to you but I will say a big buyer-beware on this one. Fake M.A.C and other name-brand brushes flood eBay and there is absolutely no guarantee they are authentic, no matter what the seller says.

Some of the brushes in that set are worth upwards of $50 just on their own!

Totally your decision though and if you're not happy with them, it's great that you can get a refund.

Cheers,
RBB

I'm with RBB. It's up to you, and hey they MAY be authentic. But I'd come down on the side of fake. A friend of mine (not a friend of a friend) bought a set of MAC brushes for $69 on Ebay and I could tell as soon as I saw them that they weren't real. They might be nice brushes but there is no way they're authentic. How could they afford to sell real MAC bushes so cheaply?

It's up to you though!

I'd gone a bit silly and purchased too many Napoleon brushes. So I sold the excess on e-bay, I decided that way I'd at least get a little money back, rather than none if they just sat in my cupboard or I gave them away. So you could get lucky.

I have a complete set of M.A.C brushes and tool belt. I bought about five to start with and then just added a couple each pay day until I had the entire set. I bought mine from a M.A.C Counter. It was the only way I felt comfotable and assured I was getting the real deal. I have ben a victim of fake good on e-bay which is why I advise you to exercise extreme caution when buying from e-bay.

A quality set of brushes is so worth the investment. They will last years.

If something seems to be too good to be true, it usually is. Good luck with your decision.

ive been tempted to buy brushes off ebay but i dunno, i think i would enjoy going into the store and buying them knowing they are authentic and noone else has potentially used them!

You'd have to research a bit if you're buying off ebay.

There are instances where people are selling them off cheap as a once-off thing, as well as sellers who may have a bulk lot and sell them regularly.

But as i said, it needs a fair bit of research before buying, and you have to be familiar with MAC brushes themselves...

Look at the Price as an indicator. If the price of the brushes seems to good to be true, then assume they're fake. I've noticed lots of sellers flogging 25 pots of MAC eyeshadow for prices like $25. Some of these sellers have the audacity to post pictures and straight up you can tell they're fake. Also, don't buy from sellers from places like Hong Kong/China where fakes of any brand can be manufactured. I always buy my MAC products from Australia, UK, Canada or US. Good luck! :D
