Hi Guys :waving:

Im very new to adore but I'm loving the site already!!! Theres so much info in these forums that I dont even know where to start looking so I though here might be a good place to start.

Im am very clueless when it come to what is good for my skin and whats not

I know all the basics like cleansing, toning, moisturising, exfoliating etc. but I dont know what combinations of what products are good and if there are some that are really bad that I should be staying away from. Heres a bit of a summary of my skin: Im 20 and I have combination skin. My skin breaks out every now and then but its only around my chin and its mainly hormonal. Im at uni full time and I also have 2 office jobs :typingb: so Im often in really dry airconditioned environments. I also feel that I have deeper lines on my forehead due to sun exposure as a kid :tears: (I thinks thats to blame anyway!) I'd like to start really looking after my skin and I would just like a push in the right direction :yelling: I have also heard some good things about using Retinol product but Im not sure if I should be using them yet

This is what Im using now:

AM

- Payot Cleansing Gel
- Ultraceuticals Pharma Ultra C Facial Cream
- Ultraceuticals Daily Protective Moisturiser

PM
-Payot Cleansing Gel
-Ultraceuticals Pharma Ultra C Facial Cream

I dont use a scrub or a mask either at the moment.

After putting on the Ultra C cream my skin still feels a bit dry but Im too scared to put too many things on my face at the one time and overload it . I've recently started using the Ultraceuticals Pharma Range but do you think that its best if I just start using the Professional Range or build up to it first? I've heard good things from other Ultraceutical users in these forums and It sounds like they really work wonders

If anyone could please give me a run down on what a good skincare routine for day and night would be for my skin that would be absolutely fantastic :worship:

Hi Sparkley,

the pharma range is a lot milder than the professional range. It's fine to be using the professional range right away but with anything it's about selecting the best products for your skin type.

Sun protection is so important in preventing fine lines, but muscle movements from expression do also contribute.

Air conditioning can make the skin quite dehydrated so we'll look at that too with this routine.

AM
cleanse with the ultra milk cleanser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1826
this will deal with cleaning the skin as it's a light cleanser that doesn't leave a film but it's still hydrating on the skin

apply the ultra a eye cream:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1835
this is great for age prevention (has retinol in it)
**use this only once a day for the first week-two weeks then you can gradually introduce it twice a day as your skin feels ready

follow with thealpha h age delay moisturiser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=11151
this has a great combination of glycolic and salycilic acid as well as vitamins and antioxidants. the effect is clearing + antiaging.

finish with your protective daily moisturiser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1831

PM
cleanser as in the AM section

follow with your ultra a eye cream**

follow with the ultra a treatment serum:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=1828
this is a good amount of retinol to begin with. It will help to both clear and work as an age preventative. start on this every third night and over a period of a few weeks gradually build up to nightly use. For the first few days of your routine just skin this step so you can get used to the product here below.

finish with the ultra c sheer moisturiser:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=4734
this is a much more potent cream that what you have been using so it's only used once each day. It may feel tingly at first but it is excellet at balancing and clearing.

you can exfoliate three times a week with the alpha H microcleanse:http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=3689
this will help with those break outs too! It will also get rid of any surface dry patches from dehydration.

How does all that sound?

Thanks so much Alison! You have so much knowledge!! :worship:

That sounds like a great routine to get me started on ( and not too hard either as I can get quite lazy coz unsually im not sure if im doing the right thing :spin:)

Do you recommend any type of mask? Or should I just start doing what you've advised and incoporate a mask latter?

Thanks you so much again!! My skin says thank you :hearts:xx

try the alpha h 15% glycolic... it's popular and effective on hydration and congestion... makes you skin feel baby smooth! http://www.adorebeauty.com.au/adorebeauty/viewitem.asp?idproduct=383
